So happy with my experience! Love the quality of my tattoo. So happy with how it turned out and I will be back! Amy is phenomenal! I waited 2 months for the appointment with her and it was totally worth it. Process for appointments goes like this: must know what you want before they'll give an appointment. Was asked to send pics of some ideas and explained what I wanted so the artist can sketch the tattoo for you. I believe there was. $50 deposit due when making the appointment as well. The shop is clean and inviting. I felt very comfortable as I think anyone would. It was very welcoming. So pleased with the entire experience and will be back!

***WARNING*** HORRIBLE VALUE FOR THE PRICES. Went in to get a couple, very simple, very basic tattoos in Jan. 2019. Artist / part owner (Amy) had an unpleasant, no personality and poor table-side manner. She rushed through the job and over charged me. For the two basic tattoos I paid well over $350. Additionally, the tattoo of my astrological sign was so poorly done, it created scar tissue and left an area without ink. The reason for the almost year later review, I forgot about it until I received an email offering which, reminded me how upset i get every time i see my tattoos however, being a single full-time father these petty things take a backseat to everyday life but, man this place! I've attached images of the over priced, poor quality job from this place. I will now unfortunately need to seek a higher quality studio to correct their incompetence, (See images).

So I am a person to look at reviews before I go to some places especially where I am going to get a piercing. I saw the bad ones and I was thinking hmmm should I really risk it. So I called to see what their prices were(I have to ball on a budget), and Mia answered the phone very nicely and happily. She was able to schedule me for a piercing the same day. When I got there she was the one who greeted and she was so nice and really easy to talk to very approachable. I had to wait a bit of time because she was helping someone with a tattoo idea which took awhile, and my appt was at 1:30 pm. So that's the only thing I'd be kind of irritated about but Mia was great, and I'd highly recommend her. It was very clean and she made everything okay. Btw they have a lot of cute jewelry.

Got my first two tattoos and a tragus piercing here. Lauren was great at putting my nerves to ease. She offers a free touch up within the first year. I really appreciated how patient she was with me, in determining the size and specific placement I wanted.

Honestly the artist did good but, this place is very pricey. My tattoo was $420 something, and I actually have a thigh tattoo that is bigger that I got done at the Pittsburgh Tattoo Company and it was only $200 something and the tattoo is just as good, honestly it might be even better. The artist (Dave) didn't even shave my arm before the tattoo

However it was on our Pittsburgh Coffee Passport and so my wife and I headed over. The inside of it is quite an interesting place. It has a floor made of pennies, a brick wall and an intricately decorated ceiling. I am pretty sure they are a coffee shop, tattoo parlor and art gallery all in one. So that means that there is art and t shirts hanging up all over the place. For our coffee on this day both my wife and I both ordered cappuccino. They came out with swan decorations in the foam with spoons made to look like skulls. The flavor of the coffee here was good too. My first sip was a little bitter but it quickly smoothed out the more of it that I drank and I enjoyed it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Artisan is definitely a hipster place but they have some good coffee for reasonable prices.

The barista steeped the tea for me and brought out a really cool tea pot and mug for me to use. For my group, we were able to push together tables to sit near each other. There were outlets near the tables which was convenient for our laptops. The general volume was quiet as most people were doing independent work on their laptops or sketching art. It's really hipster inside based on the outside art, inside art, and clientele. I would go again if I'm in the area or need to meet a group in a quiet place bear garfield.

I had no intention to deliberately come here, but as I was walking down the street I felt this is where I was going to do it. It was a rainy day and I walked up to the place and looked up and thought, yeah, this is the appropriate place to do so. I had no clue if they took walk-ins, or were able at that moment to do my tattoo. I just felt numb at that point and walked in here. I went to the counter and was asked what they could do for me. I showed them what I wanted tattooed on me and where I would like it to be. After making sure what I wanted would be alright when it would be stenciled they made sure the sizing was right for the area. While they were doing all that I filled out the tattoo waiver form to have this done and just waited until it was time. It had been a few years since I last got a tattoo and was a bit anxious with it all, but the artist that did my tattoo, Jeff, put me at ease. Because of me being a walk in and it being a simple tattoo, I think I took up maybe twenty minutes total of their time. The tattooing itself did not bother me one bit. When Jeff was all finished and he cleaned it a bit, he had me look at it to see how it looked. I went to the mirror, looked at it, chocked up a bit and told him it was perfect. He asked if I was alright and I told him yeah, it just means a lot to me that he was able to get the handwriting perfect. See, I had a bit of a breakdown knowing that my Mom was not going to be signing anymore of my birthday cards, so I had her handwriting tattooed on me from a previous birthday card to have forever. Jeff saw the sadness in my eyes and asked if I needed a hug. I told him I was fine, just having a moment. He then asked again if I needed a hug and I told him I appreciate the gesture, but I am fine. After he was done and had me set up to go, he took some of his time to talk to me about how loss is a tough thing to deal with and that he knows what I was going through. Some people just have the right compassion to be doing their line of work. Jeff exemplifies was a good person is and kind and caring being. I totally appreciate what they were able to accomplish for me, anytime I miss Mom I give a rub of that tattoo am reminded that I am loved. Phew, sorry to be a downer there, but it was an emotional day, and I needed to hear some kind words at that particular moment. I believe I was brought here for a reason. I would definitely come back and ask for Jeff to do my next tattoo. Also, not bad for this being my 2,700th review. Glad it could be this place.

I did my research and after consulting several artists Dooner here at Up in Arms was my final answer! Let me just say that being my first tattoo I was cautious in finding a good artist in a clean, comfortable location. I could go on and on but who likes to read a long review so let me just say, the staff and Dooner are professional and friendly and are there for YOU. The entire experience from scheduling to the preparation to the actual appointment including aftercare was seamless and simple. Yes you must get an appointment months in advance, but you can possibly get a walk in as well. I booked mine three months out but I also had a 5 hour piece of art. Dooner was exceptional and handled my anxiety like a champ. I felt comfortable the entire time other than the first tattoo jitters I'm sure most go through. The parlor was clean and comfortable with a great music selection playing. Conversation was easy and the entire experience, AWESOME! I highly recommend Dooner or his colleagues for your next art piece. You will be stoked as I've already had many people compliment me on mine. I am already considering a second piece, and I know where I'll be going
