This company managed our property really well and were very quick with needs! The problem is when they're no longer your HOA management company. Since August 5th, I've been trying to get an answer why I was charged for my monthly fee, when I sold my property on August 1st. I had removed my card from the account but have been ignored. I can't login to the portal anymore because they removed my account, however getting an answer any other way is impossible. Last week, I was asked to call, which I don't want to do as I want written communication. I've been ghosted since! Overall, good management company but if you sell, make sure you remove autopayments at least 6 months in advance since it'll probably take that long to get your money back, or even an explanation! read more

Worst ever!! They lost our check that we were awarded for a legal case. We never got the money for that as I was busy with MY JOB and so were the other board members. They never took accountability for it- 4k!! AND they took on our roofing project and outsourced our roof as we were glad to save 10K, regrettably. They hired people that were not roofers and they did an AWFUL job. Shingles were all flying up and off of the roof 2 weeks after the job. They did not do the drip edge and other promised agreements. We got them to do repairs afterwards but they would not do the right thing and replace out roof from the horrible job. And now we are told we need a new roof after 3 years because this one was so poorly done, not nailed properly, not of quality materials, not using sealants, etc. There's leaks like before and lost shingles. Dead end after dead end. No one wants to help me. I even reached out to Crystal Gant who is the VP of operations. I had to email her three times before she got back with me with again with no help. One of the associa members Ken was short, demanding, and not very helpful. I've created a new request which has been ignored. In 18 months, our HOA is now going on our 8th property manager. This management company can't keep employees. Their response to our community is practically nonexistent. Just for an example, we needed bids for tree trimming. The only got one bid from the company that mows and they don't even do tree trimming! That company bids it out and charges us an upcharge. Volunteers called for bids. Tonight was our annual homeowners meeting. A half hour before the start we were informed that our new property manager of 18 days quit that day! Worst HOA ever. Town Square turned my account inactive without my knowledge or notification after being on autopay for years. They didn't have an answer as to why it happened. I disputed the $60 of charges it imposed in May. Was told to only pay my normal quarterly charges until the board could review and that my account would be frozen. Fast forward 4 months now and a dozen times of trying to get in touch with the stupid HOA, the fees have now grown to $115 and the board decided to only wave $45 of that. Now I'm again entangled with them at a residential property close to Zilker where I've been trying to pay my HOA dues since March 2023 and they simply can't get my online account fixed, and they don't provide any other way of paying. 3 months so far of email back-and forth with Christiana Ennis, Taiya Guillory, and Greg Mock. Update!! Our community finally got rid of this company!!! I'm literally watching one of their incompetent employees dragging a ladder across our grass instead of across the parking lot. I'm assuming theyre trying to figure out one last thing to screw up around here. Also they're illegally parked in the spot reserved for fire trucks. My last warning before this company is nothing but a bad memory: I asked them to change a light bulb for over a year. On December 1st I said to bring me a ladder and I would do it myself. On December 26th they responded saying they appreciated my enthusiasm but they would get to it. Are you freaking kidding me?? Yes. I fixed it myself. On a pretty monthly basis one of their reps would drive here, take a picture of my patio from their car, and try to fine me. They never walked the property. Our HOA board was left to find everything. Plumbers. Electrical. Landscaping. No help from them. They were paying themselves to drive over here and take pictures of my patio. Even after the HOA telling them to stop. Any company that asks you to sign something saying they aren't responsible for anything so you can't sue them for any possible lawsuit is a joke. Owning a real estate property in a complex managed by Associa is surely a disaster. I happened to have a few places in Texas and California, managed by respective branches of this company. They never respond to inquiries from homeowners, all they do is to earn their fees from the HOA, causing angers from the homeowners towards the HOAs. In one case, I had to sue the HOA to get their response. They are indeed a liability to an HOA. You know what, they will post a response after my negative review. Like all the branch offices, the email in their response is also not responsive, just a showing how they care their reputation (I did try to communicate with them per their response). This company is an absolute joke. Their "management" of the Greenview on Barton in Austin is absolutely atrocious. Within a month of moving in, I received a threatening legal letter regarding my HOA fees even though I'd received no information about how or when to pay them. I sold my condo and move out over 3 months ago and was charged HOA fees after I left which they are refusing to reimburse me for. Even better - now I'm getting bills for assessments for a place I don't even own. So now my credit is at risk too. I'm having to get a lawyer just to get this association to do there jobs and take me off of whatever system manages the owners. I don't live here. From working with me on getting my dog, Rex's approval by the board before I signed the purchase contract (pic happily, to hearing out petty grievances like other resident's not picking up their dog's poop, she really does go above and beyond in her role and we're all very fortunate to have her. For most of us here, we really are a little community. And sometimes a figure of authority is needed to help either enforce community guidelines, or simply offer some advice/suggestions on things pertaining to our home. My HOA has suffered service disconnections due to their consistent mismanagement and is hovering on the edge of default. It is like pulling teeth to get their staff to take care of anything, requiring countless emails, and even then things are never done well. They have shuffled our HOA through an endless cycle of property managers, each of whom blames their predecessors for issues, and they seem to have major issues with documentation, even though they charge us exorbitant fees for document management. read more

