Convenient location but a bit pricy. Had two wool blankets cleaned there and paid $60 dollars. Thought that was a bit expensive seeing as the blankets were small. My husband has gotten his sweaters cleaned there and he's been happy with their service. read more

Loses clothes- when you pay good money for services and they lose your clothes it's not a good feeling

If I could give zero stars I would! I dropped off multiple pieces to be Dry-cleaned. They lost my suit! Could care less that it was missing. The items that I did receive back were absolutely NOT clean and smell horrendous! Stay away from this place! read more

Woman behind the counter is beyond rude!!! She had zero comprehension that her customers are her income. After a year of dealing with her attitude today was the final straw! She literally yelled at me that my clothes are "hard" & told me my jacket took her guy an hour to steam. (Lady... That's why I am PAYING YOU to steam it. You pick the prices I do not complain about the price of anything & I'm a biweekly customer) I gladly replied "I'm sorry my clothes are hard I will never bring them back again then!" :) read more

I have been a customer here for 15 years but now I will never return. This past spring when I went to drop something off they told me that they found a suit that I had left off two years ago and they never returned. I did not like it but did not make a big fuss as I had not missed the suit but had been looking for it. This past week I have been looking for a very nice coat that I could not find at the house so I went to the cleaners to see if maybe they had it. The coat has sentimental value as it was a gift from my daughter. Sonny, The Asian lady at the counter, Got very upset and very rude with me. She would not let me get a sentence out And kept interrupting me. All I I was trying to do was ask to see if maybe they had it. I wasn't raising my voice or being impolite but she was. Another customer came in behind me and she said " I have customers " so I stepped aside and let her take and finish with that customer. After the customer left I again tried to ask her and explain to her why I was asking her because of the situation that happened with my suit last year. She again Got very rude and had the nerve to say that now SHE was getting upset. I will never go back there again and spend my money on someone that treats long loyal customers so badly. Stay away... do not use this cleaner. read more

The Asian lady at the counter should find another business. Customer service is not something she has a clue about. I left my ticket home and asked her to look it up. She took my phone number and said "nothing here". I have a mens black suit here. She would not even look for it. I went home (15 miles) and got the ticket. She put the wrong name and phone number on it. I asked her "if I had lost my ticket, what would you have done, kept my suit?" Apparently that is what she would have done. NOT ONCE DID SHE SAY SHE WAS SORRY. I pointed out to her that it was all her fault. She put in someone else's name and number. STILL SHE DID NOT APOLOGIZE. Last time she will see me! read more

Extremely rude salesperson. No posted prices and when I asked the price she refused to tell me! In my opinion that either means they are overpriced or they have a sliding scale based on how you are dressed and the type car you drove up in. This should be a red flag people!!! read more

Astra Cleaners is in a great location, and the owners are always friendly. They do all their cleaning on site and do an excellent, thorough job. They go out of their way to make sure you have your clothes cleaned or tailored on time or even earlier - highly recommended! read more

Convenient location for me. Never had a problem with the woman at the counter, never had a problem with their prices or services. Anytime I've dropped off my clothes, they were ready to be picked up when promised and looked great. read more

first and last visit there .. first thing the lady behind the counter is as rude as can be should take a course in people skills .. after getting home and looking at my receipt i was shocked at the price 15.00 for a sundress that i paid 15.00 for 17.70 for a suit are you kidding me??? they are way over price and are just as good as other cleaners around.. and the icing on the cake they under charged me and added 6.95 to my bill when i got there there.. take your clothes anywhere else you will be glad you did !!! read more

This is the worst place in this area! That Asian woman in the front is rude and don't know how to communicate correctly and then is your fault that there is a problem! I went there and took some clothes and she couldn't get it ready and I ask for my clothes the next day and she didn't wanted to give them to me! She never did! She raise her voice to me even thought I was calmly asking for my clothes! She is crazy! Don't go to this place they are the worst human beign! read more

This was my dry cleaner of choice however on my last experience there when picking up the owner pointed out to me the belt loop on one of the pants ripped (they were practically brand new). She expected me to pay to fix it after they damaged it. Sorry definitely not happening and will not be returning just because of that. Lost my business for good. read more

Terrible. Every single time I go there the Asian lady, who I assume is the owner, gives me a problem. I don't know why I even bother giving her additional chances. From now on we are finding another place. She's rude and acts like you're inconveniencing her constantly. read more

I will never go back!!! After 33 years of bringing my clothing to Astra Cleaners... After watching them change hands from Pauline to the new owner who's been there for at least 10-15 years... I Finally walked out on them. I walked in to be told that the shirt that I bright in in was torn. They have damaged things in the past & refuse to except responsibility when they do so. I always gave them the benefit of the doubt and what I learned from that was... always check the clothing before bringing them in. So I always do. This shirt was clearly caught in something & pulled out hence tearing it. You can see the pinch mark v I understand it's an honor thing... so I never accused I only asked in several different polite ways. I kept my voice low yet I was getting screamed at. I made it clear that after 33 years I would be willing to walk out & never come back... was she sure this is the way she wanted to treat a customer of that many years. Her response was "Smell the shirt you see it was not cleaned" I smelt the shirt it smelt from dry cleaning fluid... the creases still sharp, the collar and cuffs were immaculate (something my husband never achieves after wearing a shirt) so I told her it's smelt from dry cleaning fluid and that the collar & cuffs were immaculately clean.. Wondering what that all proved. I walked out and then realized I had paid for the item in advance with all the other items that I brought in... So I walked back in & pointed that out... I was told that "you use credit card no cash". So I said no problem just credit my account... I was then yelled at some more told "I cannot do that". So I said do one or the other since you say you never cleaned the shirt then credit my account or give me the cash... I don't care. At that point she got even huffier and handed me five dollars. They want all the respect paid in their direction but are not willing to respect the customer. They are not willing to except the possibility that they did damage. Nor are they willing to give a tiny partial compensation. Hmmmm! read more

I will never go to Astra Cleaners in Hazlet ever again! They ruined my mother's dress. When my mother tried to talk to the woman who worked there about it, the woman clapped in my mother's face. How can someone be so disrespectful to their customers?!? Then my father called to try and fix the situation and the woman hung up on him! This place has no respect for their customers. They ruin people's clothes and do not even try to compensate for their mistakes. Astra Cleaners has lost my business forever. I give them 0 stars. read more

Absolutely Horrible! No concept of customer service. Ruined our clothes then gave us a terrible time about paying for them. There are other noptions in the area. Owner may have anger issues. Will never go back. Had been a customer here for over 30 years and would not back even if the offered to give me the deed to the place. Read all the reviews then you decide. read more

Stay far away from Astra Cleaners of Hazlet. Horrible service. The woman at the desk is very nasty and unprofessional every time we go. She makes us feel as if we're causing problems for them by bringing our clothes in to get cleaned or repaired. We finally decided to go someplace else after she made another mistake and tried to charge us a second time to fix it, then started yelling at my husband and lying about it. No one needs to put up with abuse like this. We're now supporting another business who treats their customers with respect and decency. read more
