I recently attended the leggings swap event at Tyson's Corner, like the other reviewer. I received several emails/texts about the event and so I registered, while noting the #s in my party. We got there at 10AM (when it started) but entered through the Macy's entrance. When we got to Athleta, there was already a huge line snaking its way inside the mall, they must have entered thru a main mall entrance. While I agree with the recent reviewer that the lines were organized, but while waiting in line, some people said THEY didn't register and were sent emails advising, they could come on over, without registering. To make matters worse, after waiting 2.5 hours and having multiple employees come to the line and take counts, when we got to the front of the line to exchange the old leggings for the new ones. We were told "it's over, we only had 500 and we ran out". That's it, no apologies, no warning they were running low, nothing, just a dismissive go away attitude. So infuriating! They still had leggings on the table and after asking, they said they would offer a 20% discount, if we exchanged leggings and with a purchase. How dare them! No thanks, I could get that any time, without waiting 2.5 hours. There was also still a big line behind us. What a joke! What was the point of pre-registering if everyone could just show up? And what was the point of having several employees do a count? They seemed to be lacking in their counting skills since their numbers were way off. Although the idea was noble and good, the execution of the event was terrible. Shame on Athleta! read more

I went into the store looking for pants and the sales lady, Bergen was AWESOME. Another sales lady, Estelle asked me if I needed help and I told her I needed a petite pants and she said we don't have it and walked away. Bergen came back to check up one in the fitting room asking me how the pants fit and I asked if you have a petite and she brought me a petite size. Estelle did not go above and beyond. read more

Was Christmas shopping - bought an item - sign said 30% off - the clerk told me that the markdown was already 30% off. Went home to look on the website - item was to be an additional 30% off. Called the store - manager, Mike, said the sale started the next day. My item was 'final sale' and couldn't qualify for the discount. Yeah - Merry Christmas. Won't shop there again. Beware or check on-line first. Why have a storefront if you have no customer service skills. Better deals and qualify elsewhere. read more

Pleasant visit. Heather and other staff person whose name starts w an N were open, friendly and helpful. I came to make an exchange for an online order and they ordered a replacement (at 5 ft 7 I need tall sizes) to have shipped to my home. The transaction was smooth and easy. Despite the store about to close I didn't feel rushed. Thank you. Store is neat, although with so many items, it was a bit overwhelming. Still I'd return here instead of Georgetown if I need to visit a store before the Rockville MD (planned) opens. read more

Athleta hosted a Balance & Brunch this past Sunday. The yoga section with Toni was an amazing workout and meeting Santeria, the founder of The Fibroid Foundation was such a treat. Everything was great until I got to the register and dealt with a rude employee. I was checking out and had a poor attitude the entire time she assisted me. She seemed new but regardless of the length of time employed, this is not an excuse. You will never catch me inside this store again! What a nightmare! On the upside of things, the items were very comfortable and I'm happy with my purchase. I'm definitely shopping online to avoid this mess for future athletic wear needs. read more

I enjoy Athleta apparel and find the quality to be great. The service at this location however ... Shop online! I went in today as I happened to be at Tysons for a work event. I went in and there were two other customers in the store, so not extremely busy by any means. I was just browsing, but with the intent to purchase at least $500 worth of product as I just lost a significant amount of weight and don't have much that fits. Never once was I greeted or acknowledged by the staff, and I was in the store for at least 15 minutes. I was browsing for sizes, trying to make eye contact with the staff as I couldn't find the size I wanted, but with no avail. When one of the employees literally came right next to me to bend over me to get something and still couldn't acknowledge my existence I was done. Your staff needs customer service training. No wonder more people are shopping online ... read more

Tried to find out how much was on my gift card, the people in the front were helpful but the girl training a new associate by the cash register looked as if I had interrupted a serious conversation. It was pretty rude and my card didn't even work so she basically shoo'd be out to find out for myself. read more

