This salon was recommended by a co-worker of mine, and I am now a regular here. I always get a gel manicure, and splurged for a pedicure (with an extra long massage) once as well. The gel manicure always looks wonderful and lasts 2-3 weeks (I do a lot of typing, so my manicures do not tend to last very long). They have a lot of colors to choose from for the gels in a basket at the front of the salon. They spend just long enough on my gels for them to look perfect, but not so long that I am there forever. When I got the extra long massage along with my pedicure, the massage was wonderful. I am on my feet all day, and it was worth the extra money! My only light criticisms are that i wish they played relaxing music all the time instead of having a television on, and I wish the water were warmer in the pedicure chair. But I still love Top Q, and my nails look better here than anywhere else :) read more

Just went here again and OUCH! The lady doing my manicure clipped a chunk off my finger and then proceeded to douse it with acetone. No apology was given until my finger started to bleed all over their towel. My pedicure was awesome, hence the extra star. I would have given them sat least 3 stars since I've had a great experience in the past, but the lack of immediate apology was unacceptable. I always regret trying other nail salons because its never as good as Top Q Nails. The ladies (Kim, Denise, Michelle & Tina) are super sweet and always smiling. What I love about this place is how they take the time to do a job well-done. If you are in a hurry, just let them know and they will speed it up for you in the neatest way possible. Denise is the cuticle-cutting queen (my guilty pleasure :P), I love it when Tina does my toes, Kim is great with designs, and Michelle knows how to thread eyebrows! Top Q - the Q definitely does not stand for Quality. I came here with my sister on a Saturday and told them two people for mani/pedi. The lady told me it will be less than a 10 min wait. Well, they really need to give customers a more accurate wait time because my sister ended up waiting for 45 mins until she decided to just leave and wait for me in the car because the fumes were giving her a headache. The worst part is that no one even bothered to come up to her and let her know what the approximate wait time will be. They just ignored their customer. I didn't even bother to get a mani - and one of the ladies asked me "Why aren't you getting a mani?" When I told her it's because my sister was waiting this whole time and I told them two people, she had the nerve to say, "Oh, you need to tell us it's for the same time." How am I supposed to know that?!? They do offer 2000 designs, but the catch is that not all of the stylists can recreate these designs. The stylist I got had no clue that she created the design upside down! On top of that, she didn't have a very steady hand. I was not too happy with the end results, although I think she did do a good job of getting all the cuticles out and cleaning up the toes. Maybe they are better on the weekdays, but I'll never know... read more

I visited this place last Saturday, and they weren't busy at all! Perhaps the bad reviews have sent some people away. I thought I would try it for myself. I got a french pedicure, and it was only $21! I say "only" - because other places like Happy Nails have regular pedicures starting @ $22. A regular pedicure here is $16. That's a great deal!!! The lady who painted my toenails, Miley, (great name, eh?) wasn't pushy at all to up sell the add-ons for a pedicure, which I appreciated. It's annoying when someone in a salon is trying to push and push for more adding on to the service. I get that they want to make more money, but after I said no a couple times, it can get annoying. I went to this place because of all the great reviews. I got a spa pedicure. The nail salon was very small and cluttered. Not relaxing at all. Some lady was eating her noodle soup at the manicure station... Very unprofessional. Now lets talk about that pedicure. The lady I had hurt about 3 of my toes with her tools. Not sure if they were even clean. I have no idea where she got them unlike other places that have individual kits in a bag for their clients. This lady kept going at it until I finally said ouch! She tried massaging it but it only hurt more! She wrapped my foot up in plastic bags to remove my callous. She covered the floor with newspaper. I was confused. She then proceeded to grab my foot quite aggressively and decided my foot my was a block of cheese and she had a cheese grater in hand. After she painted my toenails, she wanted to put my flip flops on right away ruining her pedicure and she had to redo it. Ugh.... Never again. read more

After what seems like years of driving pass this place I decided to stop in here to get a regular set of acrylics. I walked in and there were 5 female employees and only 1 other customer whp had walked in a few minutes before. I was asked what I wanted done. One of the ladies answered me ad then went to go talk to another lady in their language. I picked out the color I wanted and literally stood by the door for 5 minutes without anyone telling me to sit anywhere. Like I said, there was only 1 other customer in the store while I was waiting for help. 2 women went to help the other customer, while the other 3 employees just looked at me. After standing in the same spot for 5 minutes with no real acknowledgement, some decided to pull a chair that was located near the door and tell to sit there. I sat at the table where most nail salons put customers when they are done with them to dry their nails. As soon as I sat down and no one said who would work on my nails, I figured I should have just walked out. Lucky for me, a free employee came up to me and quietly asked if I could come back in 30 minutes. I said sure and went straight to Happy Nails. I should have gone to Happy Nails in the first place. I love this place. I will go out of my way to come here. The staff is overly friendly, the work is outstanding and the price is lower than most places in north oc for custom nails. I read through the other reviews before posting mine..I must say, there will always be someone unhappy with the size of the shop our how their nails came out...but if you're looking for honest friendly qualified individuals with a sanitary shop, that doesn't put your health at risk (eh), this is definitely the place. Anything I ask the owner or Rosa to draw on my nails they will. They are so talented. And it's always the same price for a design..it doesn't change. Okay let me start here! I have been going to Kim for years and love her!!! She is my go to nail girl, we have even become friends :) I always get the gel manicure here. Now my nails are kind of sensitive, so therefore I get the Shelac Base then any brand type of Gel Polish. This keeps my nails from getting destroyed. This also allows my nails to come off easy when I need them redone! They are very friendly ladies and know me by name everytime I come in. I have even got some of my friends to join me and now they go back to Top Q Nails all the time with me. I will never go anywhere else for my nails. I love Kim!!!!!! If you want ordinary nails this is not the place for you. They OVER 2000 designs all done by hand. if you want flowers, argyle or whatever the current holiday is they have a design. I have been going to Kim for years and she does a great job. Made an appt. for 11:30 am, came in for a gel pedicure that took over an hour and half - not acceptable. Had a bad toe pinch from one of the tools - Ok, it happens. Once she was done, I looked at them and the gel was dry but had a "runny" and uneven, rigid look on most of my toes - not acceptable. I expressed my concern of the poor look and another gal working their advises me "so sorry, it's her first day doing gel pedicure." EXCUSE ME?! - TOTALLY not acceptable. I grew livid, obviously. I was assured I could have it fixed and redone but I'm sorry I was already sitting here for an hour and half for a simple and basic gel pedicure. I'm outta here. Proceeded to pay the $33 for the bogus pedicure. I'm not sure if I will return to have it corrected. Oh yeah and it's Mother's Day weekend and my birthday. Happy birthday to me with my ugly toes. I then called back the # I called earlier in the day to make the appt and it turns out, I'm calling the previous owner's cell phone who is directing appts to the salon. I'm so happy I found this place. Kim and Denise are wonderful at Gel Manicures. They take their time and I'm always happy with their work. They are friendly and work very hard. Parking can be a bit difficult sometimes and it's a hit or miss when walking in, so I now make appointments. I get pedicures and Gel manicures on a regular basis. They last for a very long time compared to other salons. I would highly recommend this salon to others. read more

