Food was delicious and generous portions. Staff was accommodating to a large group. The feeling of the grill was of authentic greek.

As a Kraken season ticket holder, I knew I needed a pre-game spot for dinner. Stopped on by before the Habs came to town, and I've been here before every single game since. Absolutely perfect fare for pre game, between the meat skewers and dolmades, to the souvlaki and moussaka. And of course, a Mythos or two. Wonderful menu, wonderful people, wonderful restaurant. read more

Amazon Greek food in lower Queen Anne's. The Greek salad was super fresh and came with some pita to much on, which I liked. I also tried the pork gyro, which was very delicious and filled with a good amount of meat. My only modification was to add feta to the gyro but other than that, it was great! The service was also very good and attentive. Highly recommend this spot. read more

It was all around, "okay." The food was great, the service was quick. But that might be because we were the only two in there. There was nothing really spectacular about this place. The best Greek food in Seattle, Olympic salad is amazing ! Place is very warm and welcoming.

My sales team & I wanted to grab lunch & one of my colleagues suggested we go to Athina Grill. I went w/ their gyro pita sandwich & Greek fries. The gyro pita sandwich consists of ground lamb, beef, tzatziki sauce, red onions, & tomatoes. I've been exploring different culinary food lately so Greek food isn't something I've had much before. So far every place I've tried has been great & this restaurant is no exception. From the pita sandwich to the Greek fries, it all tasted great! read more

It has been a million years (exaggerate much? Yes, yes I do) since I've been to Athina but I'm so pleased I returned. Searching for some pre-Storm grub, we decided to return to Athina. So, so glad we did. The food is actually better than I remember, reasonably priced and quite delicious. I'm a falafel snob and Athina has some special magic sprinkled into these nuggets of love. Each falafel was perfectly fried, had tremendous flavor (not always the case, bland falafel is the bane of my eating existence) and was perfectly proportioned on my sandwich. I added some Greek salad for a few bucks, which was tasty except for the dressing bath. Next time I ask for it on the side, to take it to 4.5 stars. My partner had the chicken which he declared "fantastic" and service really brought it home. Thanks Anthina, promise we won't wait so long to return. read more

Athina Grill - Delightful Greek salad w/ added falafel. Yum! Remember to ask for dressing on the side. - Greek Near Me - Seattle, Washington

There were three Greek Mediterranean restaurants in the neighborhood. I chose the wrong one. I ordered the lemon rice soup and a gyro dinner. Soup was very watery. All broth. No rice. Other restaurants add chicken. Not here. Gyro had very little meat and was served warm not hot. Food taste was also mediocre. I thought a gyro and staple soup would be a good bet. The restaurant has twelve tables. Only one table was seated at 7pm. That should have been a warning sign on a Saturday night. I think there are better options. I'd pass on this restaurant. read more

Food so good, I forgot to take a photo! I loved their veggie pita sandwich with the avgolemono soup side! Really good quantity of side order of soup. Their gyro dinner and lamb souvlaki pita sandwich was also delicious! I just genuinely want to recommend this place. Right balance of spice, flavor and freshness. Service and ambience add to the overall experience. read more

This is a lovely neighborhood restaurant! Being a lover of Greek salads, they have one of my favorites in the city, especially with the grilled chicken. I've been coming here ever since it opened with the original owner who's name was actually "Athina". I see so many retired people stopping off in the afternoon for a mid day lunch and a glass of wine. read more

There are three Mediterranean spots in the area, and for some reason it took us almost 3 years to finally try this one... and we feel like dummies now because this one is the best! Their prices are on point, the gyros is super legit/fresh, and it's the only 1 out of the three that has a huge menu with tons of variety! I love that you can have the breadth of Mediterranean food here without being stuck getting the same pita sandwich over and over again. Don't miss their Greek fries or the dips! Still working my way through the menu but so far haven't been disappointed! read more

