I visited The Bone Store on Caldwell in Visalia CA on 2/23/2026 to purchase a compression sleeve for an injured wrist. When I arrived there were three customers in the store and one sales associate, Hector (Ceja), in attendance. Hector was helping a customer (couple) with compression stockings but acknowledged me, asked if I needed help and directed me to the right section. Then he went to help another customer who was inquiring about beds and complaining about prices. Hector was patient in trying to explain about the products and service available, the whole while the customer was online checking Amazon and complaining. Why that person didn't just leave and buy online, I have no clue. The store was well stocked and clean. I found the prices reasonable for the products and quality very good to high for the items I was interested in. Hector was courteous and efficient in checking me out despite seeming a bit distressed about the complaining customer's loud diatribe. He told me about a sale that would be starting up and gave me business cards. My brother-in-law wears compression stockings so I gave the information to my sister. They have shopped Amazon for compression stockings but find that they stretch out and deteriorate fairly quickly thus requiring repurchase. I suggested they check out the products at The Bone Store. I also did online research BEFORE going into the store and what I found was cheaper, but also of inferior quality. Ultimately, 'cheaper' often means repeated purchases costing more over time. I would recommend to any one looking for medical grade equipment to do thorough research, including an in-store visit to determine needs and economy. I went into this store a couple of weeks ago looking for an electric scooter for my grandfather, on behalf of my grandmother. The sales associate Hector was so helpful and friendly! He showed me different models and helped me choose the perfect one for my grandfather's needs. Very attentive and professional. The store was also clean and organized. BEYOND amazing customer service. Valeria (V) and John (the delivery and setup expert) are MIRACLE workers, period. I was in emergency need of a recliner and they worked late past closing time just to make everything happen for me and to make sure all went smoothly. V walked me through everything and answered all of my questions in thorough detail. You could not ask for a more caring, compassionate, and supportive team. I walked into the store last week while "V" was working. She was on the phone. Initially it sounded like business, then she began to add personal information regarding eating. I wandered around and she continued to converse, instead of advising the recipient of her verbosity, that she had a customer. A young man entered the store a several minutes after myself as she continued to talk on the phone. Once she hung up, the young man began talking to her...she did not put on a mask, nor was he wearing one! Instead of excusing herself by informing him she'd be directly with him as another customer was a head of him, she proceeds to chat. At that point I walked out. Customer service is everything, especially now. The owner lost a cash transaction and I lost respect for this salesperson. REPLY TO COMMENTS LEFT FOR THIS REVIEW. I appreciate your response to my comments, but you really did receive erroneous information. I did not threaten to put this on Yelp, I merely stated I was going to. You are correct in that I did call to ascertain this young lady's name, and to not harangue the issue much further, I would just like to add: 1. If indeed she was talking to a general manager, that individual would certainly accept her acknowledgment that a customer had walked into the shop and terminate the call. 2. Some of the information given to you regarding the entire episode (store/phone call) is also a bit incorrect, but everyone views things differently so that I understand and will disregard. 3. I did not assassinate her character, only her actions. 4. Your comments are appreciated except you did not acknowledge that I was very polite on the phone having never raised my voice, expressed I hope she would glean a lesson from said event, and enough said. These days maneuvering the health care system is crazy. I broke my ankle and have been calling places to try to get a walking boot. "V" from The Bone Store took the time to explain to me the process I needed, what the insurance could cover and answered my questions regarding trying to get one. She also gave me other options I could try since I am in a location far away from mainstream and if I ever had any other questions, I could give her a call. Went to the Bone store last week and was very pleased at how I was treated. I have really bad feet and ankles and the lady who helped me was very professional and nice. Her name was V. I ordered a pair of support, compression socks and panty hose. The prices are a bit high but I feel it is worth the cost to finally not be in so much pain every day.