Today, it would not even let me submit the form. Then I tried calling and the automated system said the party I needed to speak to was unavailable and to leave a message. Customer service problems are just the beginning of the bad news when it comes to dealing with these people. Multiple signs at the entrance to my subdivision have been damaged for more than 7 months. When I called the property manager to find out what was taking so long, she blamed the board of directors. In a reply to the BBB they said that they, "have no control over whether the signage is repaired or replaced." This statement DIRECTLY contradicts a letter they sent all residents that state, "Our firm is responsible for the financial operation of the Association, the physical operation of the common areas, and enforcement of deed restrictions." Are they responsible or not? Well, apparently, they are responsible when it comes time to accept payment, and they are not responsible when it comes time to resolve issues. Not only do they seem incapable of getting the sign repaired, they have refused to do ANYTHING to fulfill their responsibilities of maintaining the common areas. Although they blamed the sign damage on vandals, they could not provide a police report documenting the vandalism. They say there is no money budgeted for the repair, but they also could not provide a quote for repair, so I don't know how they know that. Also, since they are responsible "for the financial operation of the Association" aren't budgeting problems their fault? They are essentially creating a mess then complaining about the mess. I tried filing a complaint with the BBB (I just want the sign fixed already!!!), and the case was administratively closed because I refused to pay for mediation. I feel like I have no recourse other than these kinds of forums because I still have to pay these thieves. To make matters worse, my HOA dues are going UP while I have to look at two broken signs as evidence of their ineffectiveness every time I drive to my house. read more

Not only terrible customer service, but basically theft. 3 months ago they began auto drafting from my account when they were not supposed to and overcharged me. I was finally able to get someone to issue me a refund 2 months ago that has still yet to be seen. Countless phone calls and emails and no one in their office ever answers or responds. I have been trying to get this money back for months and needed it for the Holidays and still do not have it. This company is a joke and a disgrace as well as their incompetent workers. I have no idea why Associa is so poorly rated. I just bought a condo at Silverado Condominiums in Austin, and Associa has taken care of my issues in under a couple hours both times. They are extremely friendly, communicative, and quick! The first issue was getting pest control out - they coordinated next day service. Second issue was a plumbing issue due to an upstairs neighbor - Associa coordinated SAME day plumbing assistance and communicated with the owner of the unit on my behalf to get everything fixed. They have been great keeping me in the loop about status of my issues as well. I understand different people manage different properties, but their representatives for Silverado Condominiums have gone above and beyond. I *highly* recommend them. If you have trouble with your particular condo, you should report the issue to Associa, because it's most likely just an issue with your representative, and not the HOA as a whole. read more

