Misleading Sales, Broken Promises, and Zero Accountability I went to an AT&T Mobility store for one simple reason: to replace an iPhone. I specifically chose a model that was listed as in stock and confirmed it could be delivered the next day. This was important because it was a birthday present. Lidia, a Retail Sales Expert, explicitly told me the phone would arrive the next day. That assurance is the only reason I placed the order. Fast forward: AT&T now notifies me that the phone might ship in a month. When I tried to resolve this directly with AT&T, I was met with an estimated two-hour wait time just to speak with someone. Completely unacceptable. I then called the store and spoke with Lidia again. Her solution? Come back to the store, cancel the order, and start the entire process over--with absolutely no guarantee that the delivery would be any faster. In other words: "Sorry we misled you, now waste more of your time." This is either gross incompetence, misleading sales practices, or both. AT&T had no problem taking my money, but when it came time to honor what was promised, there was zero ownership, zero urgency, and zero customer service. I'm beyond disappointed. What should have been a simple purchase turned into a frustrating mess that ruined a birthday gift. If you value your time--or honesty from a company--think twice before stepping into this store. Every single one of the staff here was very nice. They were all personable and we're pleasure to be around. To me that's a very important trait because when you are doing an upgrade or you're buying a new line, you tend to spend a lot of time at the store and it's nice to make that time pass by. The one thing I will say about this location is that they upsold me on a new iwatch with a $200 off for trading in my old watch. When I brought my old watch back after transferring my data, they informed me that my old watch wasn't eligible for the upgrade (because it had a crack in it). They offered to do a refund as it was their mistake. I decided to take them up on that because they didn't make it clear at the time of purchase that there would be additional fees including a new phone line because the iwatch was cellular. I wonder in the back of my mind if they'd operated in a shady way. read more

I've always had excellent customer service and extremely knowledgeable and friendly reps. This past visit was the same and again, provided such great service! My rep., (Joe Nieves) was the best as he knew this mobile service industry inside and out! The store was supposed to open at 10 and at 10:10 I called to the store to find out why they weren't open. The employee noted they did not have enough staff to open. Ok so when will you? Don't know, when the manager comes in....when will that be.... don't know At 10:30 manager gets there but when I enter in store they were absolutely no help and told me I needed to call in to At&T . Just be careful when you go to this specific store. I went there to upgrade my phone and the woman servicing me attached numerous fee based options to my existing family plan. Insurance for the four phones on my plan, as well as ATT NEXT TO THE PHONES AS WELL ! She NEVER asked me if I wanted these options. I'm sure she did it to inflate her commission. The result was a $137 increase in my monthly bill that I didn't realize until I got it. The good news is I was able to take these bogus charges off my plan. The bad news is I had to pay the bogus additional charges for the partial month they resided on my plan. My advice, either avoid this specific store... or the sales woman that works there. read more

I stopped in to this store today to inquire about getting cell service. The store was pretty busy, so I hung around waiting for a representative to become available. In a short time I realized that most people had made appointments, and drop ins were queued on a monitor. I looked all around the store for a place to sign in and wait my turn. No luck...there was not any ability to sign in. Standing in the store, I decided to call and see what I needed to do to sign in. The phone rang and rang, with an employee sitting right next to it and would not answer. If you go to this location - make an appointment, otherwise you are on your own. This location needs: 1. More representatives to handle the volume 2. A clearly identified method for drop-ins to sign in and see where they are in the queue Needless to say, I left this store and will not be back. read more

I cannot say enough positive stuff about Solly Fizer and the team at this AT&T location. After the Sam's Club location made a mess of our new setup, Solly sat with us for almost 2 hours to patiently undo the old order and set it up correctly. They even had a manager go pickup a phone for us at another location to keep my mother-in-law from having to wait for a phone to be shipped. This location has excellent customer service. Having worked in nothing but customer service I was impressed. Ian Blevins helped me in picking out an Apple Watch. I had tons of questions and we had to play around with numbers to make sure what I wanted was going to fit in my budget. We spent over an hr going through everything. He was very patient with me and talked to me like he'd known me forever. Ian didn't try to up sell me with a whole bunch of stuff I didn't need, he listened to what I wanted and made it happen. My iPhone went into paperweight mode and was not coming out of it, no matter how much I whined. Huh, whining usually works!... but try as I might, the iPhone wouldn't snap out of it. Black screen. Dark, cold, unfriendly black screen. So dark. So very dark. I was getting dizzy. My iPhone and I haven't been out of communication with each other since I first turned it on months ago! What happened? What did I do wrong? I apologized for dropping it those many weeks ago, but perhaps it held a grudge. Forgive me, iPhone! (No, I never stopped to read the manual... That's why I have friends with iPhones whom I couldn't call in this unforeseen instance because my phone was out of service.) I rushed over here to AT&T in a cold sweat (and almost getting lost as I could no longer use Google Maps to direct me in this new town), praying that something could be done and much underestimating the cost of a replacement. A kindly gentleman asked how he could help... I handed him my phone. He pressed the button on the front and the power button at the same time to do a "soft reboot" whatever that means... And the apple appeared! YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joy overwhelmed me. Suddenly I was back in communication with the world, and yelping again within seconds. I checked in immediately via the Yelp app so I'd remember to give credit where it is due. These guys were polite, professional, and VERY helpful... saving me a replacement cost of $400, I'm told. read more

