I'm updating my review based on the extremely skimpy portions they serve nowadays for the expensive prices you pay. I can get past the unfriendly service but the super skimpy portions, that I cannot do. For around $15 per plate they do not provide enough with the portions. Even though they flood some dishes with rice, the meat and potatoes servings in the dishes are non existent when ordered, especially in the crab fried rice, or shall I say "rice fried rice". I don't get why there are any negative reviews because this place is so good! Normally whenever I go to a Thai place I get my favorite pad thai and then always say how I need to branch out. So despite the pad thai temptation I selected the spicy basil udon. What a stroke of genius! The udon noodles were perfectly al debate, the dish was piping hot, and my spice selection of 3 (scale of 1 to 5) was perfect. It had just the spice I was looking for without blowing out my taste buds. The service was excellent and friendly, the restaurant was clean and inviting, and the price was very reasonable. I even brought half of my meal home to enjoy another day while still leaving full. My only regret is not finding this place sooner! read more

I went with a level four out of five, which was on the edge of my tolerance. Two couples next to me were both commenting on how good their dishes were as well. I also have tried Thai food from the East and the West, and in comparison, At Nine Thai has dependable consistency for tastes and prices. The ambiance is a mix of modern and traditional vibes of Thai culture, with a large snapshot of Thai street food lifestyle on the wall that welcomes you as soon as you first enter the restaurant. To be honest, all of their full-bodied curries are filled with balanced spice and herbal broth. And entrees are perfectly seasoned with mixture of delicious fresh vegetables and herbs. I enjoy their 5 levels of spiciness for different dishes, but if you love your food hot, simply request more than above level 5. "At Nine Thai" is one of my family's absolute favorite Thai restaurants in the Denver area! We have been eating here for years and absolutely LOVE it! Staff is incredibly nice and the food is clearly made with love. We moved away from the area several years ago and haven't been able to make it in as often, but they still treat us like family every time we come in. The Chicken Yellow Curry (I usually do 3 for heat) and the Pad Thai are our favs! Any time we find ourselves in the area we go here. Highly recommend. read more

They still offer no dine-in option as of July 2021, this is now the second time in a row that we have ordered dishes above and their 1-5 spice level and they hey have been mild at best. I really really hate having to leave this review. This has been by FAR one of my favorite Thai Restaurants. My wife and I have been eating here 2-3 times a month for a couple years now. But, you have lost my business. We picked up delivery the other day and found a hair in my wife's food. I'm fairly understanding of things like this. It's unsanitary, but not a big deal. We called to get it fixed, I went back and picked up the replacement items. When I got home the food HAD ANOTHER HAIR IN IT!!!!! Are you kidding me?!?! I am seriously concerned about a restaurant that can't keep hair out of food on consecutive orders. This makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. During a pandemic I want to believe that the chefs are not just doing the "standard" health code procedures, but are going above and beyond during this period. Please evaluate your health, safety and cleanliness policies in your kitchen. It could be as simple as required hairnets. An issue like this makes me feel that there is a larger issue relating to food safety. I'd be willing to remove this review if you get a current health and safety inspection. read more

We've been twice, and both times the food has been delicious! I definitely recommend the khao soi soup, which you can get with your choice of protein (I get the veggie option and it's fantastic). It's so perfectly spiced and yummy. The pad thai with tofu is delectable - not everyplace prepares tofu as well as this place does. There were a lot of people picking up to-go orders, and the room has been packed with diners. It can feel a bit hectic at first, but once you're seated, it is fun to be in such a lively ambiance. Thailand is a land of beauty, the food is mind blowing and even the funkiest market Pad Thai is pretty good. This new addition to the neighborhood was an exciting find, sadly it did not live up to the expectations. The curry pockets were tasty although were barely warm. The Pad Thai was simply inedible, it was drowning in sauce ..... Pad Se Yew was also quite mediocre. The Tom Yum soup was overly sour as well. Service was attentive. Overall, we did not see what the rest of the folks saw ranking it 5 stars.... it's a 2.5 and 3 is truly a stretch! read more

After reading the largely positive reviews, and upon ordering here a staple dish at American Thai restaurants, yellow curry with chicken, I found myself yearning for the quality I'm accustomed to in Santa Monica's better Thai restaurants. I did not find it. Unfortunately, here, the chicken is not only a little rubbery, but the saturation or penetration of the curry sauce and related spices is poor. It tastes as though the chicken was dumped in the pot maybe 10-30 minutes prior to their serving the dish. The taste of the meat was not overcome by the sauce. In fact, the sauce didn't even penetrate or saturate the chicken meat. There's no substitute for protracted, lengthy simmering of the sauce into the meat, to render the dish fully consistent and the tastes of the sauce to cook through the meat. The curry was bland and nearly tasteless. Stated another way, you can't just pour sauce over chicken and call it curry chicken. Portions were ordinary. Vegetables were scant and also not thoroughly softened had the dish been properly simmered for an extended period. The Thai iced tea was excessively sweet. Overall, this is not over the top Thai food, and at best, average for Denver. I'll continue searching. Thai curry dishes are exceedingly simple to cook and serve if the care and steps implemented are present. It's a shame that in the Denver vicinity, few are willing to implement the tlc needed to render the best result. read more

