I always get great service from knowledgeable staff. Products are of the highest quality. You pay for it but they stand behind them.

Such a good group of people working here. The jacket I bought last year has been the best jacket I've ever owned, love these guys.

I'm pretty glad that I did because I was able to score a few items from here. They had lots of selections. However, whatever sizes that are out is what they currently have in stock. There is an option to order your size and free shipping if you live in Canada. They do repairs in store. Cashiers were friendly but the staff on the floor not so much. I have to say that they are super unorganized! One staff tells you to move the line this way. Then another staff comes and tells you to move the line back to the other way. They don't communicate with each other. Even when I got to the cashier, she was super confused and asked what is going on. There was a long line to pay even though they had like 3-4 cashiers. Not all products are worth it but I would say most items are great. Some items are on sale and some are not. If you wanna save a bit of money, then this location is worth a visit. If you can score your size, its definitely worth a visit. Tips: *Metered street parking. *Credit card accepted. *Charges for a bag. *4 dressing rooms. *They sell limited kids items. *They have a few mirrors available outside that you can utilize to try stuff on.

How to begin the new year ... you might be thinking?…read more By being a survivalist of course ... without the paranoia! Look all around you as you go about your day - zombies aka Karens are everywhere! I lived in Scandinavia back in the day & I had an obsession with knifes & owned a tiny collection. There's lots of trees over there & I liked to carve up wood. I was excited & a big kid all over again (come to think of it I don't think I stopped being a kid ... some might say ... LOL) walking into Gorilla Surplus! It's located on Broadway right in-between Clark & Commercial Drive. It's situated in an old dilapidated shop that looks an old house that's on its last legs! You are not coming here for fine decor or an aesthetic pleasure experience! Why'd I pop in here you ask? Well of course because of the upcoming zombie invasion ... duh!!! Are we not entering into wave #5 & variant #23 or something like that!? Karens are losing their friggin minds & this prolonged pandemic doesn't seem to want to go away! Folks it's getting scary out there ... arm yourselves! Yikes! Many will remember the popular 3 Vets store that closed down in 2017. They used to sell quite the collection of knives & other sporting goods. GS has kinda stepped in as their replacement. GS also has a massive offering of Airsoft guns for all you BB gun enthusiasts, camo & regular survival gear, bags, hats, bear spray & batons - to ward off the zombies ... you know them as Karens! The sales dude with tatts all over him was very helpful & informative. In fact he lead me into buying an item I never in a million years would have thought to buy! I can't wait to use it! I picked up 2 items but I will never tell because Karens/Zombies could be reading this & I don't want to give them a heads-up! Hee! The crazies are here amongst us - people wake up!!! Brace yourselves ... winter is here! Happy new year - 2022 here we go!

Will shop online instead The long: - poorest staff knowledge among multiple TNF stores visited in the USA and Canada. The staff had the least idea about the winter jackets, did not know the difference between the winter jacket types, looked at the tags for any question I asked and could not find an answer for most questions. - submitted a jacket due to warranty issues. Process was cumbersome and lacks clarity. My email was incorrectly recorded and hence I didn't receive the notification once a decision was made on my jacket. The process took ~2 months. - good covid measures: sanitation station, staff wore masks, physical distancing - no dedicated parking, parking options are limited or expensive as it's downtown

I actually love North Face gear, but this store is useless…read more I think generally they have a great reputation as medium-high quality outdoor gear maker, and I have owned several jackets which I was quite happy with. I have consistently seen North face gear on sale at places like Atmosphere Sportchek, for much better prices than directly from North Face. What up??? This location is obviously best suited for confused tourists on a shopping spree. Anyone actually planning to do outdoor adventuring would shop elsewhere for better prices, and variety. Went today to look at sleeping bags. Nothing in stock. Great company but this particular store location is an abomination.

I would have given them five stars if they had called me back after I ordered a particular sized screen and went to the store a month later to find one sitting on the shelf. Perhaps writing orders on random pieces of paper isn't the best way to keep things organized.

When I walked in I felt out of place as most beginner snowboarders probably would feel. It just looked like a small, cramped board shop to me but compared to the other places, I'd take that over the stuffy, boutique type of shops the others seemed to be. Jess at West Coast was very helpful asking me questions to better hone in on what type of equipment would best suit me. She was super informative and didn't pressure me to commit to purchasing anything. In fact, she even told me to go to the other shops in the area to compare equipment and pricing. Pretty ballsy but it made me feel at ease right away. I went to all the other shops and no one made me feel comfortable about being there. Very few questions and assistance. Instead it almost felt like they were uptight because I may not have looked like a typical snowboarder. Needless to say I went back to West Coast and bought the lot, about $1500 worth of equipment. Then I put it to use going up to Whistler the next four days and loved every second of it. The board (Bataleon Goliath) performed great and my feet felt perfect throughout every run. Lastly, I would've given them 5 stars but the person helping my girlfriend with her ski boots was unknowledgeable and not a very big help to her. If you do go to this place go see Jess. There was another Aussie guy behind the counter that was giving his input and helping me out as well but I didn't catch his name. Mahalo, K

We did the entire 'snowboard alley' of W 4th and this place had by far the best deals. Not only were the prices better to begin with, they also carried more classic styles and colours in jackets and pants that suited my friend's fashion tastes. The staff were really helpful picking out a snowboard that was a great price, European-made and would last him for years. The graphics were pretty sweet, too. The board was freshly waxed and they set it up with the bindings in-store. In addition to already low prices and some sale items, the staff cut my friend a deal since he was buying a bunch of gear. It was the cherry on top! This shop also has non-snow-related sporting gear on the second floor.
