I'm not singling out this business specifically, but AT&T as a service is remarkably disappointing. My connection with Wi-Fi is dropped daily at 11 PM. This is Wi-Fi through AT&T.. My bill has tripled in price in the last few years, and honestly, my Wi-Fi is iffy at best on most days. The people they send out for repairs, either don't know what they're doing, or have been given incorrect information about what the problem is at my house, or they've never been trained in any way. I'm sure it's not the technician's fault, I have no idea what their training might be, but from my experience, their training has been very minimal. This is the second time I've lost my phone in the last couple months & each time I went to AT&T & was fortunate to have Oscar assist me each time. The first time he offered to try "find my phone" and patiently helped me locate it while I looked in my car. AT&T U-Verse turns a simple internet issue into an exercise in pain and punishment. The phone system is an insult to customers' time--20 minutes of bots, 40 minutes on hold if you need anything. Suffered it three times today, all for a "fix" that didn't last a day. The in-store staff are polite enough, but that's where the courtesy ends. Anything related to internet they just tell you to call their overseas support line! After dedicating half a day to troubleshooting today, a technician arrived to "fix" my internet. Yet here I am again, stuck in the same predicament. The hold music--a repetitive piano piece--is beginning to feel like my personal theme song as I wait for 30 minutes, only to be disconnected. Start over, they seem to say, as if my time is endless and their service irreplaceable. I am canceling after this final insult. Two days work lost now. For those considering AT&T U-Verse, be warned: the cost of your time and frustration might far outweigh the service itself. read more

I have had some issues with this store years ago but we had a bit of an emergency and decided to give it another try. Natalie was absolutely amazing at helping us out with a slightly complicated situation. In a short amount of time she helped us get connectivity back for my special needs brother. I was having problems with data on my phone, so I went in to a store after wasting a ton of time with phone support. One of the reps spent a couple minutes looking at my phone and just seemed to kinda give up. At the end she basically insulted my phone for being cheap. Later, I put my sim card in another phone and had the same issue with mobile data. Clearly it's not the phone's fault. It was easier to just switch carriers than to deal with AT&T. I have never had a really good interaction with any AT&T employee, and this was no exception. read more

I am an elderly resident of Sonoma and went in to purchase my very first smart phone with some trepidation not knowing what to expect or if I would understand the process. I met with all three staff members and a salesman by the name of Carlos offered to help. From the very beginning until the end he was extremely knowledgeable and very courteous and explained everything in a way I could understand it. I was so impressed that I brought my wife back the next evening; and she purchased a smart phone as well. He was extremely helpful to her as well....I highly recommend this store ...ask for Carlos but the other two staff were equally good. read more

Just upgraded to the new iPhone 12 max was super excited. Until I dealt with the manager who on my first visit after spending 3 hours there trying to figure out why my data wouldn't transfer. Tells me the Phone is defective and I can buy another one or not my choice !! After waiting for 3 days for the new phone I'm still having problems downloading some of my apps. If you can avoid this AT&T location by all means do! We just moved to Sonoma and everyone has been welcoming and just amazing people. The exception was our visit to the local AT&T retail store to upgrade my husbands phone. It is run by incompetent and arrogant people who not only made the experience a miserable one but were ageist (my husband is 79) and seemed to relish his lack of tech knowledge. They messed up our family plan, forcing us to return to the store 3 times. The manager was the worst. I went back in to the store to get a cover for my phone unit, and to get the rebate forms. The sales rep that help us before was there and he was very helpful. He also helped me to set up my voice mail. So, I am pleased. I did notice that because the flow of business often slows down, the sales staff can get a bit bored. Or, because on a given day the flow of customers is often unpredictable, sometimes a sales rep will spend more time with one customer and not notice another that just walked in. So that is why I always try to be patient, friendly and take that into consideration. If you are in a hurry, find another time to stop by. No matter what, there is always a delay, even when reps are attending to your needs. Consider the time ti takes to, look information up on line, make changes or add new services or for them to make calls to service centers, etc. It also helps to bring either your phone bill or receipts with you as reference, just in case they are not able to look everything up on the computer. Also, it is important to be politely persistent and not give up so easy. That is why I say when you go into any of these AT&T places try not to be in a rush. read more

