Excellent environment, great bar setup, fresh sea food and most importantly the owner is usually always there working and I believe that's a big part of any successful business! I highly recommend the haddock, scallops and crab legs! Their deserts are very good also! read more

Took my niece to lunch here. I was excited to try it based off of the reviews. It's located in a strip mall in acton. The decor is cute and very appropriately themed. It took us a while to be sat when the restaurant was rather empty. Our waitress was just okay. Not overly friendly and the service was slow. I ordered a fish chowder to start and it was lukewarm bordering on cold. I would've had it sent back but our waitress wasn't readily available. I ordered the seafood casserole and I my niece had the fish tacos. The seafood casserole was bland bordering on tasteless. The fish was very overcooked. The tacos came in a large soft tortilla and my niece said it was tasty but was not visually appealing. I don't know if I would give this place another try. The food and service were both lackluster. They did have a nice fish market with reasonable prices which is why I am giving 3 stars instead of two. There are better options in the area for lunch. read more

Very nice seafood restaurant, we haven't been to in over a decade. The decor is cute, the had a busy bar area already around 4pm on a Saturday, only one seated in the main dining area, becoming full during the hour. The food was good, was tender, cooked well. It was somewhat cold at the hour I was there (the server and the woman behind my booth kept their coats on), and I think they could do with better ventilation as the smell of the seafood kind of permeated the dining area. Consistently good food and service. Since last review we have been here a number of times, usually bringing something home and not having room for dessert. This was the case on this visit. One of us had seafood casserole with onion rings and sweet potato fries. $42 seemed like a lot for this plate though the food was very good. There are less expensive options on the menu, such as the fish and chips which one of us had. Everything was seasoned exactly as requested with no salt assed. Katherine was our excellent server. I sat at the bar during lunch and, though it was the server's first day, she did an exceptional job. She was running around as it got busier but she made sure I was happy. Had a great lunch here last week. We sat on the deck so the views were great. Started with the North Atlantic Mussels served with the grilled bread, plenty of mussels and the broth was spoon worthy(!), waitress gladly provided extra bread on request so we could soak up the goodness. Decided on the Chopped Kale Salad and added the Tajin Seared Tuna for a protein, portion size on the tuna was my only reason for not giving this meal five stars. Service was friendly and prompt. Came here on a Saturday evening and the space was actually pretty busy at 6pm, but most patrons were leaving already. I'd say this restaurant has most of its customers come rather early as when we were leaving, it was pretty empty. Our waitress seemed friendly, but we found that we were treated pretty differently in terms of attentiveness ( she was nowhere to be found unless she sought us out to either take our order or bring food, never any time else ) and we also had to request bread, a commodity that every other table just received for free upon sitting down. Ordering was a fast enough process nonetheless and our food came out decently quick as well. The oysters and clams were pretty good quality, although I think a little pricy. Definitely would only order again if it was discounted. The chowder and mussels were decent appetizers as well - the chowder didn't stand out too much, but the mussels were flavorful enough. The pasta dish I got was delicious as well and I had more than enough for leftovers the next day. Overall, I would say this was a decent seafood spot, although the service was a little questionable. I wouldn't come back here as a first choice, but at least the food was pretty tasty. read more

Went here to celebrate a birthday and was planning to get the lobster but they were out of the 1.25 lb version and the 2 lb dish was running for something like $55. So we decided to get the stuffed flounder and cajun trout. The stuffed flounder was great as the flounder was nicely seared but the creamed spinach flavor seemed overpowering. The dish felt filling about halfway through. As for the trout, it was a bit disappointing. The fish was blackened too much and cajun flavor didn't pop like we expected it to. The mashed potatoes were excellent - one of the best I've ever had. Its portion size was ginormous and I got to take some leftovers home. Green beans were also very fresh and light. Overall, the entrees were not worth the price. Sides were fantastic though. read more