I had a very poor experience here recently. I had a return and even told the girl working at the cash register I was looking to make another purchase to replace the return. That did not prompt her to find me help or guide me towards a new product. The staff working that day was particularly good at avoiding eye contact as to not be approached. I had to seek people out to help me, and they still were less than enthused to do so. The dressing room attendant was also MIA often when going to try on clothes. I do however like Athleta's policy that you can return clothing after a work out if it doesn't work for you. read more

Over the years, Athleta has definitely grown on me. I didn't have an Athleta near me before I moved to the area, but now that I've experienced the in-store experience, I've kind of become obsessed. I love that Athleta is very much athletic wear as well as street wear. I find most of their pieces to be very versatile. Unlike their competitors, Athleta has occasional sales and pretty distinct mark-downs (and an occasional 20% off on top of that!). I also find Athleta's quality to be the best. I've owned pants and tops from their competitors for years, and most of them end up pilling after a few washes. I absolutely love their 100% satisfaction guarantee - you can wear it, try it out, and if you're not happy with it, just bring it back and they will either return or exchange it for you without any questions. That's so important to me. So far, I haven't had to use this feature since I've loved everything I've bought from this store. I also love that if they do not have your size or the item that you want in store, they can order it for you and it will ship to your house within a day or so for free. So convenient! This particular store is absolutely awesome. They almost always have the stuff I'm looking for (because I shop their catalog a lot but I generally like to try stuff on in person before I purchase them). There's a great variety of products and the sales associates are very welcoming without being overbearing. Make sure to check out their sale section! I always find great deals there. read more

Tried to buy a couple items from this location. Great clothes, terrible service from a girl who looked like the store manager. Had a couple questions for the store since I'm not from Virginia.. I was addressed begrudgingly. And everyone at checkout experienced sighs and eye rolls from this girl. She definitely did not want to be there. And frankly, neither did I after experiencing this. read more

The customer service here is top notch. They also have a very generous return policy - you can take back used merchandise at any point! The styles aren't particularly unique, but they do have a wide range of sizes, and the stock is usually full. The only downside is the price - just as high as lululemon. They do have some sale items, but even those prices are more than I usually pay for workout attire. I can get tanks, jackets, shorts, and leggings at Nike or Under Armour outlets for less than $20/each, so it's hard to justify $60 for pants and jackets on sale. read more

Very happy with my shopping experience here! I've looked at the catalog for years but never made a purchase. My friends swears by Athleta and brought me here when I was visiting. Wow. The quality of the clothes is really top notch. I found a lot of things that fit me well. I wanted a pair of lounge/ airplane/ run errands pants. I tried on a few but they all looked weird on me. The salesgirl recommended another pant that had a lower rise (that I hadn't seen) and they were perfect. Very happy. She made my whole shopping experience much easier! Seriously... I've worn something I bought at this store at least twice a week for the past few weeks. I'm so happy I finally took the plunge and bought several items! I've washed (and dried) everything several times and they still look fantastic. I bought a dress, a top, a skirt and a pair of pants. I'm looking forward to trying their workout clothes also. I'm definitely coming back here when I visit again (there's no store in San Diego!?!). read more

Welcome to the DC area Athleta. I've enjoyed the convenience of an actual store location in Georgetown for the last year, so it is nice to see how Athleta has expanded to the 'burbs of Tysons and Reston more recently this year. The Tyson's location is quite smaller than GT, but plenty of key offerings and the same superb customer service throughout. I'm a fan of their return policy, to help ensure you absolutely LOVE their product and it fits and performs just right. The sales personnel are quite helpful and quick to go out of their way to look up additional items and sizes online to make your shopping experience positive and efficient. Our family is genetically longer in the arms and legs proportionally than the "average" so I was happy to find a store that routinely stocked long items that weren't also wider. The customer service at this store is top notch. When I explained what I was looking for, the sales rep found a selection of items for me. They know their product line. The quality and prices are on a par with Lululemon and Lucy but with better customer service. The difference was truly listening to what I wanted. I've never had the need to return items. read more

