Stopped in on a Tuesday and service, decor, and food were all great. We started with the grilled octopus. I've had a lot of octopus and when cooked great it's maybe among my favorite foods. When cooked poorly, it can be terrible. This was not just cooked superbly well - grilled with some char still on there - it was sliced thin and so it had this texture i've never tasted before. It had this texture of like a lighter chicken. Don't know how to describe it, but absolutely incredible and would highly recommend. Absolutely worth the price. My wife then had the swordfish wrap and I had the lamb ciabatta. The swordfish wrap had a large amount of fish and while it wasn't quite my flavor profile it was still good. My lamb ciabatta sandwich on the other hand was excellent. Everything about it had me wanting more: from the smooth honey aioli that added this hint of sweetness and really smoothed the rest of the flavors out to the perfectly cooked lamb that was lean and full of flavor as well as the ciabatta itself which was like and airy but great at holding the sandwich together. Eaten from here twice now. First time was takeout and second time was in person. So this will be two reviews in one. Takeout: Fine to good. Nothing was amazing. Would have not revisited this place had it not been for the fact that we needed to find a place that would accommodate our party of 6, outdoors, on a Tuesday (most restaurants in the area don't seem to be open on Mondays and Tuesdays) In person: AMAZING. Jonas was the best waiter. We were seated outside (4 older folks with compromised immune systems) as requested but the weather forecast was 100% chance of rain during dinner. As our bread and wine came out it started to drizzle. On our backs. My husband asked if we could sit in the other outdoor area that has 2 fire pits. They rearranged the tables so we essentially had a private party outdoors. They were all so accommodating and understanding. And the food... the food was FANTASTIC. Ordering takeout doesn't do this place justice. Forgot to take photos until our mains. Get the lamb shank. But honestly everything was amazing. I'm really not sure why this place has such great reviews because my experience was not great. The restaurant itself looks very nice and the bread was good but that's it. The hostess kept bringing people outside and then kept saying oh there are no clean tables, so she had to wipe it down while the people stood there waiting. I heard her do this with 3 different groups of people. It was a slow day so if she had just cleaned the tables the first time she noticed they were dirty this could have been avoided. The waitress was extremely slow. Didn't come to check on us. She didn't write anything down and forgot my club soda so I just never got it. Then when I gave her my order she had to come back after she had already left the table because she couldn't remember what side I got. We asked for more bread which didn't come until we reminded her that we had asked for more bread. She gave us diet soda instead of regular. Then the mahi mahi we ordered was dry and unseasoned. The haddock was okay but it had giant capers on it and they seemed to overpower the dish. Overall an unpleasant experience. read more

As regular summer visitors to Falmouth we frequent our favorites almost exclusively. This summer we made a decision to try some new spots. Had our first experience with Estia recently. We allowed our server to plan the meal from cocktails to dessert. A most enjoyable evening, pricey by our local experiences, but worthy dining. First time in this restaurant and we have been trying to go here forever and finally got a choice. As vegetarians, there are some options but unfortunately they are are not very good. We didn't try the pizza and maybe that's the mistake we made and biases the rating downwards. For appetizers, the fried zucchini chips were really oily. For main courses, the veggie gyro was ok with no flavor. The veggie kebab was ok - nothing special. I had to request hot sauce to add some flavor to the food. To be fair I don't know if it's Estia or Greek food in general that is to blame for this experience. I am not saying it was awful - but can do better from both choice and flavor. The choclate cake for desert was good. The wait staff and the front of table were also friendly and attentive. Amazing meal and fabulous service. Our initial server had a family emergency and had to leave right after he took our order. The next server picked things up seamlessly and was delightful. Service was 10/10. The cocktails were excellent. We sat on the patio out front which is perfectly shaded. Our entrees were perfectly cooked and the salads and bread before the meal were high quality. As someone who went to Greece for 3 weeks one summer I have been missing their food SO MUCH. Estia is the authentic Greek food I have been missing since my trip. Do you like spiders? Do you like wine? If you answered yes to both questions then you will be in luck sitting in the patio area. I unfortunately, I am not a fan of spiders. So I informed my waitress that there was a spider in my wine glass. She let me know that was part of the risk of sitting outside. She offered to bring me a glass of wine which turned out to be at the same level as it was returned to her. There was still sediment and pieces of what looked like parts of spiders. This was pointed out to the waitress, she again said that was part of being outside. The contaminated wine was not taken off of the bill. This was disappointing. The kebabs of swordfish were delicious. The service... Not so great. read more

