If I could give 100 stars I would! I've been wanting to get my nose pierced for the longest time. I…read morehad an appointment booked with Hot Rod Piercing a few months ago and ended up cancelling because work was crazy/holidays were coming up, etc. Anyway - one of my favorite humans said she was getting hers pierced last weekend so I tagged along to get mine done too (unnamed tattoo shop). I was soooo excited. The piercer there had a difficult time getting the needle through my nose, and the L shaped ring too (ouch). But! It was done. My nose was pierced. And I loved it! My nose started to swell real bad and it was sinking way down into my nose by the 2nd day. Day 3 it was even more swollen and I had to "prop" the ring up with a tissue to keep the stud out of the hole. Without the tissue it just sank further into my new piercing. Day 4 I woke up and had a panic attack. The ring completely disappeared inside of my nostril. I tried to pull it out myself because I was sick to my stomach and just over it. It wouldn't come out! I legit considered going to the ER to have to removed. I was positive there was no way to get that ring out. Naturally I start Googling. Different sites and forums said to go back to the piercer so they can fix it and change the jewelry if needed. No way I was going back to that tattoo shop. At this point, the entire right side of my face hurt so bad. I thought for sure I had an infection. I Googled Hot Rod's hours.. they opened at 12pm. It was only 10am. I called them as soon as they opened and was told I could just walk in and they'd squeeze me in between appointments. I picked my new ring and Tanner took me back a few minutes later. Tanner was AMAZING. He was so patient with me and explained everything before he did it. I laid back on the table and apologized in advance for crying because I knew getting out the ring I had was going to be super painful. I felt a little pressure and he had it out within seconds (& no tears! Lol). Let me tell you.. as soon as he was done, ALL of the pain and pressure I felt on the right side of my face was gone. My nose feels a million times better and the jewelry fits my swollen nose!! Turns out the wrong jewelry/size ring was used to pierce my nose. And it was bent. I knew the piercer at the unnamed tattoo shop had a difficult time getting it in, but had no idea she bent it. Long story short, I will never go anywhere but Hot Rod for any future piercings & jewelry purchases. Their jewelry selection is pretty awesome too! I will always recommend them to everyone. Tanner, if you see this.. thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. You are the best and I appreciate you so much!

I've been following this place on Instagram for weeks, and I finally made it in for a piercing…read more First off, the outside entrance is super cute and the aesthetic is just lovely. When you step inside, you'll see their jewelry case with all genuine metal, hypoallergenic pieces that you can leave in forever. They have a range of options, including gold, diamond, and cubic zirconia. A friendly lady at the front will guide you through all the jewelry options. I chose this place because of its cute, dainty jewelry, which is perfect if you like smaller pieces. The process is straightforward: you pay separately for the piercing and the jewelry. The piercing itself is $60, and you'll need to buy the stud or back piece, which costs an additional $18. The jewelry ranges from $85 and up. My final cost was around $300 for a genuine gold piece with a real diamond. The studio was clean, and the piercer was incredibly knowledgeable, laid-back, and easy to talk to. I'm already planning my next visit and looking forward to getting another piercing. We even mapped out my ear for future piercings!

They give clear instructions on piercing care and do a great job helping you pick out jewelry (holding up the gem to your ear so you can see exactly what it will look like before you decide). The scheduling process is super easy as well! I'll definitely be back for my next piercing!

I really have to say that this tattoo shop was a wonderful experience to have on a Saturday morning. Michelle the owner in tattooer was probably one of the most gracious and amazing people I have met. While I was not the one to get tattooed by her the conversation that we had as a group was just amazing. She is a beautiful soul. Her ability to be so open and understanding of similar life experiences while making it about the person and not just herself was fantastic. While I was the not the one who is getting tattooed she made me feel comfortable in the space that she provided. She even gave me a recommendation about a tattoo cover up that I've been thinking about for some years now. She made me feel assured and comfortable that what I wanted is a possibility and to not be afraid to go for it. Michelle is a warm and friendly individual that only allows positivity in her space. And she even takes time to talk to her clients outside of the tattoo space. I would suggest coming here for a positive inclusive tattoo experience. You will not be disappointed.

People deal with loss in different ways and one way that I have dealt with a loss recently was to…read moreget some ink to remember. I had no intention to deliberately come here, but as I was walking down the street I felt this is where I was going to do it. It was a rainy day and I walked up to the place and looked up and thought, yeah, this is the appropriate place to do so. I had no clue if they took walk-ins, or were able at that moment to do my tattoo. I just felt numb at that point and walked in here. I went to the counter and was asked what they could do for me. I showed them what I wanted tattooed on me and where I would like it to be. After making sure what I wanted would be alright when it would be stenciled they made sure the sizing was right for the area. While they were doing all that I filled out the tattoo waiver form to have this done and just waited until it was time. It had been a few years since I last got a tattoo and was a bit anxious with it all, but the artist that did my tattoo, Jeff, put me at ease. Because of me being a walk in and it being a simple tattoo, I think I took up maybe twenty minutes total of their time. The tattooing itself did not bother me one bit. When Jeff was all finished and he cleaned it a bit, he had me look at it to see how it looked. I went to the mirror, looked at it, chocked up a bit and told him it was perfect. He asked if I was alright and I told him yeah, it just means a lot to me that he was able to get the handwriting perfect. See, I had a bit of a breakdown knowing that my Mom was not going to be signing anymore of my birthday cards, so I had her handwriting tattooed on me from a previous birthday card to have forever. Jeff saw the sadness in my eyes and asked if I needed a hug. I told him I was fine, just having a moment. He then asked again if I needed a hug and I told him I appreciate the gesture, but I am fine. After he was done and had me set up to go, he took some of his time to talk to me about how loss is a tough thing to deal with and that he knows what I was going through. Some people just have the right compassion to be doing their line of work. Jeff exemplifies was a good person is and kind and caring being. I totally appreciate what they were able to accomplish for me, anytime I miss Mom I give a rub of that tattoo am reminded that I am loved. Phew, sorry to be a downer there, but it was an emotional day, and I needed to hear some kind words at that particular moment. I believe I was brought here for a reason. I would definitely come back and ask for Jeff to do my next tattoo. Also, not bad for this being my 2,700th review. Glad it could be this place.

However it was on our Pittsburgh Coffee Passport and so my wife and I headed over. The inside of it is quite an interesting place. It has a floor made of pennies, a brick wall and an intricately decorated ceiling. I am pretty sure they are a coffee shop, tattoo parlor and art gallery all in one. So that means that there is art and t shirts hanging up all over the place. For our coffee on this day both my wife and I both ordered cappuccino. They came out with swan decorations in the foam with spoons made to look like skulls. The flavor of the coffee here was good too. My first sip was a little bitter but it quickly smoothed out the more of it that I drank and I enjoyed it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Artisan is definitely a hipster place but they have some good coffee for reasonable prices.

The barista steeped the tea for me and brought out a really cool tea pot and mug for me to use. For my group, we were able to push together tables to sit near each other. There were outlets near the tables which was convenient for our laptops. The general volume was quiet as most people were doing independent work on their laptops or sketching art. It's really hipster inside based on the outside art, inside art, and clientele. I would go again if I'm in the area or need to meet a group in a quiet place bear garfield.