I'm a huge Greek food lover and was excited to try one of the few Greek places I hadn't yet sampled in Seattle. After one lunch here, though, I'm not sure if I'll return. I ordered the Greek salad with gyro meat. If you're hungry, this portion size is no joke--I was totally full. But the quality is what I found lacking. I make Greek salad at home almost every day, and one thing I never thought I would find in a Greek salad was sweetness. Are they sugaring the sauces here? Weird. Also, there was no tzatziki. I'm sure if I'd asked for it, they'd have brought me some, but usually every gyro salad I've had came with tzatziki. Last but not least, the gyro meat was ample but overcooked. On the plus side, I don't think it was just pre-sliced stuff from a freezer, which is nice. But on the bad side, some of the edges were definitely over-cooked and a bit leathery. read more

Quiet and unassuming, Athina Grill was a pleasant surprise in our ongoing search of late dinner eats. Open until 10PM, we swung by Athina for an alternative to the typical late night bar fare. What's not to like about generous portions at reasonable prices? So far, we've tried the following: - Greek Salad with Gyro - This salad is easily shareable with its large serving. The dish comes with a side of pita bread, and I added gyro for a little protein . :) I loved how light, and yet filling it was and enjoyed the vinaigrette dressing immensely. - Gyro Pita - Your traditional gyro pita sandwich, the dish comes with a side of fries, which you can upgrade to Greek fries if desired. - Gyro Dinner - It's essentially a "deconstructed" gyro (haha!) - a great option if you aren't really looking to use your hands :) - Greek Fries - How do these fries stay so crispy?! As people say, it's "betta with feta". ;) Another great dish to share! Every time we visit Athina, we leave with happy stomachs and wallets. The sizes make each dish easily shared - a side of Greek fries and two Gyro Pitas would be more than enough for my boyfriend and I. Parking can be a bit tricky, only because it's entirely street parking near and around the restaurant. I can definitely see Athina Grill becoming a go-to for great-tasting Greek eats! read more

I want to like this place, I really do. It is convenient for me to walk to from work. They used to be better. While I don't think it's great to leave a negative review for a restaurant right now during this time, I'm hoping they will change their ways. The staff is always nice and helpful. I was very disappointed last week. I ordered a Greek salad with gyro to go. It's pretty large, and plenty of meat. A bit overdressed for my liking, and the meat a bit greasier than usual. I ate half of it, and then was over it. Unfortunately, I was very uncomfortable for the next 12 hours or so. Something was not right and my stomach was in slight pain. I don't know if the meat was out too long or the lettuce had issues, but I was the one with issues, and I left early from work to alleviate myself at home. read more

Pretty good. Both my wife and I enjoyed the Spanakopita dinner. It was a generous portion and served with a rice dish that was great and pita bread. The other side dish, though, was a peas/carrots dish that was in a kind of greasy sauce. The peas/carrots tasted straight out of a can (shades of my childhood). Overall very good, but need a bit of work on the sides (I'd suggest hummus replacing the veggies). Service was very good! read more

Been here a few times over the years and I really enjoy this spot for lunch. It gets a little busy around noon so it may be a last minute decision to get your lunch to-go. Always a friendly greeting when you arrive, be sure to order at the counter then grab a table from there. I've typically been sticking to my usuals with the Gyro Pita and Chicken Pita. Greek fries are pretty awesome so be sure to check that out as an option with your pita. Gyro meat and the chicken has always been tasty & flavorful. Good sized portion for lunch that won't make you take a nap under your desk. Nice little Greek spot in LQA, friendly staff and good prices! Definitely will keep coming back! read more

Need some Greek than you'll find that this lower Queen Anne place will fill your needs. For the pita sandwich lover I must say I'm a huge fan of the chicken souvlaki sandwich here. Chicken is grilled but very moist and served in fresh pita along with onions, tomatoes and fresh tzatziki sauce. Also the gyro sandwich is good but not my favorite item on menu. Greek salad is worth ordering but very basic yet flavorful. As a french fry connoisseur the greek fries perfect and laced in feta. Makes me want to yell OPA! The rest of the menu is basic greek cuisine you either love it or not. But a place worth checking out when in the area. read more