Might as well be a criminal operation, avoid at ALL costs if possible. $310 dollars just for them to provide an up to date HOA policy - they have it available on the website, but do not "guarantee" its up to date. Terrible, terrible operation, would leave zero stars if possible, and cannot wait for the "sorry for your inconvenience, you can email us but we will still extort you." In July the Easton Park HOA (operated by Brookfield Residential) switched to Associa to manage the HOA business. We were paid through June 30. The next payment was due on September 30. After that transition we did not receive ANY communication from Associa until they sent a delinquent notice with a 32% late fee two weeks ago. I sent them copies of the payment made to the previous management company (since it was due before they took over). Today they sent us a pre-collection notice for two missed payment and the late fees. In fact, they've sent it to nearly EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT of Easton Park. The next payment isn't even due for another week -- and yet they threatened collections for a FUTURE payment and a past payment that has already been made. If they can't even manage the few hundred residents here now, how can they possibly manage Easton Park when they have several thousand? How can we possibly trust them to handle the community's accounts with the demonstration of utter incompetence. read more

Received a violation letter, fixed said violation(we were having some stone work done and the pallet of stone was on our driveway). Skip ahead a couple of months and I receive a letter stating I was being fined for unknown objects in driveway. The object was a small black box placed there while other things were gathered for a donation to our church. Both of my vehicles were in the drive and the box was directly in front of my Jeep. Now I can't speak to anyone about this because they do not answer phone calls nor do they return messages. No customer service what so ever ! read more

I had a extraordinarily wonderful experience yesterday with Ayana Sosa, Administrative Assistant in the Associa Mueller onsite office. I went in for help with account problems that were so tangled that I could not even articulate what they actually were. Ayana was kind, patient, and able to clearly explain to me what the my situation was. She then proceeded to take a series of actions that fixed all of them on-the spot. I have never had such a positive consumer service experience -- this is a terrific employee. read more

Is it ineptitude or indifference? That is my big question about Associa. I've had several years of frustrating encounters with this company going back to when they were Alliance and managing other communities where I either lived or had property. I was pleased when in one instance several years ago my HOA made the change away from Alliance to a new management company. Things improved dramatically from "awful" to "ok." The bar is set pretty low with association management companies; there haven't been a lot of decent management companies out there in my experience and there will also naturally be general unhappiness over the cop role they play and the power they wield. My gripes with Associa have nothing to do with enforcement of community rules (well, except for that time I was fined for an "obviously dead" tree in my yard that consumed weeks of arguing, which ten years later is still there and miraculously green as ever). Somehow Associa fails by a long shot to even measure up to the worst management companies out there. Here is what you can expect with any interactions with Associa: Next to nothing. You need to contact customer service? You will be automatically sent to voicemail. It doesn't matter when you call or how many times you call. Voicemail. Voicemail. Voicemail. If you leave a voicemail, you might be lucky to get someone calling you back after several days. You want to email Associa? Leave a message via the community webpage? You have about the same odds of receiving a response as you do having an extra-terrestrial encounter. Trying to make an online payment and your online account isn't working. Give up; it isn't worth the frustration. Have a billing question and trying to understand why you are being charged extra fees after making a payment. It's not worth the hypertension and a trip to the ER; just forget about it, pay whatever they demand and pretend you are living in North Korea. Suddenly it's a fun cultural experience. Seriously, they wear you down by ignoring you. And when they get you where they want you, they will use you as their own personal revenue stream. They mail letters long after the date on the letter. They have the ethics of a payday lender, the people skills of the DMV and the communication skills of... come to think of it, I can't think of any other entity that communicates this poorly. If you are looking for a new business idea you could always follow the Associa model; start a company, run for state office and author legislation that benefits your company. Then start a political action committee and use it to funnel money to other legislators. With any real estate purchases in my future, finding out who the property management company is will be a required part of the search process. Guess which company will be an automatic disqualifier? I will encourage others to do the same. It is clear Associa reads these reviews at least periodically. If you are from Associa and are reading this, don't just post a response saying "I'm sorry, blah, blah, blah. Send an email to customer service..." Instead answer your phone, read and respond to the emails so many of us have previously sent with actual answers to questions. read more

After that, I sent couple Emails and voice mails to ask updates. No on answered. No one cares! I wish I could give them ZERO star. It is very frustrated to deal with this company :( read more
