Jason is professional, patient, knowledgeable (about plumbing and Taylor codes), honest, and comparatively reasonable in price, so he has become my go-to for projects in the Taylor and surrounding areas. Jason fit me in to fix a major gas leak at my meter this week and repaired the main line to my house with a setup that even the Atmos gas technician said was very professional and allowed him to quickly test and complete the restarting of my gas service so I could get back to normal fast. Finally, I have learned to trust Jason beyond his reasonable pricing; he will tell you the truth with options and do the job right without any BS or upselling.

They also tried to sell me on new water heaters and rerouting of the drains and pipes.... as if the leak repair wasn't enough of a blow! I called the plumbers that I normally use, but they don't do this type of work and referred me to Rod Plumbing. Gustavo came out and used cameras to find the leak. He was extremely professional and explained everything. The next step is to get an estimate to fix the leak, so I'll just leave this here and update after the estimate and repair.... They've got you over a barrel when they come out and start throwing parts. This was an install of a drop in kitchen sink and faucet. He told me his hourly rate was 135 bucks. I was expecting to spend about 400 maybe 500. The final bill was 850. I feel I was overcharged on both the parts and labor. He charged me starting 45 min before he got there but still included a "truck charge." The removal and replace of the sink took 2 hours. To me the "clock" starts on the labor at the agreed upon arrival time. When I'm getting charged 439(!) bucks for parts on top of the sink and faucet itself, that extra charge for labor is quite unwelcome. I mean the sink and faucet itself that were "nice" were like 500 bucks. So almost that again just in parts. ‍ His answer in general as I look at these reviews is that he buys his parts from a plumber supply not Home Depot etc. I would have to research each individual part to see if its price point is "fair". A perusal of solid brass fittings and pvc p traps on the Lowe's site shows the price I paid was about doubled. He acted quite insulted that I wouldn't know just how much better his parts were and implied they were all but unavailable at big box stores. literally doubling what I expected to pay was quite a shock to say the least. When I contacted him, he said that he didn't even look at the schematic and charged me and additional $210 to move one water line two inches over so that my cabinet would fit. When I called for the final inspection (which he didn't even show up for), I had six fails on his plumbing. He wanted to charge me again to fix his errors, after already paying him over $4800 for my 2x1 cottage. Seriously, he wanted to charge additional to bring his plumbing up to code. The quality of his work is phenomenally poor. Mind you, this was a complete renovation and he worked from the studs, no drywall or obstacles. I hired another plumber to come in and fix his mistakes.