To the server who waited on us.... I am sorry you hate your job, your life, the restaurant, and being social. It makes your customers uneasy that you do not smile, you are not friendly, and that you serve food that tastes like it was from 9:00 AM (or earlier) when it was 6:00 PM that I ate.... I want to like this place... I kind of do but kind of don't. It's a cute Greek place that is known for their lamb burgers. I personally think their lamb burgers are good, but not the best thing ever. It is tasty and juicy though for less than 8 bucks. I ordered their gyro dinner plate ($10.99) which comes with a lot (meat, rice, veggies, tzatziki sauce)... however, it did taste old. Nothing tasted fresh about the dish at all. Food had tons of flavor, but still tasted close to a rubbery meat texture. It was not fresh at all. The rice had flavor and I the pita tasted like a pita. The hummus was a dollar extra, and unfortunately, I have had better. I didn't even eat it after ordering it. The bathroom--I heard was so unique and almost nostalgic-like.... but to be honest, it's just a bright-blue painted bathroom that tries to take you back somewhere....but it's just a blue room with a toilet. Lol... sorry, I don't really find it special. Overall, the service was just okay. A very unenthusiastic and angry looking server made the experience a bit lacking in ambiance of any particular sort. Food is cheap and portions will leave you full...but the quality is just alright. read more

Stopped here for a late night dinner because it was one of the only places open and it was right near the hotel I was staying at. Boy, am I glad I did! I absolutely love Greek food, and did not have too high of expectations for just a hole-in-the-wall place like this. The service was not too bad. I did have to wait for what felt like a very long time for the food, and the place was pretty much empty. However, that could have been because they were about to close/ they were understaffed/etc. I got a Falafel Platter, asked for no cheese. They put cheese on my salad, and then gave me a separate salad? It was not a big issue though. The food was very very good. Best part? Got the whole freaking plate for just $5! It came with a Greek salad, hummus, rice, falafel, hummus, and pita bread. A TON of food for that price. Falafel can be hit or miss for me, but that is some dang good falafel. My boyfriend, who does not really eat Greek food, got a Gyros pita and enjoyed it too. This place exceeded my expectations and I am sad that I live in Arizona and can't come here all the time, because if I lived in the area, I so would! read more

BIRTHDAY BUZZ KILL....For those of you who are looking for a traditional Greek cuisine experience - keep on searching....,because you won't find it here! I came to the Athina Grill for my birthday and it was a total disappointment! I was hoping they had Kleftiko (Roast Lamb) on the menu, but they didn't. When I confirmed that with the waitress, she just said "NO" with zero explanation and zero other option suggestions. I wouldn't say that she was rude, but nothing special - fake smile at best. I had my heart set on lamb, so I ordered the lamb souvlaki on skewers instead. When the plate came to the table, everything was warm - not hot. I also noticed the plate did not have the traditional roast potatoes either. Instead, it had this weird bowl of peas and carrot soup. It tasted like it was out of a can and something I have never been served in a Greek restaurant before!!! I asked the waitress about the missing roast potatoes - and apparently, they don't make those either. To be honest, the lamb was seasoned and cooked okay - but nothing to write home about. The only item that was traditionally Greek was the two glasses of Retsina wine I drank to lessen my disappointment. I don't understand some of these comments overusing the words "Awesome" and "Amazing" to describe the food here - because it's absolutely NOT! Either these commenters have never had REAL Greek food before or their taste buds are too accustomed to eating fast food? It does not look like this restaurant is Greek operated either. However, the restaurant itself is clean and painted in the traditional blue and white colors and there's also Greek music playing in the background - all of which you will find in a traditional Greek restaurant. Unfortunately, that's where the traditions end! read more

This is one of a handful of the best Greek places in town. Yes, they do serve gyros, but they serve a lot of real food too, and they do it in a real sit-down restaurant setting. It's a bit of a diner, with the menu up on a big greaseboard near the counter, and the menus being laminated two-sided affairs. The seating is mostly banquette with facing chairs. But that doesn't detract from the fact that this is a real sit-down place, especially since you're paying very reasonable prices on Queen Anne. Most importantly, the food and the service are both pretty great here. Our server was friendly and fast, never missing a step despite getting a steady runup of tables continually right after we sat down. The food was great. My buddy had a gyro (he often goes for the familiar), and I had the lamb souvlaki meal (I often go for the familiar, too, it just often involves grilled lamb when I can get it). The lamb was tender and flavorful with just enough little streaks of charring on the outside. There was some tasty tzatziki with it, along with some good saffron rice and some peas and carrots and pita points. Nothing revolutionary, but a good value for $12--great value for that price in this neighborhood IMO. They have a couple decent beers, a couple Greek wines, and fountain pop. The gyro was really tasty, and the lemon-rice soup I had beforehand was delicious. All in all this is a place I will hit again and again, especially with a good theater being right across the street. Cool spot. read more

