I have had AT&T service in the past but now am with a different carrier. AT&T was always reliable but their service is very expensive. This review however is for the service in the store. I recently came in looking for a pair of Apple Air Pods. I had looked around and a lot of retailers were sold out. The Apple store couldn't get them for another week and I honestly didn't want to wait, I wanted them before I went on vacation. Which as a side note, they are awesome!!!! When I walked in the store, I was immediately greeted and helped by a young gentleman. I told him what I had come in for and he took me over to the Air Pods. He checked me out and I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Great, fast service. The store was very clean and really spacious. It was also nice and quiet even with a few other customers in the store. UPDATE May 30, 2019. Customer service is of the utmost value to me. I'm going to say that overall the visit was worthy of 5 stars for Emily and her ability to resolve problems. The store was short staffed and the manager relied upon Emily continuously to help. That's a lot to Emily's character and the trust this manager had with her. Emily was literally multitasking working three clients simultaneously without missing a beat. I was most impressed with how she never lost sight of the customer while working on various tasks. AT&T should be very proud and honored to have such a dedicated committed customer center employee as Emily. I am first going to start out talking about Otto, whose name tag said he was the manager however it turned out he was just the assistant manager. He started out defensive as I was explaining to him what our problem was. I think when I pulled out the documentation of the phone calls and the printed conversations from the online chat he either was intimidated or overwhelmed either way he was not pleasant to deal with. I was having a hard time grasping why we were told one price on the telephone yet another price online with the chat and then yet another price with him in person. I also was having challenges deciphering the bill, again getting three different answers with each one saying the other was incorrect. I had written everything down that we had spoken about and reviewed it with Otto Asking if what I heard was correct. When I asked why then it was different and I'm showing him in writing from the chat he could not give me an answer other than that their system was different. when I asked him to sign it I think that sent him over the edge. his lack of eye contact his defense tone and is negative body language were truly setting me off as a customer. When I asked for his business card he brought over Michelle at first I was wondering why he was bringing another assistant manager over but now I know. Michelle graciously asked what was going on I asked her to sit so that we were on the same level I did not want her standing over me. She explained she was having back challenges so I stood next to her reviewing my notes. she is an advocate for her parents the way that I am for mine. The commonality of the advocacy allowed us to truly look at what was being done. She started out by starting completely over with the plan and going step-by-step of the plan, showing it to me on her iPad printing it out and emailing it to me. Her transparency goes beyond words and her customer centered approach, her detailed listening skills and asking open ended questions to clarify truly turned this visit around. After two hours of being in the store and the last 45 minutes with Michelle the latter is truly why this is a 5star visit. AT&T needs to take note that conflict resolution is done by someone who is skilled at communicating and I think Michelle should be the poster person for that. Otto needs to shadow her And take lesson of What true customer service is. We were truly on the verge of saying goodbye to AT&T and my parents have been with them when they since they were Southern Bell then BellSouth and now of course AT&T .they came so close on losing us and if not for Michelle we were gone. read more

Today, I asked my daughter to take her cracked cell phone to the AT&T store in Mandarin to start the repair process. She walked in to show them her phone. They simply handed her a paper and said contact them. I had previously taken a broken phone into a AT&T store and receive a different level of customer service. I stop by myself to inquire if the process for getting your phone fixed had changed. I was greeted by a gentleman initially, and when I explained that I had asked my daughter stop by another woman begin to interject herself into the conversation. Immediately, she was quite rude. I asked her if the process is changed, and she proceeded to say this is always been a process. I told her I had previously brought my broken phone to this store. I have even returned a phone here as part of an Upgrade. She responded, "You didn't go through that here." I again tried explain that I did do it that way at this store. She again responded. No you did not, in a very rude tone. I then simply stated I wish the process for phone repairs was explained in greater detail, as I may have chosen a different option like Best Buy or Apple. As both of those options may have been more convenient. She was immediately put off by that comment and proceeded to ask me. What do I mean by more convenient. As I begin to explain the difference and convenience between the various options, she cut me off, extremely rudely and begin to talk over me in the store. Also, the conversation began with her interrupting from 20 feet away sitting behind the desk, as the initial customer service representative attempted to assist me. Once I made a comment about convenience, she seemed to angry. As she then stood and began to approach me. She cut me off when I begin to answer the question she asked relating to convenience. She was beginning to escalate the conversation in a major way. Due to the fact that she was approaching me in a loud tone and I felt it was time to walk away. I politely said this is no longer a conversation when you will not let me answer the question that you asked and you keep talking over me. Not to mention, that you've essentially called me a liar. I'm posting this because management needs to address this behavior. This interaction felt like a commission driven engagement. Meaning a broken phone didn't make money so we're less important. I definitely wasn't treated this way when I purchased my phone. With three employees sitting available, I'm not sure why I were treated so poorly. Anson Hamm is the manager's name on the glass and I hope you read this and coach your employees. I've been with AT&T for over 20 years. It wasn't even called AT&T when I became a customer. This interaction makes me think it's time to look for better customer appreciation. I absolutely DO NOT recommend anyone frequent this location. Customer service is nonexistent. read more

