3 months ago I had a pedicure here. My nails came out cute but the lady had cut my nail wrong and less then a week later a very painful infection started. 2 rounds of antibiotics and a topical antibiotic later my infection was still there and very painful. Tonight I had to have part of my nail taken off due to the infection. The sharp shard of nail on the left in the bottom pic was the piece of nail stuck in the corner of my toe from having it cut here. I would advise avoiding a pedicure here or at least avoiding them cutting your nails. (I will say I had an acrylic manicure done by Steven and he was great and I had no problems from his work ) read more

Here we are 5 years since my review. Good news, they are still as awesome as ever! Bad news, they had a flood and were unexpectedly closed down for like a week or so, right before Thanksgiving. Because of that flood, they have completely renovated the salon and it looks great! New everything! If you haven't been lately, for whatever reason, you should go back (not this week tho, they are slammed). It's crazy to think I've been coming here for 25 years! Because of Covid I hadn't been to a nail salon in almost a year and was referred to this salon by a neighbor and given the salon's location very near to my home I decided to try it out. I'm a senior citizen and wanted a pedicure and had some specific needs so was delighted with the service I received from Jade. She knew exactly what kind of pedicure to give me and the results were perfect and now I know where I will be going for nails from here on out. The salon is bright, spotless and has all the amenities of larger shops without the chaos and noise. Other customers were having intricate nail procedures and all the staff seemed skilled and pleasant. The prices are very reasonable, particularly given the calming ambiance and friendly atmosphere and I would certainly recommend Excel Top Nails. read more

I came to Excel the end of January. A week later my finger was swollen and infected. They did not clean their tools. I had to go two rounds of oral antibiotics and one antibiotic ointment. The pain was horrific. The doctor told me that had I not come in when I did that it could have turned to sepsis. Needless to say that I will not return. There prices are good and the people are nice, but clean tools are a necessity. read more

Not impressed! I was hoping that this would be my new pedicure spot, the price at $17 is right but unfortunately it's not. I called this morning to see if they had availability for a walk-in and the lady that answered the phone said they had an appointment available at 12:30. Since it was 11:30, I accepted the time. Not 5 minutes later, I receive a call back and the lady said that they could take me right away. I was ready, so I told them I would be down in 5 minutes. When I arrived every nail tech was busy, so they said it would be s few minutes. The place is very clean and quiet. I waited about 5 minutes and was escorted to a pedicure chair. It was 12:00 pm. The pedicure was ok, except for the manicurist cut my big toe while clipping the cuticles. Each time she applied polish it burned and now I have a painful sore on my toe!! The tech was fast, and did a decent polish job but my nails are not straight and are misshapen! I won't be returning. read more

She also did a pretty good job with massage and callous removing. The store could use new chairs since the massage chair I sat in didn't work all that well. My daughter comes here all the time. So when I was looking for a place to do my nails for my wedding, I trusted her and came with her. Everyone was very nice and friendly. I don't speak Vietnamese but most of them spoke fairly good English. The lady that did my toes had a thick accent so at times I had to ask her to repeat to me. They were not very talkative which I really appreciated. I don't like loud places. Prices were very reasonable. I did the Pink/White French Manicure/Pedicure and only paid $37. They did a good job massaging my hands and feet, too. And I loved the massage chair! I don't usually get my nails done but I'll be back when I do. read more

I received a $25 gift certificate from a friend about 5 years ago to this salon. It was a long time ago but since the gift certificate had no expiration date on it, I thought it would still be vaild. And California state law states that all gift certificates must be honored no matter how old they are. Anyways, I went to get a pedicure and it was very hard to convey to the lady what I wanted since she could barely speak English. It was more just point and head nods. The calus removal was very uncomfortable and hurt quite a bit but I thought it had been about a month since my last pedicure so maybe she needed to rub a little harder. But later on that day, I found that she did actually rub my foot too hard because after walking around for an hour after my pedicure (in my really comfortable day to day sandals), I got a huge blister on the bottom of my foot and had to stay off my foot for the rest of the day. :-( Also, I pointed out the design I wanted to her, she nodded in agreement and I turned my attention to my book. When I looked up about 10 minutes later, I saw that she was painting the wrong design. I stopped her and pointed to the correct design again and she was very frustrated and had to wipe the polish off to start again. But she obviously wasn't doing something correct because she wiped off the polish 4 more times which was making the appointment very long and I needed to get going soon. When I was finished and ready to pay, I wanted to use the gift certificate with them but they wouldn't accept it. They said the company had changed owners and that they don't accept these anymore. I said that the company name is still the same, the address and all the information is still the same and there is no expiration date on the gift certificate so it should still be valid. They still wouldn't accept it. I said, I know it's an older certificate but someone paid you money for a service and you are not honoring it. Still they wouldn't budge. I figured, it wasn't worth any of my time or effort anymore and just paid the fee. It's really sad because I don't like leaving bad reviews and this salon is really close to my house but I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

I did gel nails and they lasted over two weeks... It may have lasted longer, but I started picking at them. Pedicure lasted three weeks without chipping. Gel nails were $25, which was very reasonable. I don't do gel very often, but I think their color selections were pretty average. They have spa chairs for the pedicure. The only thing is that you can't add the tip to your card, so bring cash. read more

Great gel manicure! Although the salon itself is not very updated or fancy, all I care about is the attention to detail. I got too extensions with gel since my nails were so short and Tracy did an awesome job making them look natural. The only downside was the lack of gel color options. I will probably come back for a pedi/mani next time. read more

I was a walk in and it was the worst pedicure ever. She cut me twice, no removal of calluses, no massage. It was a standard pedicure, $22. I'm a hair stylist, and I know they should be trained better than that. Since I never take time for myself, I was desperate for a pedicure. However, the pedicurist next to me, Lynn, seemed awesome. She was doing a foot massage the entire time I had my pedicure. I will be going back for her. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. They took advantage of a loved one and took a $200 tip from a loyal elderly customer who couldn't even remember it happened. They refused to give some of the tip back and the woman who took it said "you're just jealous she gave us that much, tell her to come in herself and get it back." After continuing to wait I just left. What's the use of even having an appointment. I've been coming here a few times and had other incidents like this. This was last straw. Very sloppy. Made me bleed during my manicure. Poor attention to detail - there's polish all over my nails and toes. I had to ask her to clean it up, and even after that it still doesn't look great. I wouldn't give this place a star but you have to mark something. It's despicable how they saw an opportunity and took advantage of an elderly patron who has dementia. They charged her $200.00 instead of $20.00 she was giving for a tip. Note, the services she got was only worth $40.00. When confronted, Jade got very indignant and refused to cooperate and would not return the money. Don't let this happen to you or one of your loved ones. Find somewhere else to get your nails done. My mom and I have been coming here for the last 4+ years and always have the best experience. The staff are always very friendly and make you feel relaxed and welcomed. We have gone there long enough that they know exactly how we want our nails without asking, the only thing they need to know is our color choice. We also get our eyebrows waxed here and have always been pleased with the way they turn out. Cindy is the women to go to if you have a specific design you want but any of the other employees are perfect for basic color. read more