When I think Greek, I think of being on my belly on the deck of a ship, crying my eyes out and just wanting it to be over. When I think Greek FOOD however, I think Athina. First off, there are no better gyros in this city. Some come close, but these are the best. Same goes for the hummus. A cold Mythos and a gyro (or the yummy gyro salad) has become one of my on-the-way-home-from-work meals of choice of late and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I think I've tried every pita by now and each one seems better than the last, with the Lamb Souvlaki rising to the very top of my favorites list. I also highly recommend the pork loin in wine sauce - there are just no words. When in Uptown, do as the Romans. Athena will not disappoint. read more

Wow, they give you mighty plump lamb kebobs at a good price. You know, I really may have to succumb and get a IPhone with GPS. We found Athina based on Yelp's Iphone app, which gave us the locations of nearby restaurants as we were walking. It also updated the results factoring in where we were right at that moment - and it did this in just a couple clicks! This past Sunday was Liz's and my first visit to a very smoky Hempfest at Myrtle Edwards Park. I had no idea how huge this event was, or how much law enforcement would totally look the other way. For the record, we did not get baked. Even though the food booths looked decent (and, of course, they had a booth where they were selling bags of candy), we preferred the idea of a sit-down meal, so out came Yelp to search for a place to eat on Lower Queen Anne where we had parked. I'm always down for Greek food, and I liked that the restaurant's name was the same as a cool tuxedo cat with huge eyes (but spelled "Athena") that I had several years back. Cutely decorated with comfortable ambience. They let us pick our table, so we sat by the spacious windows. Service was pretty good, and the glasses of ice tea and water were big. We both started with a side Greek salad. It came sprinkled with Feta cheese and a nice vinagerette dressing. Our souvlaki plates arrived with yellow rice, a pea and carrot dish, pita bread, tzatziki dressing and two lamb kebobs. The peas and carrots came in a nice sauce. I also liked the tzatziki. Flavored with dill, it was tart with a yogurt texture. The portion of lamb was very generous. Even though the food had muted flavors, overall, a satisfactory dining experience. read more

These folks took over the space between the Mecca and Roti. It was once a World Wrapps or some such nonsense. I ordered a Gyro and fries to go. They were both still hot and tasty by the time I got them home. The fries were REALLY good. They were perfectly crispy and flavorful. But, they were just tossed in the box with the Gyro so they were kinda tossed around by the time I got home. The Gyro was yummy. The pita was soft and fluffy and delicious. The meat was just regular old Gyro meat and there was a generous portion of feta included. The tzatziki sauce is what made this Gyro better than average. It was tart and creamy and I could really taste the cucumber. Breakfast is served from 9am until 3pm. Oh, and they have a small beer and wine selection. Yay for Gyros and beer! read more

4 star reviews in urban villages seem to be a gamble. We've been on a such a roll with Greek, I felt we could do no wrong and pointed us here for brunch a couple of Sundays ago. It's located in an aging section of QA Blvd right across from another Mediterranean restaurant about which I'd also heard good things. They possess no lot of their own but but we found a parking spot in a disused strip mall right across the street. It's clean and charmingly decorated inside. A friendly lady greeted us and seated us right away with only one other party dining that day. I felt like eating light. I ordered the dolmades and pita plate with a single skewer of chicken souvlaki. My companion ordered the gyro. They give you 8 cold dolmathes with one pita cut into wedges served with a standard solid tzaziki. I got about 3 dolmathes in before I realized the level of flavor wasn't worth continuing to ingest. I filled up on the pita and sauce instead since the skewer was pretty charred and thinly seasoned. He said his gyro was okay, but made us long for Shawarma King or Kokoras. I think we offended them by not asking to box up our leftovers, but why bother when I knew I'd be wasting styrofoam? If we couldn't win ordering a Greek staple, I knew there must be something holding this restaurant to its four star status and it must be local following. read more
