Raritan Valley Tree Service is the second company I've used to remove trees in my priority. They're…read moregoing to be the the last, because from now on, I am a repeat customer! Let's just say the first company I've used did an okay job but left a hot mess for me to clean up (with all due respect). So let's talk about Raritan. Warren Sr. and Jr. are great professionals and provided me with a fair quote when removing a large, 40-50ft. dead Willow and grinding the stumps. They also removed a 30-foot tall pine tree that was brushing up on my house with precision and care. They were very clean with the process and I must say, it was worth going with them. Mind you, a chunk of this dead tree broke off from a storm and fell into my neighbor's backyard. Raritan was kind enough to go into their property and clean that up as well Fast forward more than a year to today. About a week or two ago I reached out to them to get some advice on a young Willow we just planted a year ago (since they're arborists as well). Warren Jr. came to my priority in the pouring rain to assess the situation (I wasn't home) and called me immediately to give me sound advice on what to do with the tree to ensure it grows and thrives. Really appreciate the goodwill and extending himself to help. Highly recommended!

When I called them to ask them to throw down a little seed they ghosted me. No return calls, no pick-ups when I call. Not a reputable way to conduct business.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! VERY DISHONEST AND SLOPPY…read more This company was hired as a contractor from a solar company to remove some trees from my property. Not only did they cause damage to my property but to my neighbor's property as well; they accessed my neighbor's side lawn and driveway without their permission nor mine and scraped their driveway, ripped a large hole in my neighbor's table cover and caused a huge hole in the ground on my neighbor's side lawn. They offered no restitution to fix my damaged lawn that was caused by their trucks and other large vehicles; they did not even consider the idea of bringing large wooden boards to cover the lawn if any of their vehicles had to be parked on it or drive across it. The damage they caused to my neighbor's property took over 2 months to partially resolve, which ended up only covering the cost of replacing the table cover and nothing else. I am supremely disappointed in their lack of work ethic, poor communication, responsibility and morals. Their services were wildly expensive compared to other landscapers/tree removal companies and now I'm stuck paying for their work indirectly. Although they were able to remove the necessary trees, they caused long term damage to my lawn, damage to my neighbor's property AND left A LOT of debris across my lawn that I'm still cleaning up, 2 months later. They were also unwilling to work with the BBB to resolve these issues. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY!

We recently bought a condo in New Brunswick with a promising but neglected back deck & patio space…read more After hearing about good work he'd done in E. Brunswick, we connected with Joe. He had very smart ideas on how to best develop our space and he guided his team in expertly fulfilling our vision. Joe's Landscaping finished our project a few days ahead of the tough deadline we'd set for them, and Joe & the team were friendly throughout the process. Many thanks, Joe!

Joe promised, and Joe delivered…read more When my wife and I moved out of Brooklyn and bought our home in East Brunswick, we fell in love with all the landscaping the previous owners meticulously put in. Our property felt like a botanical garden, far exceeding the standard run-of-the-mill landscaping jobs you see in most neighborhoods. What I didn't realize at the time was how completely unprepared I was to maintain this level of landscaping. Even after renewing the previous owners' contract with Broehl's (the local gold standard for lawn care and maintenance) there was still too much to do. Unfortunately, I have a black thumb for this kind of thing, and there's only so many checks I can afford to write to try and keep things looking good. So for the past few years my wife and I have actually invested money in scaling *back* some of the landscaping; essentially ripping out and replacing some of the more complicated beds that have steadily been beat on over the last few brutal winters and didn't look good any more. When we met with Joe, we were clear that we wanted nice-looking beds, but nothing that would be over-the-top difficult to care for and maintain. And we wanted clear sight lines down our front yard so we could see our kids playing in the street. The overall amount of work we need to do to get our property where we really want it is pretty staggering, so Joe discussed a phased plan that would allow us to get started without breaking the bank. Long story short, he and his crew ripped out the mess of bushes and plants and undergrowth that marked the front and center portion of our lawn. He designed a simple, but elegant bed that he said would look great but wouldn't be impossible to maintain. He took photos of our property in advance, and then simulated his recommended design over the photos via computer, allowing us to "see" what it would look like before we'd have to commit. As you can see from the photos, Joe and his crew did a great job. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the work. We get a ton of compliments on the before and after. (Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the before, but trust me -- this was a huge leap forward.) Truth be told, you're really at a disadvantage if you cannot do at least some of your own landscaping. Professional landscaping is expensive -- plain and simple. And frankly, I hate paying for it. But as I said in my previous review, Joe is a no-nonsense, honest businessman. If, as the saying goes, a man is only as good as his word, Joe is a good man. He and his crew are completely professional and do great work at a very competitive price. Just look at the photos and see the work for yourself. And feel free to message me if you have any questions or want to learn more.
