Had a terrible experience getting my daughter's ears pierced. The girl who did the piercing shook badly and took about 2 full minutes to pierce one earlobe and get the earring in. Had to watch my kid stay impaled on the needle while the piercer went across the room to get the earring then struggled to get it in. It was such a traumatizing experience that my kid refused to get the second ear pierced (and my partner and I weren't going to let that happen again anyway). As we got ready to leave, she gave no aftercare instructions. We then tried to bring the matter to the attention of the shop owners so that no one would have to suffer the same experience, but were ignored and dismissed. Artist / part owner (Amy) had an unpleasant, no personality and poor table-side manner. She rushed through the job and over charged me. For the two basic tattoos I paid well over $350. Additionally, the tattoo of my astrological sign was so poorly done, it created scar tissue and left an area without ink. The reason for the almost year later review, I forgot about it until I received an email offering which, reminded me how upset i get every time i see my tattoos however, being a single full-time father these petty things take a backseat to everyday life but, man this place! So I am a person to look at reviews before I go to some places especially where I am going to get a piercing. I saw the bad ones and I was thinking hmmm should I really risk it. So I called to see what their prices were(I have to ball on a budget), and Mia answered the phone very nicely and happily. She was able to schedule me for a piercing the same day. When I got there she was the one who greeted and she was so nice and really easy to talk to very approachable. I had to wait a bit of time because she was helping someone with a tattoo idea which took awhile, and my appt was at 1:30 pm. So that's the only thing I'd be kind of irritated about but Mia was great, and I'd highly recommend her. It was very clean and she made everything okay. I was disappointed with my experience getting ear piercings with Pittsburgh Tattoo Studio. To begin, I was not given a choice of what earring was used for the piercing. After the healing was complete, I called to set up an appointment to change the earring, but it costs $15. My wife and I got 3 piercings total, paid over $200 (including tip), and we are definitely not interested in paying another $50 to have the earrings changed. Have been getting my tattoos from Amy for over 2 years and she is the only person who I will go to for my big tattoos/designs. Her line work is so amazing and she always knows how to tie any tattoo together. I always get compliments on my tattoos. She is reasonably priced and very friendly. She is very popular and usually have to wait at least a month to get a tattoo, but it's well worth the wait! $50 deposit for every tattoo but they take it off the total when the tattoo is complete. DEFINITELY recommend this place for piercings. I've gotten my nose pierced here twice (once again after I let is close) and two cartilage piercings on my ear. They do a phenomenal job of walking you through the process and being clear as to how to take care of your piercings. I love the customer service here, and they have always been incredibly helpful with all the mishaps I've had (messed up jewelry, accidentally taking jewelry out too soon, etc). Proceeded to stab into my ariola and somehow brought it out into my actual breast tissue, not even in the nipple. Amy is amazing. I've been tattooed by artists all over the country, but it's her work that literally stops people in their tracks when I walk by. You know how millennials say "literally", but the thing they're saying isn't literal?m at all? This isn't like that. I have to keep a fat stack of her cards in my purse to give out, and replace it regularly. Her work on me is that popular. The shop is clean and bright and friendly and welcoming. 75% of the time, when I walk in there's some totally adorable dad and his tweenager in there getting her ears pierced. Stop my earlier today with my son. Tattoo shopping and 1A to see what they had to offer as far as a tattoo for his arm. When we got to the establishment there was no one there in the open sign was on. The front door was open but they had a sign saying by appointment only. This has been my best tattoo experience so far! I can't say that my body is totally covered, but I have about 20 tattoos, mainly consisting of phrases and words in black ink. Saying that, placement, alignment, and clean lines are most important to me. My appointment was with Amy Ausiello. She was suggested to me by someone on a local online community group (Nextdoor). I had to put a deposit of $50 down, which is standard for a tattoo place (this ends up coming off the total price of your tattoo). The one AWESOME thing about this shop is that they take credit cards, online and in-store. Most tattoo places I've been to do not. You can even put a tip on a credit card. Woot! I had to make my appointment about 2 months in advance, which, again, unless you walk in, is another standard thing I've found with good artists. The day comes, I get to the shop, and the reception I receive when I walk in was positive and cheerful. The women working in the front were chatty and personable. When Amy was ready, I went back to her immaculately clean station. All the stations are completely closed off. A wonderful thing if this is your first tattoo, or you need to be discrete when getting tattooed in a more private area. Amy was super efficient, a stickler with placement, and easy to sit for. I got my tattoos on the back of my arms, above the elbow. She gripped my arm tightly, and I was put in a comfortable position. This was nice because it limited the possibility of me moving. A few months ago I got a tragus piercing from this place. At first the piercing seemed well placed, and it didn't hurt at all. However as the weeks went by and my ear started to heal (the swelling went down) I started to realized that the piercing was wrongly placed. The receptionist who did my piercing only pierced a very thin layer of skin using a method I'd never seen before. The piercing when straight back through my tragus so that you could see both ends of the barbell. In total the entire span of the whole is less than a half a centimeter big and my tragus isn't supporting the earring. Although, the piercing itself didn't hurt at all, and I experienced little after problems I am very unhappy with the piercing placement (or lack there of, the hole is basically nonexistent). read more

First let me just say how clean it was when I walked in the door! It was an immediate sigh of relief. I was able to get am appointment with short notice which was great. Very friendly staff. Loved the artwork on the walls. Everything in the front of the studio was so nice. Then I met Amy. You could tell that she was a very professional girl who knew what she was doing. That also put me at ease. (This was only my second tattoo. First experience was kind of a mess). The whole process only took a half hour for my tiny tat and it went perfectly. Love my little cupcake. I got my rook pierced there less than a month ago and the top metal ball kept falling out. The first time I was able to retrieve the metal ball and they put in back in. The SECOND time it fell out I called and they told me to come in and were going to charge me two dollars for a new ball which was kind of annoying, but not a big deal. Come to find out that the rod was defective and it wouldn't screw back on correctly. They wanted to take the old piercing out and put a new one in and charge me for the new piece after they said in the first place the original was defective. At this point my ear was already becoming more irritated from all the times they messed around trying to get the old ball put back on that I was annoyed and disappointed so I left without anything I needed and unfortunately my 40 DOLLAR piercing had to be taken out. Went here a few months ago to get my nose pierced. I wanted a hoop instead of a stud and the girl who pierced my nose told me that the hoop would have to be a little bigger then a normal one just for the healing process. And that was fine but what she failed to mention was the needle she used was bigger than the normal one people usually are pierced with. Therefore the hole in my nose was bigger than normal. So when I went to a different place to change my hoop out to a stud the girl told me that my hole was too big and she couldn't put a stud in cause it would fall out and I would have to wait for it to shrink. I personally think I should've been informed that she was using a bigger needle cause now my hole is bigger than normal and certain jewelry I'm not able to wear. Even the girl who was going to change my piercing couldn't believe that I was not informed of that. Other than that my piercing did heal well and I didn't think the prices were that bad. So it wasn't completely a bad experience. read more