My 92 year old mom was having difficulty with her flip phone so we went in expecting to have to buy a new phone. Devin and Devin both helped her by giving her a new Sim card and updating her phone that cost her nothing. They were both very helpful and so personable. This is literally the worst AT&T store I have ever been to! Yesterday was my husband and I's first wedding anniversary, as a gift I wanted to get him the Note 10+. So we called and made an appointment for 4:30 today and made sure the phone we wanted was in stock. We arrived at 4:20 and a walk in was taken before us. What is the point of making a 4:30 appointment if you take walk ins first? We never even were greeted by an employee. After expressing our concern, they said they would get a manager to help. We explained that we were going to leave if we were not helped within 5 minutes since we were expected to be there within 20 minutes of our appointment so we expected to be helped within that window. The manager finally tries to help us. Well,.he was not knowledgable at all! The phones he told us were in stock were not, then he gave us the wrong monthly installment price of the phone we wanted, tried to call other stores to see if they had it and quit after they didnt answer the first time. We ended up going to a different store and can hope they can help us. read more

We are so glad that we stopped in to the Countryside Clearwater FL store on State Road 580. Adriano Carelli approached us after a very short wait. He was so amazing in every way. So courteous, knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and patient with all of our many questions and concerns. The whole process of upgrading a phone and adding a new line and getting a Black Friday promotion phone seemed effortless because Adriano made us not have to fret over any part of the process. We are so grateful that this whole experience was superb. I love my new phone sooo much!! Thank you to all that helped us today at the Countryside store. I have been coming to this store for many years. This was by far the best experience we have ever had in all the years we have gone to AT&T stores. I had a written quote of my monthly bill. I even spoke with manager about the savings. Surprise - when the bill came it was $100 higher than both sales and manager said. My advice if you have to use ATT is to record interactions and quotes. Writings on paper don't seem to matter. I was lied to about the bill. I am following up with corporate and BBB but also know they won't care. Be very cautious of using ATT. read more

Fraud! Went to the store in Sept to shop plan changes and get a new phone for 1 of 2 lines. Talking to the employee we were offered trade in on both phones totaling $1000-$1300 (depends who you ask at the store today). She also sold us a convoluted combination of AT&T and FirstNet plans that was supposed to be cheaper but ended up being $100/month more (would normally be upset over this if not the phone situation). Within a week we discovered that even though we turned in 2 phones for trade in we did not receive the credit. Returned to the store and were assured by the manager that it would be corrected and we would see it on the next bill. We went back every 4-6 weeks based on billing cycle assured it would be corrected on the next bill with credit, given a different excuse for the screw up each time and at one point told by a district manager that he had no record of the trade in and all but accused us of attempting fraud (2 days later an employee printed the record for us at the store). This week we returned again and were given a different excuse for their screw up, told we were absolutely right and we did everything we were supposed to, it had been too long and there was nothing they were going to do they suggested calling the retentions department. Called customer service, spent hours on the phone, got hung up on several times. Each time requested a complaint department we were transferred to Direct TV (?) who obviously couldn't help. Finally talked to the retention department who also agreed that they owed us at least $1000 due to their error, and even though we attempted to correct it in their correct timeline and they dropped the ball each step, there was nothing they were going to do. Now I'm stuck with 2 phones I owe hundreds of dollars extra on, can't get my old phones back and can't take these phones to another carrier until they are paid off. read more

Pissed poor customer service. Jamie was extremely rude, threatening to throw me out because I was upset because they screwed up my service. Had the nerve to touch me! She's lucky I don't have her arrested. I switched from Verizon to AT&T and bought 6 phones and a watch. Came tonight to pick up a phone they had to order. Had trouble getting it activated, was accused of making trouble (I'm the only one here, as it's now after hours), and they already screwed up one phone and sent me all over creation to get it fixed last week. I'm pissed and really considering switching again to Sprint. But I definitely will NOT come back to this location. read more

