I paid $65 for three nail extensions and a basic one-color gel finish, which felt overpriced from the start--especially given the poor quality of work. The application process was full of red flags. The technician removed my previous set using only an e-file, applied a single thin layer of top coat, and glued down the tips while my natural nails were still visibly damp. As I feared, within just two days, the gel started lifting, trapping moisture underneath. Trapped moisture under nail enhancements is a huge safety hazard that can lead to bacterial or fungal infections. To make matters worse, I got these nails done specifically for an important job interview, but the pinky tip completely fell off in less than a week. I have been getting my nails done regularly for a long time, and I have never had a set fall apart this quickly. Unsafe, overpriced, and poor durability. This was my first and definitely my last time coming here. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The salon is nice, and I can see they've tried to renovate it, but I wouldn't call it 100% accommodating. The bathroom and baseboards still look old, and the chairs don't have a massage feature. I notice details that other people might not, but none of that was a reason for me to stop coming. I told them from the beginning that I'm picky. I'm polite, but I know what I want and always tell nail salons upfront. I've been getting my nails done since I was 15, and I'm 45 now. My nails are thin and brittle, and psoriasis affects how they look. Sometimes they can look like they might have fungus, but that's what psoriasis does to my nails. I need a technician who understands that. My first appointment went well. I really liked my pedicure and the woman who did it. She's a sweetheart. The nail technician is nice and does a good job, though she has a strong personality that can come across as a little rude. I have a strong personality too, so I gave it a chance. Both technicians are fast, which I love because I travel a lot for work and don't want to spend hours in a nail salon. A full set and pedicure took about an hour and 15 minutes. Both looked cute, and I got what I wanted. About a month later, I called and asked for a fill. When I arrived, the nail technician started removing my nails. She then told me that next time we should do a fill because my nails are so brittle. I told her I had asked for a fill when I called, and that she'd said she would decide whether to remove them once she saw them. She told me that regardless of what I say on the phone, I should discuss what we agreed on directly with her when I come in. I said okay, but I also wondered why my request hadn't been communicated to her. That's part of having a receptionist. I was irritated, but my second full set and pedicure looked good, so I decided to come back. At my next visit, she removed the polish, saw that the nails underneath didn't look good, and decided to take the set off. I also switched from an oval shape to a shorter, simpler coffin shape. The next day, the color started chipping. My sister said that can happen with a solid color using gelx, but I was about to leave the country for work and wanted my nails to look professional. I called the salon, explained the chipping, and asked to come in to fix it. I offered to pay. The person on the phone insisted there would be no charge and booked me. I even asked if she was sure, and she said yes. I want to emphasize that I offered to pay because I value people's work. When I came in, they saw me fairly quickly. Nobody mentioned a charge before or during the appointment. At the end, the nail technician told me it would be $35. I paid and gave her a $7 tip. I wasn't going to change my character over it, but I was irritated. I don't know whether the receptionist failed to tell the technician what she'd promised. My issue isn't paying, I offered to do that from the beginning. My issue is being told repeatedly that I wouldn't be charged, then being charged without an explanation or apology. My nails had been done less than 9 days earlier, and she changed the color and reshaped them. Even if they wanted to charge me, they could have told me beforehand or acknowledged the miscommunication. Nobody did. I've run businesses for years, and transparency matters to me. If a client explains what they need to the receptionist, that information should reach the technician. This was the second time something I'd discussed on the phone didn't seem to be communicated. In my experience, the front desk came across as disengaged, and the communication was mediocre. I'm not naming anyone because I don't want to put anyone on blast. I hope the salon takes this as a lesson. The nails looked nice, the woman who does my pedicures is lovely, and the nail technician is quick and does good work. My biggest issue is the salon's internal communication, which shouldn't be the client's responsibility. Thank you for the services, but I won't be back.

I came to Top Nail because the prices seemed cheap, but unfortunately, the service quality matched the price - cheap and careless. The staff did my nails in a rushed and sloppy way, with no attention to detail or care for customer comfort. Very disappointed after being a customer of Happiness Nails for many years…read more For years, Happiness Nails gave customers stamps for paying cash, with the promise of earning free services after a certain number of visits. Because of that incentive, I repeatedly went out of my way to make sure I had cash with me when I came in. Paying cash is not normally my preference, but I made the extra effort specifically because of the rewards program they offered. I accumulated 16 stamps on my physical cards. More recently, they stopped giving stamps and told me that cash-paid services were being tracked in their computer system instead. I actually thought this was convenient because I wouldn't have to worry about keeping track of cards anymore. When I finally brought in my cards to redeem my rewards, I was told they no longer honor them. Their computer also showed 2 additional cash-paid services, meaning I had 16 physical stamps plus 2 additional qualifying services in their own system. At first, I was told that the old stamps had also been given for credit-card payments. That is absolutely not how the program was presented to me or how I earned my stamps. They were an incentive for paying cash. The employee at the front checked with the owners, or so he said. After years of patronage, 16 stamps, 2 additional cash services in their own system, and all the times I went out of my way to bring cash specifically to participate in their rewards program, their solution was a $5 discount. I never would have expected anything simply for being a longtime customer. But when a business offers a rewards program that influences how customers choose to pay, I do expect the business to honor the rewards those customers earned. That is what disappoints me most. I made the effort to uphold my end of their rewards program, but when it came time to redeem what I had accumulated, the business did not uphold what I understood to be its end. I have referred quite a few friends to Happiness Nails over the years. After this experience, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience with the people I referred. There are plenty of nail salons in the area, and another one will earn my business. Goodbye, Happiness Nails!

The gel is extremely thick (they look like duck nails), the cuticle work is poor, gel was left on my skin, and the design was poorly executed. I offered multiple times to simplify, but the design was pushed anyway. This set cost $75, and the quality does not reflect the price. The experience felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. She said, "I'm not finished" in the rudest tone. When I told Mimi I didn't want any color and would like to just leave once she was done filing my nails down, she refused and told me she was going to finish. After a bit of back and forth she finally agreed and I was able to check out. As I was being checked out by another woman, I asked the cashier what my nail tech's name was and she told me her name was Mimi. Mimi then came over and said something in a different language to the cashier while giving me a dirty look. Mimi never once apologized and only denied her being rude or mean. The audacity is insane. I honestly should have walked out and not paid a dime to a nail salon who allows their staff to be rude and egotistical to their customers. come here if you want an unprofessional and rude experience!