For eye lash extensions, I have been following Mai for 14 years. I have tried other places out of conveniences and lessor prices but it was not worth it. Her technics were surperb. She will go way and beyond for qualify work. I have never in my 14 years has any issues. She will work for your needs. Tom, Bella and basically everyone that works here are so sweet. I've been coming to Top Q Nails since i got married and moved across the street. Tom is absolutely incredible at what he does. He is very precise when it comes to applying any kind of color or pattern design to my nails. I have random friends asking me if they can take pictures of my nails so they can show it to their nail people to mimic . Bella is very sweet and talented as well. She is extremely nice and listens to exactly what I want when it comes to designs on my toes. She takes her time when she gives me my foot massage and is always asking how me and my family are doing. This small, unassuming place surprised me yesterday. The employees were very nice and efficient too. I like the fact that I got in and out in an hour and didn't sacrifice quality. This is the second time I've been here. The first time, wonderful. The lady who did my pedicure was lovely and chatty and gave me beautifully painted toes. I got here and they didn't acknowledge me, and sat me in a chair with one of the workers dinner in it. I'm sitting in the chair right now , and I'm about to walk out. The woman is rude and rolls her eyes when I ask her to refile my big toe because its crooked. I wanted my toes with an Anaheim Angels baseball theme. She has redone it twice. I finally asked her to just stop and paint them red. I've been here an hour. Horribly rude, and cant paint worth a damn. The only reason they got more than one star is because the first time was a great experience. Kim and Denise are GREAT! The rest.. not so much. Dont come here. Theres definately better. read more

I had a regular mani/pedi done on a Saturday for a dinner dance event. Sunday afternoon the color was disappearing from the tips of my nails. Sunday night to Monday the nail polish is already coming off at the tips. Very noticeable. I don't expect regular nail polish to last like gels, but this is ridiculous. I'm wondering if the nail polish or other products are diluted. I was careful using gloves, etc. I've never had my nails look this bad in 2-3 days. I really should give them one star. read more

As of July 2016, this place is under new management and it is BAD to say the least. Save yourself the trip and take your business elsewhere. Myself and one other came in for an appointment for 2 pedicures. None of the new techs speak English and it was very hard to tell the ladies what services we wanted. The techs did not know what they were doing while doing our pedicures and it was obvious. I had to guide my lady the whole way through my pedicure asking her to file the nails even and clean up the nail polish as it was all over my skin! Slow and very inexperienced...we were in the chair for 1.5 hours. We were coming here for a while but will not be back! read more

I am writing this review as I sit outside this place in my car. I came here earlier in the day with my sister. They said it would be a 30 minute wait. We decided to come back later in the day. When we went back the lady said it was a 10 min wait so we chose our polish and waited. Only one chair was free so my sister went after 10 minutes. If I had known that I would be sitting there for another 45 minutes, I would have gone somewhere else. On top of all that, all the acetone fumes were causing me to get a horrible headache. At that point I was just over it so I left. Customer service should always be number 1 and its crazy to make someone wait that long for a pedicure. Another thing is they claim to do over 2000 nail designs but half the staff doesn't even know how to do them. Horrible service, not worth EVER coming back here. I just moved here from WA and the friend I am staying with referred me to here, so her and I went into the salon this evening at 6:32 pm. We were told that it was the best in OC and yet when we walked in the 2 ladies working were short and unpleased that we were there 30 minutes prior to closing. My friend and I had a busy day and were unable to get there earlier; however, we were there with plenty of time before they closed. We both wanted pedicures and gel nails w/the designs we were told were so amazing (plus they would have made a pretty penny off of us). The 2 female employees showed us all of their stuff for gels and when we said great perfect thank you, we were then told that they were closed. This was quite shocking because they were still open according to their sign and business hours. On top of it all why would they inform us that they were "closed" after they showed us the gel nail stuff?????? I am soooooo very unpleased, unhappy, and highly disappointed with what i had been told was the best salon by far. I am sure that I will never return to this unprofessional establishment. OH and BY THE WAY as one of the 2 employees was informing us they were closed because they wanted to simply GO HOME, the other was quite caught up in the act of DOING HER OWN NAILS!!!!