I came in to move my elderly mom's service over to my family account. I was helped by Robin, Marc and Ming who ALL pitched in to help answer questions and even helped me set up a new safety app on our account. While I was there I also witnessed them helping an elderly woman answer some pretty basic questions about how to use and set up her mobile phone, and was similarly impressed with how patient and courteous they were with what she remarked were repeated visits to the store. I would definitely recommend this store to others looking to purchase a new mobile phone. You could tell they were very customer service focused. Wonderful people all of them. On two recent occasions, the service was off the charts. They explained our options clearly and comprehensively and we got exactly what we wanted. On the second visit, when I went to get a bracket to attach my cell phone to the dash of my car, Robin, the manager, not only patiently showed me all the alternatives but after I bought one, HE WENT TO MY CAR WITH ME AND INSTALLED IT! Worst choice ever made switching from Verizon to AT&T. The manager robin is a joke and Maria is extremely rude..I called to talk to the manager after visiting the store for the 5th time trying to figure out where me credit and promo card were and she rattled some slur at me and hung up. Never dealt with her in any faction prior to the hang up. Almost three months and still haven't received my promised promotion card to pay off Verizon. Also never received over $200 in credit toward bill that was promised. The manager thinks he can talk to people any way he wants to and should not have been given any sort of managerial responsibility. I hope that whoever is reading this will go back and watch the videos and listen to the audio from the store to see how this "manager" speaks to people. I've been an AT&T customer since 1999. My sister, who is on my plan, needed a battery for her older Samsung phone. She was informed by the sales rep to go to Petaluma as the Sonoma store doesn't carry them. She ended up buying a new Samsung phone. A few minutes later I receive an email from AT&T requesting that I confirm the new plan, which was almost $50/mo. Higher than my existing plan. We immediately returned to the store to sort this out. I was told by the sales rep that they are not responsible for the email, and it comes from "corporate." I asked if we could return the phone and negate the ridiculous agreement-with a $50 restocking fee. I suggested That perhaps I should switch carrier, and the rep was more than happy to just release my account without ANY effort to remedy the issue. She was arrogant, condescending, and rude. I said that I would wait until I received my first bill before I give up on AT&T after 22 years. Avoid this store if posssible-the employees don't care about common courtesy and customer service. read more

Came in here with my AT&T phone (already paid in full) to ask about GoPhone plans, and the rep here said it wouldn't be possible-- that I could go from a GoPhone to an AT&T "contract" plan (or whatever you call them), but not vice versa. What a crock of sh!t. I called AT&T, and all I have to do is unlock my AT&T phone, then I can do with it whatever I want-- including a GoPhone plan. I have had numerous problems with the employees that work here. A lot of them are rude and arent very helpful. I have had help from only one guy that i trust, Jesus. He usually has to spend his time fixing everyone elses mistakes...My phone is turned off and i wanted to find out my charges and the guy who i was speaking to told me he could help me on the phone and that i needed to come in. I live in the Kenwood CA and have AT&T for my cellphone carrier and reception has become really bad. Many times I have "no service" notices on my phone. I found out many of my neighbors have the same issue, but AT&T says there is no problem. Don't get AT&T for mobile phone, the is no service and they don't care. He was very unprofessional and as my friend was in the store to purchase an iphone he was talking crap about the iPhone and how much he hates it. Lied to! Bought an iPhone 5 over a Samsung because the person helping me said it was a better deal. $99 OUT THE DOOR. No mention of the $25 a month added to my bill for the price of the phone. Which btw is a total of $650. As a sales person "out the door" should be first is your vocabulary. I let the sales person know that, that means final cost! The customer next to me told them she agreed. The 2 sales people argued with me, just kept telling me I was wrong while the "owner" (I've been told he was the owner) said NOTHING! No resolution was offered. Terrible customer service. They will tell you anything to get their commission! I will be reporting them directly to AT&T as they are only an authorized dealer and AT&T offers a service now to deal with shady dealers who tarnish their name! read more