I waited 45 minutes to see a customer service representative at this store. I always go to a corporate store because normally the service is superior. I was wrong in this case. Although I have bought three cell phones and this store and various accessories, the treatment I received on October 25, 2020, was so disappointing. After I wait and got to speak with a representative he didn't even pull up my account or even look at my phone. If I talk to one service rep and they say my bill should be X amt. then the next and next and next should say the same BUT they don't! I am extremely disappointed in our local AT&T store. I went into purchase a phone and they made an honest mistake and set me up with the wrong phone. I did not discover it till I got home after spending two hours of waiting for my phone to be backed up. When I called the next day they were rude said they would not charge me a restocking fee if I return. No one said I'm sorry or apologized. It was their mistake, I had asked for the iPhone 11 and they gave me the XR. I felt there should be some type of small compensation and they were snippy and rude. 20 year AT&T customer and I used this off shoot store in riverside on margaret Street I was told that my bill should be pretty much the same with a new phone as the current contract. Got my first bill amd it was double and they debited my account for double the amount with all these activatipnnfees and transfer fees and lord knows what else India tech support could explain. I was never advised by the store manager of this riverside store and I am so to pay a cancellation fee they now Trapped into. The manager of this store (at least as of November 2015) was one of the most abrasive human beings I have ever encountered. I am not embellishing when I say that he screamed at me in the store. All of the other customers were staring at us. It was incredibly uncomfortable. I felt embarrassed and angry. He was also disrespectful to my father, who is a very kind person and so un-deserving of such disrespect-- especially from an employee of a company to which he has given a large amount of money each month for the past ten years. I called the AT&T corporation and reported the incident. They were apologetic, but did not offer any plan of action or any follow up with me regarding the awful experience. All of this happened because my father and I came in and asked for the phone that was supposed to be on hold for us, but wasn't. We misunderstood the ordering process, and when we questioned him about it, he became enraged with us and belittled us. Wow! My heart just sank as I tried to make a return today for speakers that didn't end up working with my computer at home. At the time of purchase I was never told that there would be a restocking fee, even though I was encouraged to return the stuff if it didn't work out. After this return, I'm walking out with a $50 restocking fee! Think twice before you buy from these people! And ask about all the conditions for unforeseen consequences. Damn! I will never buy a big ticket item outside a phone with these people again! To their credit, they are the friendliest people in the world! Now I know why! I just have to say that AT&T High speed internet and direct tv is the worst service ever! They lie about their offerings about about bundling the service! They charge you for things they shouldn't! They lie about their offerings. Their customer service and technical support is offshore and barely understand anything. I am supposed to be in the hospital with my dad but instead on a 2 hour call to dispute ridiculous charges. I hate hate hate AT&T and direct tv is even worst. Don't fall for AT&T's IPhone BOGO promotions. The internet is full of stories how they sell you two phones and tell you that after 3 months you will get a credit for one of the phones. My Sales person confirms I qualified for the promo but after almost 6 months still no credit. You call customer service and they tell you the store has to issue the credit. If you go to the store the Managers are always in meetings and if you call they never call back. read more

BEWARE. ...they will add insurance to your account without advising you. They will also tell you they don't have the phone you want in order to sell a more costly phone. This is definitely one of the best att stores in Jacksonville. Jim is all about taking care of his customers. No problems. Everyone pays through the nose for cell phones and cell phone service and this place is no different.
