Signing up for ATT Air Internet, might be a relatively new product for ATT. Compared the offering to Verizon and Xfinity (local giant). ATT had the best price, especially with some combo mixes including auto-pay and cell service - new 55+ plan (yeah, going up against other budget-friendly competitors). Jeff at this location was a big help; quite patient considering the hoops we encountered at sign-up (not his fault, just the extra security measures so your ID or account doesn't get tampered with.) Anyhoo, happy with "AIA" and delighted with Jeff's assistance. FYI ... You don't pick up equipment at the store. It gets mailed to you for (free) self-setup which you can do with help from 800-assistance (wasn't bad; they walked me through setup.) but budget not being operational for 3 days or so while equipment is in transit. There WAS a hiccup after setup that required back office to flip some switch but flip they did and we were up and running. So maybe budget 5 days from order date. You also get to try it for a week (I think it's a week.) you are billed as soon as you set up, but if you change your mind during that trial, I believe they will cancel service without charging you for that week. read more

My co-worker and I came in here this morning to get the new iPhone X, I really only came to keep him company as I have no interest in spending that much for a phone. He knew exactly what he wanted and if the store had it, this should have been an in and out purchase just like any other day. The store was surprisingly not busy, I assumed there would be a line and this would be a real experience. The sales associate he dealt with was named Mo, who was in no way helpful whatsoever. First we were told they didn't have a white 256 GB phone, but then Mo spoke with the assistant manager (Maurice) and came back saying there was a white 256BG in stock. This back and forth back and forth becomes a trend...this is not buying a car people, it is a set price and he wants to buy it..why is that so hard? My friend wants to buy the phone outright instead of the monthly payment plan at full listed price plus tax. He has zero problem with the price and literally just wants this phone. Mo comes back and says that selling the phone outright at full price will put up a "red flag" for the store...what exactly is that supposed to mean? It means "the store won't make any money if they sell the phone outright". What? I can go on AT&T's site and buy any phone I want outright at any moment...I really did not understand the run around here. Long story short we walked out without the phone...this was the hardest buying experience I have ever been a part of. We have both bought or leased several vehicles, he has bought a home, and believe it or not have had several SEAMLESS phone purchases. read more

I'm not really sure why I even bother to go into this particular location, since every time I do there seems to be some sort of annoying situation. In this last instance, I went in trying to get a new memory card for my phone because mine crapped out and died (I lost all pictures and videos). The associate was nice, but told me that i couldn't get a free replacement bc it was over the 1 year warranty- fair enough. Then he said he thought he had one lying around and I could have it for free, which was very cool. Then the fun starts. First, he couldn't find any extra memory cards he had stored in his drawer. Then, he was able to find one but wanted to check to make sure there wasn't anything on it. Funnily enough, there was stuff on it - pictures of hot women shopping at the store that belonged another associate (he was in some of the pictures apparently). So I sat there while this dude and his buddy at the register scrolled through some of the pictures on the card. Awesome. Now that that card was full of smut, I wasn't getting it. The associate then tells me that memory cards are on promotion at half price. Cool right? Wrong. They rang up full price and he said it couldn't be overridden. Yet another fun experience at this particular store. I am happy with my AT&T account, but if I were you, I'd definitely avoid this location. Stay classy, associates! read more

It never fails to surprise me how almost every person I have met in this store is either unwilling or unable to provide any sort of service. I understand what you can't do (product is sold out) but what can you do? Can I just wait? Can you call me when it comes in? These are basic basic customer questions you should be able to answer. I'm sure there are knowledgeable & helpful people on staff at the Springfield AT&T store, but they were nowhere to be found today. I was trying to decide whether to upgrade my iPhone through Apple or AT&T, so I visited the store to talk about their trade-in program. There were two things that I learned from the short, one-worded, majorly one-sided back & forth between the customer service representative and myself: I'm definitely upgrading through Apple, and that she would be more suited to work at a McDonalds. That's not a slam against McDonalds, just an assessment of her personality & social skills. If I wanted someone to roll their eyes at me and make me feel like an idiot without reason, I'd stand in line at the DMV. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! We wanted to buy a new phone and add a line to our account. The sales lady entering the data in her pretty iPad couldn't get it done, telling us we have the wrong ss number !!!! Instead of calling her AT&T internal support to figure out the problem, she insisted we could not remember our ss number. I work here for 10 month I know what I am doing, she reckoned!!! Very unfriendly young lady!!! Anyhow, we called AT&T in her store but she didn't find time to talk to the support person! 5 other sales person standing around not doing anything or trying to help out! We left that place still talking to the AT&T customer service person and got it all straighten out, with the same ss number we gave her. It never pays to hire bad people!!! They told us we would get direct tv streaming because I bought a new phone.. but instead they signed us up for direct tv too when we were only supposed to have an informational meeting on it. I asked why they needed two different emails, they said "that's how it works" On top of that it took a full hour and 20 min. to get a phone and they wanted me to leave my two phones to sync. They charge you $100 to keep your old phone, even though you paid for it. Thanks, Kevin, you made our customer experience a pain in the ass. read more

I came here with questions about switching back to AT&T after making the mistake of leaving them for Sprint back in August. I came in first by myself with my two young boys and they were great! I came back the next with my boys and my husband to actually sign up and they made sure my kids were occupied with iPads while we filled out all the paperwork. They gave us so much information and went through every necessary step in switching carriers and what needed to be done. They were professional and didn't force anything additional on us to make our bill more expensive than we wanted. It was very refreshing considering the troubles and lack of professionalism I went through with Sprint. read more

