Of all the dive stores is the Greater Vancouver, this is one of the two that we use the most (the…read moreother one being much closer to home). The reason is the EXCELLENT customer service. We deal primarily with George and, if we have had any problems (eg a camera malfunctioning or a travel bag's wheels breaking) he has taken the item back immediately. Often they will replace the item or offer a store credit even before checking with the manufacturer if the return is ok. For this reason, we return again and again to purchase more equipment. They have a good selection of everything: wetsuits, drysuits with undergarments, and some novelty sale items from time to time including wetsuits or lightweight neon tropical BCDs. Their regular selection is standard-priced. They sell Mares rather than Scubapro and we bought some new fins, Volo Power, which are lightweight and easy to use at the suggestion of George, and have been pleased with them. Good selection of accessories as well. Dive and Sea also offers instruction, with open-water dives at Whytecliff in West Van, EFR training etc. Although the staff will make suggestions, I have never felt here as if I'm getting a "hard sell". It's a comfortable store and we always look forward to going there, even just to have a look around. (Dive stores are like candy stores, hard to leave without buying something!) To get to this place, you must be heading North on McBride as it's impossible to make a left turn heading south.

He was friendly, knowledgeable, so informative. He would never sell you anything you didn't need. He set us up with some great gear to travel with. Never did we ever feel pressured to buy. He listens your diving experiences and recommends appropriate equipment. Don't buy anywhere else, they are the best.

There is a wide variety of items and is a good place to find anything sports related from cycling, skiing, water sports, etc. Not so much if you're an elite athlete looking for the best but it is good for an average person. The prices are reasonable and competitive as well.

Disrespectful Service by Sim…read more I had a very disappointing experience at the Sport Chek store in Metropolis at Metrotown because of a sales associate named Sim. I was shopping for running shoes and comparing different styles, so I took a few display shoes from the rack and asked her for the available sizes. Instead of simply helping me, the first thing she said was that I needed to put all the shoes back on the wall. She repeated the same instruction again while handing me another pair of shoes, reminding me to put every shoe back in the box and on the wall after trying them. When I asked for another pair to compare, she questioned whether I was really going to take them out. Throughout my visit, I felt like I was being constantly reminded of the same thing instead of being treated like a customer looking to make a purchase. Before leaving, I carefully returned every shoe to its correct box and placed them back on the proper rack. While I was on my way out, I briefly stopped to look at a clearance display with my friends. At that point, Sim approached me yet again and asked if I had put all the shoes back on the wall. I was honestly shocked. A single polite reminder would have been completely understandable, but being asked the same question repeatedly felt insulting and disrespectful. Because of this experience, I left without buying anything and have no desire to return to this location.
