The old lady that works there was unexpectedly rude during an unprompted interaction. With no eye contact or interaction between us she walked up to be and began speaking to me. When I looked up I was just confused because I wasn't even sure she was talking to me or the other person who also walked up next to me on the other side. When I didn't respond her attitude escalated and she spoke to me in a condescending, "talking at" manner, as if I didn't understand English. The completely unprovoked rudeness was so unwarranted.

First off they required her to call to initiate an exchange, which there's no justification. When she did they refused to exchange it because it had been more than 30 days since my purchase. I could *possibly* understand not refunding a gift after 30 days -- even though that's a bad policy and outside modern standards. But not exchanging an unused product for a size that fits? What exactly do they expect her to do? Worst customer service experience I can remember. We'll never buy another Athleta product again.

I explained my foot problems as I had just returned from my Podiatry Dr Visit. Explained my need for the ideal shoe for work and for non-working days. All the while as I'm trying on shoes she set me up to try, she's juggling other customers graciously and successfully, also stocking shoes. I felt very relieved and happy with my purchases. I highly commend her in her customer service and professionalism. P.S. Several other employees on the floor were pleasant and greeting customers. Really love the store layout, not sterile, has personality to it, the variety of sports items, apparel, shoes, and was even pleasant enough with the air-conditioning and fans on. Can't give it 5 Stars, though. Would love to, but this place has more items missing price tags than Grocery Outlet! Mentioned it to a couple of the employees, one replied there are "some items" where that is true ( more than some ), and another assured me that the items I was referring to had price tags on them. Yeah, No! At least in the energy bars / nutrition / protein powders / hydration packs, etc. department. Yes, there are some stickers designating price / bar and price / box, which IS helpful, then...a row or two or three of suddenly no price tags. And look at it this way, if you're going to put in the effort to label containers with expiration dates like "5/27" ( which seems like the store did in the spirit of good customer service ), then you CAN actually make the effort to clarify to the customer what item is what price. ( Why does this seem like basic Common Sense here, and if managers are not on top of this problem, then that is on them. I spent too much time walking the aisles, trying to find pricing, asking for help to scan items, discovering more things without pricing. Fix that problem ASAP. Or install a scanner in parts of the store for customers to utilize on their own. ) Overall, check out the store. Here's another reason why: I observed (2) separate employees, one younger 20's male in the running shoe department, one latter 20's female in the ski boot department, personally attending to customers, giving their input on products, doing some old-school sales and persuasion. Although there is a limited section of cute women's clothes too. Joe K. chose this place as his most favorite shop for the purchase of a specific type and brand of shirts that fit him comfortably and endures well as casual or work attire. They have a good selection of colors and sizes for most body types. Their wall of printed T-shirts are colorful and eye catching which can make a statement or proudly display your favorite sport's team. A large supply of ball caps located on the opposite wall, come in various colors with or without sports logos. I also noticed some nice work out gear, including attractive tops and bottoms for women. They seem to have a little bit of everything for those who like to be subtly fashionable with casual comfort in mind. Unfortunately, there are no dressing rooms, so I was hesitant to try anything on. But the prices are reasonable and the owner is very helpful and friendly. Needless to say, Joe is a frequent customer, and now upon my first visit with him, I can see why.