After a spur of the moment dinner decision, we decided to stop in Falmouth after a day at Martha's Vineyard. Many restaurants had almost 2 hour waits, but then we found Estia. Most in our party were on board for pizza, but my husband was a tad disappointed we were getting Greek food. It was only a half hour wait so this place won! The restaurant is gorgeously decorated and the bathrooms were very clean, spacious and modern. While waiting for our table, we watched stuff hustling. They were clearly frazzled and were overwhelmed and were having conversations and deep breathing in front of customers. I understand it's the end of summer and it was crazy, but maybe take a second and go in the back of to de-stress? When we were finally seated we were able to get beer and wine and order quickly. We had a wonderful time. By the time our meal finished many tables were available, but we still seemed rushed. Some staff were trying to box items up while we were still eating and we caught our waitress rolling her eyes that we hadn't put the credit card in the holder immediately. I completely understand if there is a wait of people coming in, but nobody was waiting and several tables were available. Pizzas were delicious! My husband and I split the scallop pizza and my parents split a pepperoni. Overall a good experience, but quality of service could be improved. read more

We live in Falmouth and have been meaning to try Estia Falmouth since they opened a while ago. Having never been to the location in Mashpee, we didn't know what to expect however love Greek food. We were turned away by another restaurant in town, as they said, "We don't take names." When we asked to sit outside. Therefore, we made our way to Main St. as I remembered we had a gift card to Estia. From the moment we walked in, the two hostesses were welcoming and genuinely happy to have us there. The restaurant was busy and we asked if there was a possibility of us sitting outside. One of them said, sure just give us a few minutes as we think someone is leaving. One left to check on the table and the other engaged us in conversation to pass the short wait. Next, we sit down. We are greeted by our amazing waitress, Madeleine, who was also welcoming and once again happy to see us there. The service was outstanding. I know that we are hurting for staff right now however everyone at Estia was working. They were all attentive, including the bus boy who never stopped while we were having dinner. The food is outstanding. We lived in NYC for many years and frequented Greek restaurants there, so the expectations were high. Estia didn't let us down. We had kabobs, Gyros, spreads and specialty drinks. All were amazing. For the food, atmosphere, stellar service and experience itself, I was expecting a much higher bill. But it was very reasonable and we are definitely headed back! This was our first visit to this restaurant in Falmouth and we are self-professed "foodies." Hands down this was one of the best meals we have ever had. Each dish was immaculately crafted. You could taste all of the flavors identified in each description and everything didn't disappoint. The bread and olive oil was a tasty introduction, followed by a fig and feta spread. Yia Sou! Met a group at Estia for dinner on a Friday night. The interior of the restaurant was gorgeous. Open, clean, warm, welcoming, and hip (do people still say "hip?"). Our server, Mladen (as he explained, "like Aladdin, but with an 'M'"), was great. We were one of those server-annoying, "we'd like 12 separate checks" groups, and he didn't even bat an eye, assuring us, with a smile, that this would not be a problem. As usual, I asked for suggestions, and he was ready: the lamb, the steak, and the cod special. Since it was a Lenten Friday, I chose the cod. And, as my profile says, "I tend to order the house special and be cheerfully disappointed." And I was. C'est la vie. First, we were served bread and salad. The bread was fine. The salad could have been great but was drowned in a very creamy salad dressing and did not have enough acidity (I watch Food Network). Mine had two tiny olives and needed more, and some red onion (or even pepperoncini?). If you go, maybe ask for less dressing. When my entree arrived, everyone agreed that it was an enormous portion of food - the largest dish at the table, other than the pizza. Being old school, I don't start to eat until everyone has been served, and that took a while. The two people in front of me were half-finished with their salmon by the time the last person was served. This, unfortunately, gave my enormous portion of cod time to chill and the phyllo time to grow chewy. The cod in crisp phyllo dough was served atop water-rich steamed zuccini and squash, so the bottom had turned mushy and the rest was crunchy/chewy. The sauce had also congealed and was more gelatinous than creamy. Just not for me. Oh, and as everyone on Food Network says, "it needs salt." The two people across from me loved their salmon; one gentleman raved about his white sauce pizza; another said her vegetarian lentil soup was excellent. Another did not care for her mousaka, but had loved a prior meal there. On Fridays, they usually have live Greek music and dancing, which the group had been looking forward to enjoying, but that had been canceled that evening. Disappointing, but hey, life happens. I'm not in any rush to go back, but I wouldn't in any way try to deter you from giving it a go. The atmosphere, service, and menu options are all great. read more

I would go again to try more on the menu! Beautiful atmosphere. We started with the Grilled Octopus app and Melanzosalta. Octopus was very good, I would absolutely recommend it. Pita for spread was very soft, warm and plentiful. For dinner we ordered Wings, Pita Gyro, Spanakopita and side Greek salads. Wings were just ok, we wouldn't get again. Pita gyro did not have enough tzatziki (but we were given extra after asking) the pork was very fatty. The Spanakopita tasted bitter, I sent it back and ordered a pizza (to go) that tasted good. Greek salad was average (typical variety, feta was the crumble kind and I prefer block feta) so I wish I tried the traditional village salad on the menu. Other meals coming out of the kitchen looked good, I would go back to try more of the pizza offerings and perhaps the seafood entrees. Service was ok.