The food isn't bad, but they consistently get our takeout orders won't somehow. Inevitable they forget something or get something wrong. Also some things are priced insanely. Grilled shrimp - for $30 we got only 6 shrimp. $22 gets 12 fried shrimp. That makes no sense. When we asked, they said the grilled shrimp were larger... but we were looking at an order of each; if there was a size difference, it was pretty subtle. I had the urge for fish and chips and asked my spouse to go with me. I have eaten here before. The definite geriatric vibe to the clientele was as I remember, but I am older too, so that is just fine. I would say the food is quite good. Not spectacular, but a good solid experience. My chowder was good and the clams were not tough, which is something one does not encounter often. Fried oysters were also good. My fish was moist, and the fried crust was flaky and enjoyable. We went for my birthday tradition of eating a lobster. In addition I had a bowl of mussels. GF had swordfish, and bacon wrapped scallops. The mussels were excellent and the portion was large enough that light eaters might have called a meal by itself. Her scallops were good but the portion was on the small side, only about 10 scallops. I then had the two pound lobster which was also excellent, though with a very hard shell (which was very well filled, obviously a lobster that probably would have shed soon) Her swordfish was good, but looked smallish. We then had deserts - she had bread pudding w/ ice cream, good. I had "Chocolate Mouse" cake - a chocolate cake filled w/ mousse - joke was that the chocolate shell was molded into a mouse shape on top.. Very good. Service was good, waitress was friendly and helpful. It did take quite a while when we came in to get seated. Timing on food delivery was a bit problematic, my lobster came out when I was only about half way done w/ the mussels. Ambiance was reasonable, well lit and modern, w/ various appropriate nautical pictures and gear but nothing overly fancy. Only downside was 'sticker shock' - two people, one drink each, appetizers, main course and desert came to $230 w/ tip... Granted lobster is expensive, and we didn't pick the cheapest options otherwise, but still.... read more

Atlantic Sea Grill is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking, convenient to my friend, so I decided to pop in to pick up lunch for the two of us one Saturday. Fortunately their lunch menu is offered daily till 4pm. Take-out is handled in the back at their seafood market. I felt very welcome and well taken care of by every employee I came across. First up, their Soup & Sandwich combo $19, Freshly baked croissant stuffed with our lobster salad and your choice of soup or chowder. Terrific tender croissant. The lobster was fresh and sweet, I just wish there was more of it, and that some tail meat would have been included. The bowl of chowder was willingly split into two cups for our convenience. It was decently hearty, though it had a spicing that differentiated it from Legal's version. The Maryland Crab Cake Burger $18 came on a nice brioche roll and was served with fries and coleslaw, which I exchanged for the day's vegetable (a sweet and tasty butternut squash mash) and upgraded to sweet potato fries which they offered to fry as crisp as I would personally like. The sides were both good, but the crab cake was more filler than I prefer, and the meaty chunks weren't all that impressively lumpy. Still, it was a nice comforting meal, and I would definitely be up for a return visit. read more

Mo (bartender) is such a professional, he and the staff took great care in making sure everything served was safe for me, which is a huge deal when you have celiac. Went out to lunch with my family after Eid celebration. Called ahead to RSVP for party of 8. To their credit, found they had gotten a large table setting ready prior to our arrival. Service was ok, waitress was polite, knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating, maybe because we went at noon on a Monday, so had the place to ourselves. Restaurant had a nice ambiance, well lit, even on an overcast day. Review is missing stars because of the food, which was a mixed bag. Fried calamari was fine (but tentacle pieces were mostly breading), but shrimp scampi was missing garlic. Mixed seafood grill dish was VERY small portions, and had a piece of salmon that didn't taste fresh at all. Fish and chips also didn't taste fresh, but coleslaw was good, not drowning in mayo and salt. Garlic mashed potatoes tasted like instant regular mashed potatoes out of the box, but grilled asparagus was good, got a good 5 or 6 stalks, nice and thick. Dishes are overpriced, considering the portions, quality, and area (more like the kind of prices you'd find in Newton or Brookline). Most of the dishes tasted like frozen food that was thawed and cooked. Chicken tenders were actually good, not too salty. Complaint about unfresh food was met with a $5 bag of biscotti. Came home with a stomachache. We went a half hour out of our way to come here, and spent about $300 for a "Meh" experience. In short, I don't recommend this restaurant, not worth the drive or the cost. read more

My wife had the regular haddock tacos, I had the blackened swordfish tacos. Incredible. 2nd visit we each had Haddock sandwich on lunch special. Huge piece of Haddock. Delicious. The oysters were good, but not as fresh as last time so I'm glad we didn't go overboard and order too many like I usually do. Very nicely appointed restaurant and fish market. Their seafood is always fresh and flavorful and it is obvious that their dishes are prepared with care, never under or over done. For years we went to Legal in Framingham, mostly out of habit I guess. How silly we were not to take advantage of this wonderful restaurant just on the other side of town. I hadn't been here for years because I rarely eat out locally. A friend treated me to dinner at the Atlantic Sea Grill and what a treat it was! There was a scallop dish on their evening "specials" which we both ordered. It was supposed to be pan seared served over lemon/sundried tomato risotto. We arrived before dinner hour and the risotto was not yet ready. I asked if the dish could be made with pasta instead. They made linguini and served it with the lemon/sundried tomatoes. I think it was a better choice than risotto - lucky us! There were also a few bits of spinach on the dish, plenty of perfectly cooked scallops and a very rich lemon butter sauce. It was so delicious and a very generous portion. I didn't need an appetizer, but I love lobster bisque. It was also delicious and had noticeable pieces of lobster in it. Unusually good.
