I took my AT&T Galaxy Tab A to a corporate AT&T store in Hanford, CA (1731 w. Lacey) to attempt to sign up for a stand alone, postpaid data only plan. The monthly cost, as I was led to expect from the community of reddit, should have been about $21. Redditers had told me to expect some trouble getting that plan, but it could be done. Everything at the store was done on a tablet and there was no paper. No documentation. The agent I dealt with had no trouble signing up for a $20 data plan for my tablet, but would NOT share any of the plan details with me. We fumbled around for about 45 minutes. They took a photo copy of the front and back of my Driver's license, explaining this is how they identify customers. Creepy. As we were wrapping things up, I said "I really need to see the details of this agreement." He went away and came back with a cash register receipt for the Sim for $0. I said no, I need the plan details. I need to know the complete monthly charges. He went to his manager, they asked for my Driver's License again, and then three of them were huddled around a table. I approached them, and the manager showed me the rest of the screen that the sales guy refused to show me. The monthly charges would be $37. "Taxes and Fees" he explained. "No F__king way!" I replied. The manager cancelled the contract, and I left the store pretty mad at AT&T. This was not a fumbling new guy. This guy had it down. This was AT&T trained fraud at an AT&T store. Not a reseller. I'm an engineer with an MBA. I spent my career in sales and marketing at HP, Raytheon, Toyota and KPMG. I understand a little bit about the sales process and contracts. I understand the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing. AT&T TRAINS there reps to commit fraud. They TRAIN them to withhold material contract information to close the sale. This might be a hell of a class action suit someday. You have been warned. I returned the tablet from whence it came and will never do business with AT&T if I can help it. read more

I don't know if it was laziness or incompetence but they were both strong qualities of Chris. I had an issue with my Direct TV service and asked to see the manager. Chris proved himself worthless and the manager couldn't even bother to come out to talk with a customer. So I left with no solution other than to call customer service.... I had to make a check payment for my boss who was in the hospital. I had the bill and the check in an envelope. I thought I'd just be able to drop into a drop box or leave with an employee. Nope! I had to be added onto their list of customers who are all buying cell phones. I ask a woman working "I really just can't drop payment off". And with a laugh she said "well how will you know if we submitted it?" So basically saying their staff is incompetent. I had FOUR people trying to accept this check. No one knew how. I understand that most people pay their bills online. But some still use checks. Especially older people. With, what looked like, 15 people working, it seemed like not one knew how to accept payment by check. I was in this store for a half hour. Just to drop off a payment. COVID-19 is here and I completely understand the want for safety & security. We waited in line yesterday for an hour and whilst waiting they had families of 4-6 being helped at the same tables... and when it came to my husband and I they said that they couldn't have family members of one or more inside at the same time due to CA orders.... after we just watched them serve countless of large families (and it wouldn't be a big deal if we weren't both getting new phones or if they weren't all of a sudden enforcing rules they weren't in the first place) We ended up making an appointment to come back the next day because the woman said the Iphone we wanted was out of stock, but that they would have more the following day.. which, they didn't... and once again they tried to split us up when they had other coupled together in the store... I have to say I actually hate coming into this store, because it usually takes hours, but as my husband points out, we always, ALWAYS get better customer service in person vs on the phone (which is terrible, awful customer service. we've been flat out hung up on). We've worked with 3 different employees and have been satisfied with our visit & the deals we got. This most recent time was a few days & we worked with Cory. He was very patient & answered all of our questions - we scored a deal on our cable, new iPad & new iPhone & ended up paying less than we had before on our bill! He even helped after we left the store with us texting him yet more questions! I recommend coming in even though it does suck a few hours of your life away. In the long run, it's worth it . I worked with Juan B and he had terrible customer service. He was pushy and only cared about getting a payment from me. He then left me alone to transfer information from my old phone to the new one. He didn't tell me if my number was transferred yet or if I had to do anything to activate my phone. I had to ask someone else for help when I was kicked off the WiFi. Juan never went over any pricing. He didn't tell me about the activation fees or tell me how my bill would change. The other staff was helpful but I would not recommend this location read more