Waited patiently for 10 minutes to do a return. I did not have my receipt and told cashier that. But that I had the info on my phone. After trying to find the info I was asked to "step aside" so the cashier could take care of someone else because I "wasn't ready. " I said no and she moved to another register and started helping another person. When I protested she did a big eye roll and looked at her coworker like I was being unreasonable. The coworker then found the info right away and got the return done. I'm pretty sure if I were making a purchase this wouldn't t have happened . I'm still stunned at the lack of professionalism from the woman who identified herself as the manager. I won't be back. read more

I do not recommend going to this location! Management (Sarah) is rude and dishonest. I brought back a defective pair of tights (zipper fell out) and the manager refused to help me, told me to leave, and said I was "manipulating them to get what I want" and I was a "bully". No way to treat or talk to a customer-I will never go back there. read more

Athleta in RTC recently opened in June but has already established itself in the town center community. The brand competes with other high-end athletic/active wear for women like the oh so popular, Lululemon, but offers a lot more. This location offers free yoga and zumba classes and also an active walking club. Athleta offers 30% for trainers of any sport or activity. The store is set up for easy shopping with distinct focal points: yoga, run/gym, to and fro, and hike or swim (seasonal). read more

I came in this Athleta location looking for a S'well bottle that the Athleta website said they had in the store. I didn't immediately see the waterbottle out on the floor. I asked the store associates and they went in the back of the store and were able to find it for me. I mentioned that it was going to be a gift, so they made sure to put Athleta stickers over where the price was included on the box and on the actual bottle itself where there was another price sticker. They also provided me with extra tissue paper to wrap the bottle in because they knew I would be giving it as a gift. Throughout all of this, the store associates were so friendly and personable despite the fact that the store was closing soon. Overall, the customer service at this location was wonderful! read more

Wow, what a terrible experience. Awful service and poor selection. Went to get a birthday present for my wife with my 8 and 10 year old daughters. An easy sale. Instead, we were ignored and passed over by who I think were supposed to be 'sales staff' many times before we decided to take our $$ across the way to Nordstrom. Every time I come in here all of the salespeople are on the register doing returns. Open more stores or hire more people. It make a 2 minute transaction take 30! Absolutely no reason to have to wait this long. You can tell people do more returns than purchase in the store because everyone else I am standing in line with is doing a return as well and the cash wrap is a mess filled with returns. I hate going to Tysons anyway and this has now made me late for an appointment read more

Really great active and athletic wear. The staff is friendly and attentive and the prices are more forgiving than Lululemon. I really love the pockets in some of their athletic tights. I bought a pair to wear during a 10 mile race and the pocket kept my iPhone secure to my thigh the whole time. Satisfaction is guaranteed! If you buy something and aren't satisfied (even after wearing it), you can return it for a full refund. I didn't have to return a thing. I loved all my purchases! read more

I had a horrible experience with customer service. The sensor was left on my item and I dd not notice till I got home. I don't live in va. When I called the manager she was not nice at first but told me I could mail back the item. I did not want to pay shipping on their mistake so I brought the shirt back . The sales persons response to my situation was " oh". I promptly returned the shirt and will never shop at that location ever again. The manager clearly needs to work on customer service ! read more

I received an athleta gift card for Christmas from my sister and mother online which they printed out from the athleta website. When I decided to use the $150 gift card in April, I found out that there was no money on the card because the money had been stolen in January by someone who hacked into it. When I called athleta, they informed me of the stolen money and said there was nothing they could do about it. I think they should at least pay me $150 back for having a weak enough system for it to be hacked into. read more

I'm very dissappointed. On Wednesday 10/21, I bought a pair of athleta yoga pants for my daughter. They didn't have them in the store, so the staff said that I could pay $17 and get them by Christmas. It's 9:44 on Christmas eve and the tracking shows they'll arrive on the 28th (even though they're in some wearhouse less than 30 miles away). This was my daughter's biggest gift.
