HAPPY NAILS is NOT what you think they are! I have known several people that work at this franchise and have heard horror stories with the mistreatment of their employees. 1). They discriminate against age. If you're not young, you won't be hired. 2). They will hire you on, but they won't pay you if you get fired or you quit after working with them. The owner(s) at these salons will take a 40% cut from their employees earnings for the day, but they will also dock additional money for uniforms, using their supplies, etc. Also, there's a contract they force you to sign in order to get your first paycheck and it has NOTHING to do with it being an employment contract. It has everything to do with not being able to sue them based on discrimination and pursue any allegations against them in court. THIS PLACE EXPLOITS IMMIGRATED ASIAN WOMEN!!! They think they are a super power and can get away with not paying wages and forcing their employees to purchase non-work items. I would NEVER support an establishment that exploited employees in this fashion. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE COMING INTO HAPPY NAILS!!! read more

The…read moreplace was basically empty, yet I had an 11:30 appointment and wasn't seen by the nail tech until 11:55. I should've left, but the other girl had already started my toes. I had an open scab about the size of a quarter on my ankle and specifically asked her to be careful around it. She grabbed it hard enough that I pulled my leg back, then continued touching it with gloves covered in chemicals. She repeatedly forgot about it and scrubbed or massaged over it. She even tried to put alcohol on it, which I had to stop. The nail tech saw her touch my wound several times and actually laughed about it. The nail tech kept explaining that she likes to take her time and is very particular about her work, which I can appreciate. But that made it even more confusing that they're appointment-only but couldn't respect my appointment time or communicate that they were running 25 minutes behind. I would have been completely fine coming at 12 if they had just told me. Then, the second she finished, before I even had a chance to stand up or look at my nails, she immediately asked, "How do you want to pay me?" She seemed very concerned about getting paid and her tip. And after all the talk about being particular, I still left with uneven nails. It felt like she was trying to fake good customer service. Definitely not the experience I expected and I won't be going back. Unfortunate because I wanted to like this place.

Very disappointed after being a customer of Happiness Nails for many years…read more For years, Happiness Nails gave customers stamps for paying cash, with the promise of earning free services after a certain number of visits. Because of that incentive, I repeatedly went out of my way to make sure I had cash with me when I came in. Paying cash is not normally my preference, but I made the extra effort specifically because of the rewards program they offered. I accumulated 16 stamps on my physical cards. More recently, they stopped giving stamps and told me that cash-paid services were being tracked in their computer system instead. I actually thought this was convenient because I wouldn't have to worry about keeping track of cards anymore. When I finally brought in my cards to redeem my rewards, I was told they no longer honor them. Their computer also showed 2 additional cash-paid services, meaning I had 16 physical stamps plus 2 additional qualifying services in their own system. At first, I was told that the old stamps had also been given for credit-card payments. That is absolutely not how the program was presented to me or how I earned my stamps. They were an incentive for paying cash. The employee at the front checked with the owners, or so he said. After years of patronage, 16 stamps, 2 additional cash services in their own system, and all the times I went out of my way to bring cash specifically to participate in their rewards program, their solution was a $5 discount. I never would have expected anything simply for being a longtime customer. But when a business offers a rewards program that influences how customers choose to pay, I do expect the business to honor the rewards those customers earned. That is what disappoints me most. I made the effort to uphold my end of their rewards program, but when it came time to redeem what I had accumulated, the business did not uphold what I understood to be its end. I have referred quite a few friends to Happiness Nails over the years. After this experience, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience with the people I referred. There are plenty of nail salons in the area, and another one will earn my business. Goodbye, Happiness Nails!