I went in to have my broken screen cell phone apps, et al, transferred to my new phone and Luis Alvarez was amazingly patient and helpful. Not only did he contact at&t to help resolve my issues, replacement phone needed an update, but no big deal-showed me how them wrote sequence out for me to follow once at home! This experience was fabulous and why I stay with at&t for everything! Thank you at&t and Luis! You rock! Returned to at&t to have my ballistic screen protector put on, parking was a nightmare, ended up in the nearby field, but Carlos Cruz,assistant store manager, was a rock star! All of the service providers here seem to get the customer service part of retail! Wow, I was so happy with the help and professionalism, I can forgive the parking. I have AT&T U-verse. My internet was running so slow I was unable to download a software update. I contacted AT&T and they sent out a technician. He checked my system and said it was running fine. I subscribe for up to 6 Mbps download speed. That speed has always been enough for me. My speed was 0.08 Mbps. The technician said I should buy more internet speed. Here is what I don't get. If I'm buying up to 6 Mbps download speed and only receiving 1.3% of that speed why should I pay them more money? Shouldn't they just provide something reasonable close to what I already buy? Very disappointed and disgusted with AT&T Wireless. It started here and got even worse when dealing with the mental midgets online and by phone. UGH! They DO NOT honor veterans with just their VAHIC (not a valid proof of having served our country according to the bozo's by phone). I served 11 years honorably in "Uncle Sam's Canoe Club (US Navy), Operations Desert Shield/Storm disabled veteran) and my VAHIC card, which is issued by the Department of Veteran Affairs and states that I am a service connected veteran and has my picture on it, IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Plan on carrying in your DD-214 veterans. The other thing to watch for, and this is for all AT&T Wireless customers, is your data. If you have unlimited data, no worries. However, for those of us who cannot afford paying $75 per line for unlimited nor want their internet and cable (outrageous prices) in order to get unlimited data, LISTEN UP...check your data usage online or on your bill. Every 3 hours you rack up data, regardless if you are on WIFI, regardless if you close all apps running in the background. Though it may be KB it can still add up if you aren't careful. Could mean the difference if you end up paying their outrageous prices for each GB there after. I have spoken with a handful of morons by phone at AT&T and they are trying to say it is user error or something wrong with the phone and to take it in to their store. Not when it is on two different phones, in two different states, on two different internet providers, at the same time (even when you are asleep!!!!! Why is it always the user error, device, etc., and they NOT try to save your business instead of pushing you to leave them? Hmmm. Guess it's time to look in to going to SPRINT. Go to this store at your very own risk, and make sure if anything does not seem right you ask as many questions before you leave, so you don't get surprised charges. Review your bill, just in case you get an extra phone line (only have 4 phone and got charge for 5 lines), insurance or services you did not ask for. Also, if they tell you they are going to set a business account, and you really want that, confirm before you leave, because after you leave, there is not way the person would admit not telling you about it. The staff here are legit! Top notch service and willing to go above and beyond even staying almost an hour after closing to make sure the order I totally messed up online was corrected. Gil helped me through my dumb mistake and even got me a better deal than online! I got top dollar for my trade in and only had to pay taxes on my iPhone 6s! Wow We were greeted so friendly and enthousiastically by the male at the front and began to look at the 6+ and Note. The 6+ here was locked as well just like in Visalia (come on! Store PW then take the lock button off xD) my mom was geared more toward the note and started playing with it when Alycia came over. Just from watching her previous interaction nearby she seemed nice but wow. My mom asked a MILLION questions, and after a while so did I and my dad. She was not only attentive and patient but maintained a solid enthousiastic attitude durring the entire interaction. She was friendly and informative and went above and beyond to provide a great customer experience. One of the best experiences I've had at an ATT store. We were able to get my mom a mobile hotspot and they unfortunately were out of the 6+ for me, but they called the visalia and Tulare stores to check on the availibility there and of course they had them... But Alycia got her manager so we could voice our concerns and they both listened attentively and offered feedback appropriately. The manager explained that if we had any issues to call her and both of them gave up their business cards. I would highly reccommend this ATT to anyone in the 559 even if it may be a little bit of a drive. All of the employees seem happy and helpfull and its a confort to get good service, especially with how much we all pay for it. Its a relief to feel cared about as an individual and a customer and they pulled it off famously! read more

