In the Spring we mulch our yards(front and back) and it's a painstaking chore. Home Depot delivery makes this chore tolerable. This location has an excellent delivery process. Order ahead, choose deliver date and timeframe and viola, the products arrive as promised. An added plus is their communication, a constant update is given via text and phone call. Friendly and helpful staff. They do have staff working in the specialized areas like paint and hardware. Today the staff helped me with getting the proper sku numbers for a special order gas hose. I do like their app because it gives me location for some of the items that are hard to find. Parking is easy. I've also purchased mulch here back in the Spring. There is a special pickup area for mulch so don't be confused and expect the mulch to be in the garden shop. read more

I went to Home Depot to get some spare keys made. There was a lot of staff available and one customer service rep, Clay, came over and helped me immediately. We had a wonderful conversation while he made my keys and it made the time pass for both of us. I usually go to Lowes, but since Home Depot was closer, I went there and it was worth it. read more

I bought a GE washer and dryer because of the good reviews. One of the units was lost in the warehouse and delivered a month late. Upon delivery the two guys decided to disregard my directions to use the rear steps and instead took the dryer up the front stairs, scratched the dryer on railing and damaged our steps. Now the dryer had to be returned and we had to wait another two weeks for the replacement. I complained to Home Depot staff but they might as well had just laughed in my face saying."Oh ya we've had problems with the delivery company before but they are contracted so it's not our problem. 4 months into owning the units the dryer quit drying 2 weeks before our baby was due. I purchased the 5 year warranty but that does not become active until after the 1 year manufacturer warranty. I tried to schedule repair through GE manufactures warranty but the earliest they could get someone out was 1 month away. I ended up calling Beach repair and paying out of pocket. I also attempted to call Home Depot appliance center in Kitty Hawk but no one answered. They literally would pickup the phone and hang up immediately. I should have gone to Manteo Furniture abe Appliance. read more

I'm a homeowner (rental property) in Duck, and I feel strongly that if we all share reviews on Yelp we can avoid some of the pitfalls of trying to get work done on our houses. I would love to find local companies and workers who are great, or even good, but reliability and professionalism are sometimes in short supply. I used Home Depot for extensive work inside my home, e.g. lots of flooring, and they were fantastic. Brenda, in flooring, got me set up with a huge project, at a great price, even though I had unreasonable deadlines. All deadlines were met, and the workers (sent down from Virginia Beach) were absolutely great. The carpeting company (Romanoff, I think...) had great communication and handled a small glitch with good customer service. So, reluctantly, I have to suggest that folks go with the corporate option. I made a trip to this Home Depot and was extremely pleased, the workers are extremely nice and friendly one person who stood out to me was Opal, she helped us with heavy paint cans and was extremely nice. She made my experience a thousand times better. She brightened my day so much and I am extremely great full. Overall I have no problems they have everything I needed and more. I am in the process of a home renovation. I decided to buy the materials from Home Depot and use a local GC to complete the work. The employees are very helpful and did their job. How ever the installers that Home Depot has chose to work with are extremely rude and did not complete the projects during the time span they had promised. When I tried to discuss the issue with the General Manager he never returned my calls. I could only get a manager on duty to talk with me. The manager on duty would only say they could not help me. When I could not get the Home Depot installers or Home Depot management to help we decided to choose Lowes. Lowes is in the process of picking up the pieces that Home Depot left us in. I strongly do not recommend using the Kitty Hawk Home Depot. Very poor management staff. read more
