Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. November 2017 I was visiting family out of state (no Internet at this place). I purchased (and was "assured") that the AT&T Hotspot device I paid for, (total price was $117) for both the device and service that "should have" lasted me long enough for my visit. I check email, read news, etc. and that's about it. First spoke with Jonathan, then returned to deal with Josh; both "assured me" the $50 would be plenty to last the time I was visiting family. All my data was GONE within 30 minutes of usage! I went to a local AT&T store - Alex - and of course, he was of no help.
Returned to THIS location and spoke with Josh - and he said, "There's nothing we can do, it's a prepaid device." DUH!!! I know it's a prepaid device - but who in their right mind would pay $117 for 30 minutes (or less) of Internet? No one - that's who. Josh was of NO HELP (surprise, surprise). I ask to speak with the manager (Jason). Jason told me that he would credit my account $100 so the next time I went out of town, there would be "more than enough" data on the device.
Went into the store with my device May 14th, spoke once again with Jonathan - told him my situation - showed him the business card from the "manager" (Jason) - he took the paper work in the back - waited less than 5 minutes - and Johnathan "assured me" I was "good to go and all would be well." YEAH, right. Arrived once again at my destination with this device - and low-and-behold - GUESS WHAT? No service. The only thing I can connect to is the AT&T web site and they're asking me to put MORE money on my account in order to access the Internet.
Johnathan was nice, polite, and friendly - but this service and device and deceitfulness from this AT&T facility is terrible. I've spent $117 on 30 minutes of Internet since November.
I'm currently at my local library (in another state) using the Internet. It's sad and pathetic that people/a company can RIP YOU OFF and the consumer has no recourse. All AT&T cares about is selling you something - be it a product or service - both of which, my experience, have been PATHETIC!
How about giving the credit to one of my family members that uses your crappy AT&T telephone service?
I'll see you when I get home and I'm sure you'll be more than happy to credit my sister's account. I'm sure you'll once again "assure me" that all is well and I'm good to go.
I now have a piece of crap device that doesn't work properly. Sad that you can look people in the eye and tell them the device will work and all I have to do is place it next to my laptop and it'll work fine.