I've been there several times, I've never had such a good costumer service experience like the one I got last saturday March 29, 2014. It's the first time that my visit there was really pleasurable and happy. If you are looking for a great experience just wait for NATHANIEL. We waited more than normal but the wait was worth it. It was wayyyy more better this time than with the last time I went there. The other rep (luis) made me feel ignorant and I felt like he just wanted us to leave so he could go to the next person. This review is not only directed at the AT&T Retail store but also AT&T Corporate office. While with AT&T I was constantly charged for a higher data package in my wireless phone and changed my phone number back in June 2017 and still today seven months later they still can't get it listed correctly on my bill. I have had to call At&T every month when getting my bill to be corrected but the same situation would happen every month as At&T is so incompetent they can't do the simplest of things to correct everything. How hard can it be to bill me for the correct data plan and to update the phone number. Good bye At&T never again will I do business with incompetent corporation. read more

I went into the the Hanford AT&T location to find out if they could help me with my small crack in my brand new galaxy 7 active that I've only had for 9 days. I didn't drop my phone and was very upset that a phone that was advertised to be shatterproof up to 5ft could have a small 1"crack right in the middle of it. Even if at the end of this it is determined that they can not help me and I have to fix the phone my self is not the issue now. The manager ADRIANA was not very helpful or pleasant! She came over to the table and already started asking me what I did wrong for my phone to have a crack. She said very little to me and mostly spoke to Nathaniel, the sales associate,who was very polite to me even though I was upset. When she walked away without even saying another word to me. I asked him if she was really a manager because she has horrible customer service skills!!!! When you have an upset customer you should make it a point that when they leave they feel like you did everything to make them feel like you care about their issue EVEN IF YOU DONT!!!! The sales associate shouldn't be apologizing to me if I think the manager is rude. It's usually the manager who steps in and helps calm the customer so that they feel better when they leave and that they are not angry and then go on Yelp to share their horrible experience! I am writing this review to get my story about AT&T out. I have been a customer of AT&T Wireless for 15 years. I have also from time to time been a customer of other AT&T products. About three years or so ago, AT&T came out with their Uverse HDTV service in my area. As a self proclaimed techie, I am always looking for the best and fastest internet/TV service out there. With all the hype about the soon to be available Uverse service, I became one of the first in my area to sign up and have the product installed. As with all my previous experience with AT&T, everything was great. The system was installed quickly and professionally. I liked what I was seeing as far as speeds and TV quality. Everything worked ok for a month or so and then I started having issues with the service dropping out. Lost everything, TV, Internet, and phone. A long story short, I spent the next year calling service out at least two to three times a month, but they just could not get the system to stay up. After 12 months of headaches and the last month not working but about 5% of the time, I gave up. I think I did more and stuck with them longer than most would have. My kids hated me, my wife was always upset and I took the blame for it. I had them come out and disconnect the service so I could have the local cable provider come in and take over. Not what I wanted, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. AT&T sent me a bill for the last month and I called them to inform them I did not feel and would not be paying for the last month as the service was just not working. Why should I have to pay for something I did not get. Anyways here we are three years latter and AT&T has gotten to the point of blackmail. They will not let me do anything with my cell phone services. I can not even give them my money for new phones, can't get a SIM card replaced, nothing. Its either pay the $251 outstanding bill for the service that was not provided or they will not do anything for me. So, here I am at that point again. I have a phone that needs a SIM replaced, because they shut the phone off accidentally during the 2G sunshine. So their fault my phone was cancelled even though it is a 4G device and now it can not be fixed with a new SIM without paying the $251. I am cancelling my account and moving to one of their competitors. This is not what I want, but once again I have to do what I have to do. It is sad when I pay almost $300 dollars a month for all my phones, and spent many thousands of dollars with them over the last 15 years. Not to mention all the recommendations I have given to my friends and customers as I am a computer repairman on the side. So, my recommendation is stay away from AT&T. They have gotten to the point where they don't care about the customer at all. They expect payment on all contracts even when they do not fill their end of that contract by providing the service. This is just piss pour management. Now they not only are our the $250 they are blackmailing me for, they are loosing a reliable paying customer of over 15 years. read more