Good addition of Thai restaurant in the area. First time checking this place out and I walked out with happy tummy :) First off, I loved the large wallpaper that shows Thai street food so much. Quite different than the other places. The seating inside was great. It is a combination of booths and tables. We got the crispy chicken Pad Thai, Pork Kra Pow, Papaya salad, and the Boat noodles. My favorite is the Boat noodles. It was really delicious and unique. Pretty rare for Thai restaurants here that offer the Boat noodles. They have pork or beef options. The Kra Pow was good as well. The other items weren't bad but fairly close to what you can get from the other Thai restaurants. Needed to reiterate again that the noodles were then must try. Service was friendly and attentive. Today me and my fiancé were driving to get China Taipei when we noticed this new Thai spot. So we decided to give it a shot based off of the great reviews. Boy we're we wrong.... The Thai Tea is the one things that is preventing this from being one star. Thai tea was fantastic wish I had it In big gulp size how ever was let down with everything else. The Papaya salad was just missing something not quite sure what it was was just left feeling like I needed more. The fried chicken pad Thai was just...bland...no real flavor in the chicken and was under fried, noodles cold and plain. The crab cheese wontons were cold and lacking any flavor...the wings are being heated up in the oven as I type this review since they were just soggy and cold. I understand that the experience may be slightly better with dine in but doesn't fix the fact that most of the food was lacking authenticity and flavor. read more

Amazing food! My husband got the crispy pad thai level 3 heat. We both loved it. Just the right amount of sauce to not be dry and not too saucy. Great flavor. I had the pad kra praw level 1 heat. It had a little bite at the end but it was just right for me. The chicken was minced and there was lots of it. I can get 3 meals out of the portion size. Again, amazing flavor. I was full but couldn't stop picking at my to-go box. The service was fast and everyone who helped us was friendly and gracious. We would definitely return next time we are in the area. read more

My last visit was BLAH. The place seems to have gone downhill since the last time I visited. YIKES, What happened? The pad thai with crispy chicken was really bland, lukewarm and had no "snap". Also the crispy chicken was sliced up chicken tenders on top of the pad thai. I really expected more. The fried fish was just ok, but better than the pad thai. In town visiting a friend. I was seeking unique and delicious food. I had heard about a soup called "Khao Soi" and wanted to try it. At Nine Thai is a bit of a distance from my friend's house but she agreed to try someplace new. We ordered dishes we knew from other Thai restaurants (Chicken Satay, Crispy Rolls, Thai Iced Tea, Pad Thai) they did not disappoint us. We also ordered some unknown dishes (Khao Soi, Roti Trio) they also did not disappoint us. Overall we were blown away by the flavors and freshness of each dish. For dessert we ordered Mango Sticky Rice and Roti and Ice Cream- everything, EVERYTHING we ate was delicious. The service was impeccable. I am so happy we went out of the way to find this restaurant and I will be back when I visit again! If you're not sure what to get, try the Khao Soi! read more

We had read great reviews on the food for this restaurant and it was very good. The service was just ok, very non personal but some people like that. The one complaint that I have is that there are TV's EVERYWHERE. This completely dissuades people from having conversation. The place is very small, maybe 800 sq ft so this is ALL you can look at. Also, they have all of the tables shoved to one side of the restaurant, have one half reserved for themselves, are still using the scanner for menus and are all wearing masks. I have never eaten at this place. I thought I would give it a try. I have made several attempts but they are always to busy to take a to go order. I went back a month ago to try and place a order. I was completely ignored again. I went up to the waitress and asked her how to get a to go order. The waitress told me that my order would take 2 1/2 hours or longer. My guess is that they might have seven tables. My guess is that they are not organized and really do not care about customers. This is my last time going to this place. read more

I'm super happy to find the place. A friend recommended to me. I've tried to find somewhere that serves Khao Soi. I had it in Thailand and could not find it in Denver. But they serve it, and it's great! I brought a big group here once for lunch (~10 people), and although the restaurant wasn't at all busy, it seemed like they weren't really pleased that there were so many of us. We were quiet and respectful, but it it was like they couldn't really comprehend why there were 10 of us, and didn't think they could like accommodate? We made it work, but I had to kinda convince them to allow us to eat there, and that it could work. We all tip well, but they wouldn't split the check. So I paid it and had to collect money back from the others for the next week. I would recommend to the ownership to expand their view of accommodating customers. I brought in $200 that they wouldn't have otherwise seen that day, I don't think I will again. People use yelp as a weapon to hurt businesses. I don't want to do that. I wish the best for this business, and hope it grows and is successful. So 5-stars, and thanks for the great Khao Soi every time! read more

I'm OBSESSED with their Khao Soi! I fell in love with this dish in Northern Thailand and it is pretty difficult to find at Thai restaurants in Denver. This place does it so well! It is such a perfect combination of flavors and textures! It is definitely spicy however, so choose your spice level accordingly. I've had several other things here that are all delicious. The staff are also so attentive and welcoming. This place is worth the drive for me! read more
