My experience at the AT&T store was okay at first. Riley is currently in training, so I understand that he's still learning and may not have all the information yet. At the beginning, there was a lady on the phone who was very helpful and answered all of my questions. However, I came back just a second after leaving because I forgot to ask one more question. I politely asked Riley if he could call the lady back since it was just a quick question. Instead, he told me he couldn't because "she's going to get furious," then gave me a facepalm gesture and raised his voice at me and looks irritated I work in customer service myself, so I understand that stressful situations happen, but I don't think that kind of reaction was appropriate. Customers should still be treated respectfully, even during training. Based on how he reacted, I personally don't think he would be a good fit for that position if this is how he handles customer interactions. read more

It was time to upgrade one of our phones so we called this location. The phone was answered promptly and we were informed what we wanted was in stock. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by Jaelin. He immediately started the process of getting the phone we inquired about and started the process of getting us set up. He asked about warranties, cases, ect. After deciding on a case he informed us of a promotion so we got a couple of more accessories. He was not high pressure...he just wanted to be sure we had what we needed. His service skills are impeccable and he knows his stuff. I learned a lot from him and when we walked out the door the new phone was just like the one we brought in. He took the time to transfer everything, install the screen protector, and also install the case. We could not be happier with the service he provided. 5 star service for sure. read more

Rude customer service. We went on a busy day and the lady behind the counter was really rude. When we asked her questions about the bill, she couldn't answer them because she didn't know and instead of apologizing for not knowing, she acted as if we were wasting her time. The other guy behind the counter who seemed to be the manager wasn't much better because he pretty much ignored the lady's rude behavior and lack of knowledge and customer service. Ok Carol, your entire story is wrong and here's why. First off, I figured after your Next-door post you would jump to yelp like the Karen you are so I am going to shed some light on what really happened. I came into the store shortly after you when you were talking to the gentleman at the counter. He was offering to get into the account for you (later he told me he technically wouldn't have been able to do that because you were not an authorized user) and put a note he received the death certificate so next time you called they could cancel. But being the stubborn Heffer you were, you refused to listen. Thats when Amanda came up front. Never once did they refuse to help you. Me and the other customer who walked in after me looked at each other like we were watching a rabid possum. You were NOT helpful to them in any way. They explained to you over and over because you did not have a certified copy they could not verify it. And Staples will not photocopy a legal document so don't try that. Every time I have gone into this store the employees have been wonderful. But it is IDIOTS like you that aggravate and annoy them to the point they don't want to help you. read more

When we were in Kitty Hawk in the outer banks and my phone died. I was still working and needed my phone. I was in a dire situation. I found their store online and went over around 5:00pm. Jared was working that evening. He was amazing. He tried to get my phone working and determined it was dead. He went into my account and determined I had insurance. He filled out the forms and quickly got the approval for the replacement of the phone. My dead phone was an IPHONE 6s and he got me upgraded to a 7S. The phone showed up at 10:30 the next morning. They swapped my phone and downloaded my cloud back up. My phone was back in operations in less then 24 hours. Jared and the team at AT&T kitty hawk were life savers. Thanks you read more

While visiting my hometown, I had some issues with my data so a quick stop into this Kitty Hawk location helped address confusion about how it was performing. The clerk was not very personable and honestly didn't seem to know how to respond when I said "hi, how's it going," but he was helpful once I outlined the issue and pushed for an informative assessment. He was thorough in his investigation: looking online, exploring answers in a text group for AT&T staffers, and then finally did have to resort to calling Customer Care. While he was assisting me, some lady came in and clearly she trusted him enough to just hand over her old phone for him to clean and reset. That says a lot. I didn't appreciate the interruption, but he handled it with grace. The store is clean, well-stocked, and can service your AT&T cellular needs whether you're a local or in town for just a visit. read more

I arrived at store on Saturday after driving over 1h 15m (from Hatteras), as I approached the front door an employee (Michael) was walking up to it at same with a bag of food. Hearing I had driven from Hatteras he graciously put his lunch break on hold (he explained normally that there are 4 people in the office but 3 called out and he was alone) he quickly tended to my business (update plan) and l was in and out less then 10 minutes. Horrible customer service at the AT&T store in Kitty Hawk. I was directed by the AT&T 800 line to go to the local store to resolve my issue. When I arrived, and explained my problem, Michael first statement to me was, "I wish they'd stop sending people to us. We are not a corporate store and we can't help you." ( nice way to start). I suggested twice that I call the 800 number with Michael there, and that between the three of us, we could hopefully resolve the issue. He refused to do so. At that point, Amanda (mgr? no idea, didn't introduce herself) appeared from the back. I went thru the issue with her, and was told I wasn't being helpful, so they couldn't help me. (Huh?) She then said she would agree to allow me to call the 800 customer service line but that it was a waste of time since they couldn't do anything for me without an original death certificate ( I was trying to cancel an account for a deceased relative, and had a photo of the death cert in my phone). I offered to email her a copy so she could print it out. She said she didn't have a printer (?). She said she needed "to verify it". I said if I went to Staples down the road and printed out a copy, would that work. She said I was free to do that but she still couldn't help me. Ugh! Amanda and Michael were rude, and couldn't be bothered to offer any assistance at all. I've been trying to reach their corporate offices to relay my experience. You guessed it...all calls roll directly to voice nail and haven't received a call back. read more