This store was really bad. I called and they gave me one price, but told me I had to come down to close the deal. Upon arriving they increase the price by $20 a month. I used to deal with the Broomall office and they were great until they closed. Once I saw that this was bait and switch, I drove to Newtown Square which was WONDERFUL! The total incompetence of Daniel(sales rep) and lies from him and Joe(his manager) cost AT&T a 7+ year customer. I had received a letter from corporate that I needed to get a new phone because of upcoming changes in their system. I was told to take the letter to this store or another location to get a free phone. I told Daniel it was important that I keep the texts on my phone as many were to and from a good friend who had died from cancer last year. If he couldn't do that I would just forgo the free phone and buy a new phone. He assured me that my texts would be intact. He took my old phone to transfer the phone numbers from my old phone to the new one. When he gave it back to me I saw that the inbox was intact but that the sent box was totally empty. That's when the lies started. Joe-it's a fluke that happens sometimes(no, texts don't just delete themselves).Daniel-the texts are reloading and will be back on your phone in an hour or so(no, deleted texts don't reload). Both-call customer service and ask them for a hard copy of your texts. By the time I got off the phone(and was told that there is no hard copy of texts) Daniel had disappeared from the work floor and Joe was hiding in his office. Joe told be to call legal or tech support. More lies-you cannot talk to legal unless you are a lawyer or are in law enforcement. Tech support told me the texts are gone for good and also told me that the machine used to transfer numbers from one phone to another is the same machine used to erase data from phones that are returned or exchanged. Had I known that I would have transferred my numbers manually and not given my phone to Daniel. The tech guy said Daniel must have hit a wrong button. He also said I was lucky that at least my inbox was intact. He was right-the messages from my friend to me were more important than my messages to him. BUT I was told all texts would be saved. AT&T apologized and offered me a $30 reduction in my bill if I would stay. Sure, your people delete texts that I was emphatic that I wanted to keep and then tell me lie after lie. I DON'T THINK SO. Less than 72 hours later I walked out of Sprint with a new phone, a new hotspot for my laptop and a lower monthly bill. read more

I went to AT&T Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA. I lost my phone and needed another one. A friend of mine said go to AT&T and they'll give you a phone real cheap $40, he said, since they don't want to lose me as a customer. GUESS WHAT? New phone $400. I told them I'm on SS, have medical problems, live alone and no way I could buy anything for $400!! Woman I spoke to just said, well that's the best we can do! Now I'm still looking for a new phone. I tried AARP and communicate only on email. Each question takes a week to reply to me. Their ads are confusing, e.g., phone $25, annual plan $12.50/mos. Sounds good, been asking AARP if the charge is ech month for the $25 phone? Haven't gotten a response. They keep adding in email to call them--I keep telling them I DON'T HAVE A PHONE! Absolutely terrible. I should have stopped going to this store after years of bad experiences, but it is the closest store and I kept thinking it might not be so bad. Well, I learned the hard way and now I can finally say I will never go back. The staff is completely uninformed and lazy, and the managers (who are always in the back room) can NEVER help. My last straw came when it was time to update my iPhone. I was given incorrect information about the AT&T Next plan, and I agreed to it. I thought the associate (Julian) knew what he was talking about and I trusted him. I asked for the phone to be shipped to the store, and it wasn't, so I went back in a few weeks later and asked a different associate about the plan, and he had no clue what I was talking about but just "yes'd" me and told me the first associate definitly had all the facts straight. Then a few weeks later, when I realized the the Next plan essientially ended my current plan and forces me to pay full price ($740!) for the phone, I wanted to cancle it, seeing as how it is exactly the opposite of what Julian told me was going to be the case. Not possible...a lot of apologies, but nothing. The manager on duty was terrible. Anyway, AT&T is fine as far as cell phone carriers go, but this store is horrendous and doesn't bother keeping their lazy employees informed or up to date on offers. I do not recomend going to this store if you need anything more than a new phone case (which they probably won't have anyways becuase their accessories shelf is always bare). read more

I went into the Springfield store on Friday June 3,2016. All I needed was a sim card to put in a AT&T go phone until my replacement phone would arrive. The sale person a young man named MARCUS came all friendly to help. I ask for the young lady I usually have but she was not in. He said he would help me with the sim card. He also tried to get me to sign up for a tablet and some other items. I said, NO. I have a tablet. Then tried to get me to change my plan with AT&T. I said, NO WAY!!!. We are GRANDFATHERED in on an amazing plan is CINGULAR. I said there is no plan that would benefit me and my family. He had to get help with the sim, which made me realize he was new... hummm maybe I should of asked for someone else?? But then seemed to get it to work. I left there feeling like ok that was painless. UNTIL... Today June 8th. My son goes in to get the phone up and working with the young lady who always helps us only to find our plan had been changed.!!! The AT&T young lady called me right away as she knows my plan. Told me to call the customer service people to get it fixed right away. I did only to find MARCUS had cancelled my protection plan and our Grandfathered in plan!!!!! I told the Representative that if I did not get back what I had we would be gone before the end of the month... And I would put up signs and pay for a bill board about the under handed way their employees do things to your account WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. They said, all would be back to normal do NOT worry.
