At checkout, though it really is hit or mess. I had one person who totally messed up in order as though she didn't know what she was doing, and I had to doublecheck and triple check to make sure there wasn't a mistake on my credit card. However, I've had other times where a more senior person has been very reasonable in rectifying problems with merchandise. It's not my favourite location for layout and I left thinking I'd rather shop online where it's easier to find what you're looking for and there's more organization. I do like how MEC is back in Canadian hands now. As of May 16, it will be under majority Canadian ownership.

I have to say that they are super unorganized! One staff tells you to move the line this way. Then another staff comes and tells you to move the line back to the other way. They don't communicate with each other. Even when I got to the cashier, she was super confused and asked what is going on. There was a long line to pay even though they had like 3-4 cashiers. Not all products are worth it but I would say most items are great. Some items are on sale and some are not. If you wanna save a bit of money, then this location is worth a visit. If you can score your size, its definitely worth a visit. Plogging is jogging with picking up litters. However like this event organizer said, as they sells hiking shoes, not running shoes, we walked picking litters around Mount Pleasant area for 1.5-2 hours. We gathered quite a lot of litters and enjoyed walking with strangers. After we came back to the store, they served us nice refreshments (from neighbor bakery and coffee roasters!) and raffle for their jacket. $50 shopping voucher for all participants. What a generous gift! Repeating of pick and walk made me tired honestly but I'm glad they organized such wonderful event. I want to try next time too :)

Terrible customer service and the warranty. I have a Granville backpack which is less than a year…read moreold, and the fabric on the front cover is deteriorating significantly for a normal use. I called the customer service and they told me to bring in the backpack in a store, so they could ship it back to their head office in North Van for an inspection. When I took it back, the sales person asked me if I have washed the backpack. I was a bit puzzled and told her that I haven't. She then warmed me that they may charge me $15 for some kind of bad hygiene practice or another as the product hasn't washed and they need to inspect it as it is. I was thinking who would wash a backpack?! I asked her to make a note on the file that I cleaned the backpack, so that they can waive the charge. She then told me that it would take 4 - 6 weeks generously until they finish their inspection and get back to me on what they can do about it. This is my first time dealing with their warranty, however I dealt with Lululemon and Patagonia for their product not standing to be what they claimed, and they have always dealt with the issues immediately and made me happy. They have never made me wait for 4- 6 weeks. I have a quite few items from Arc'teryx, and I would like to support a company which started locally, however my experience was QUITE disappointing.