A few years ago, I would've given the store a 10 rating if they had one that high. Their manager and their staff were beyond excellent. I even went so far as to call the AT&T head offices on three or four different occasions to let them know just how good of a job the store was doing. But since then, they have changed management, and turned this place into one of the worst customer service areas I have seen. Extremely poor treatment from everyone there, including the manager. I went in there simply to get a new phone, and between the salesman I dealt with and the manager, they had signed me up for completely changing my plan and my insurance just to get the phone. This resulted in an increase in my monthly payment of around $50, but they flat out lied to me in the store then and told me that the bill was not going to be anywhere near that high. I contacted the head offices at AT&T to get it straightened out and they told me that I had to go back to the store to have them do it, because they had even assigned me a second line and I only have one phone! The salesman that I originally dealt with was there, and continually tried to talk over me and would not let me get a word in edgewise. So I then asked for the manager, and he was worse yet. No wonder the staff treat customers the way that they do, because that's how they are taught and trained by the existing manager that they have. It was so bad, that I called AT&T main offices while I was speaking to the manager of the store, and had them on speakerphone talking to him, and he was arrogant enough to make the statement to the AT&T representative at the home offices to tell them to repeat what they said so that he could prove to the customer that he was right and the customer was wrong! Heck of a way to treat a customer! I have filed an internal complaint with AT&T, and so did the representative that was on the phone with me at the time that I was at the store. He actually has filed an internal investigation into the handling and management of this location. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. This place has gone so far downhill, that if there was a rating less than one, they would certainly receive it. I highly recommend going to a different AT&T store instead of this one. If you think I may possibly be going overboard or overstating, just read some of the rest of the reviews by other people. Similar to others' experiences, when we went into upgrade a device we were given an additional line that we did not ask for. Upon questioning the sales rep, we were assured the third line was the only way to get the best deal and discounts and would cost us less. We even questioned why the new phone was linked to the new line and we were told "don't worry, it doesn't matter. Just switch the SIM cards." Our mistake was believing him. Weeks later, the store refused to help fix this. Customer support created a ticket for us to return the device to correct this (warning: the sales rep linked the new phone to the third line to lock us in). Customer support advised us to go to the store to return the device and cancel the extra line - the store refused to help saying customer support must do this. After days of going back and forth with each saying the other was responsible, we decided to pay off the phone and switch service providers. read more

I would've given this store a 10/10 2 years ago and mangers were awesome, but recently went in there to get the S20 5g and was never told anything specific details about what my trade in phone had to have on it and anything that was stored on the storage. I had already paid for the samsung s20 and then tell me after they can't take my trade in and say I will Have to pay a 20% restocking fee and then this where things don't make sense the manager comes back and says ok I fixed it we are all set and good to go and says to call at&t and cancel the other phone number because I had to make a new one with the promotion they were running. So here I am now almost 2 months later and at&t calls me and says I owe $950 which is outrageous I have a receipt saying 3 years for $10 a month, I know exactly what the manager did and he charged me the whole phone because he didn't want to deal with me aka the customer because I had been there for an hour and half and it was my 3rd time coming in that day. They will be hearing from my debit card company because at&t just takes your money and scams you, I never agreed to pay full amount to a phone that come out last year like what sense does that make. read more

Disappointed In their customer service. Went in yesterday to get a sim card for an iphone which is being switched to a new account. I had already worked with customer srvice on the phone regarding this, and only needed the card. They insisted that I had to wait at least 30 minutes for a customer service rep to assist me. I did not have the time time and stated so. The person coordinating things was insistant, but I could not stay and left mad. What really kills me is that this morning I realized that there are 2 more stores within 5 minutes away. Since I did not have time to wait, the person should hav directed me to another store, THAT would have been customer service. Instead, I will never go back to that store. read more

I came to this location to purchase a new iPhone and had questions about my existing trade in which was not working properly but under warranty so I asked to speak to the manager. I was told that "Kyle" was the manager and he was on a conference call and would be with me in 10-15 minutes. When he finally came out of the back room, he did not introduce himself, say hello, or offer any kind of greeting you would expect to receive as a customer. Instead, he said, "I'm not sure if I can help you". I asked if he would like my phone number to review my account notes as I had already spoken to the warranty department regarding my replacement. He said that was not necessary as he knew the situation and for me to call Ascurion (the warranty company). He was very rude and unprofessional to say the least! He had no interest in even attempting to resolve the issue and therefore lost a sale that day for a new iPhone.
