I came in for a wisdom tooth extraction. Had a consultation at a different location. There was a scheduling mix up/ miscommunication between locations leading to me not actually having an appointment. Regardless the front desk attendant and oral surgeon were understanding of my situation and were able to get me in. The costs are pricey so if that's a deal breaker for you I'd suggest looking elsewhere. I will say they offer payment plans that help with the high costs. Regarding insurance; u may or may not have insurance coverage. They send claims to your insurance company but there is no guarantee that you will be covered by insurance depending on the company you are using and care you are looking to receive. Outside of the financial aspects the actual care I received was 10/10. The surgeon was extremely kind and made sure I was comfortable and other staff as well made sure I was completely comfortable and felt no pain during the process. I was under local anesthesia so I was awake while they removed 3 of my teeth. read more

False advertising and extremely questionable billing practices. In October 2025, Aspen Dental in Roscoe Village promoted a $29 comprehensive exam with X-rays for uninsured first-time patients. Their website clearly states that a comprehensive exam includes an oral cancer screening -- the main reason I scheduled the appointment for my uninsured son. When we checked in, I confirmed this, and the front desk assured me it was included. After the exam, I was pushed to authorize more than $5,000 in treatment. When I asked for an itemized breakdown, I was told, "Sorry, I can't get you that." They even tried to convince my son to apply for a loan on the spot by scanning a QR code. I stepped in and said we would go home and review our options. At checkout, I was suddenly told I owed $64 because the cancer screening was allegedly an extra $35. I reminded them of what their website said and that we had confirmed it at the front desk. The staff member argued with me until I pulled up the advertisement on my phone. Only then did she say, "We'll take care of it -- it will just be $29." I thought the issue was resolved, but a week later I received a bill for $39. I will not be paying it, and I will be addressing it directly with Aspen Dental until the account is corrected. I would not recommend Aspen Dental based on my experience. I was quoted one amount during my visit and paid that balance before leaving the office. Then two weeks later, I received an additional bill for more charges that were never clearly explained upfront. Now I'm stuck dealing with insurance to sort it out, which should not be the patient's responsibility when pricing should have been accurate from the start. On top of that, I consistently felt pressured to purchase additional services or products -- things like a mouthguard, extra preventative treatments, or being told I had multiple cavities that needed immediate attention. It felt like there was always something extra being added to the bill. The overall experience left me feeling like the focus was on upselling and collecting money rather than prioritizing patient care and transparency. ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS! I've been dealing with this dental office for over a year, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating. They overcharged me for procedures despite them being in-network and obligated to follow the contractual rates provided by my insurance company. When I raised the issue, they refused to make adjustments and said they can charge whatever they want and my insurance doesn't have a right to tell them what to charge. I reported them to my insurance about 1month ago and they submitted an investigation but checked again today and still no adjustments so I got on a three-way call with them and my insurance company, and whadda you know, i have credits on file! When asked why they weren't given to me yet they had no answer and said they would process the credit now. In other words they were hoping I didn't call back!!! To make matters worse, they didn't even perform the procedure correctly the first time and had to start over. Because of that, this entire process dragged on for a year, with long healing periods in between and I STILL don't have a crown. Aspen Dental in Skokie did a good job but they started sending me new bills after a year that the job was done! We had an agreement and they were paid in full! Anna with billing was the rudest person ever. This has been one of the worst dental experiences I've ever had. After a month of trying to get an appointment (for cleaning) I was finally seen--(for chipped filling) only to be shamed for not coming in sooner for my cleaning. The new doctor had no knowledge of my history, was rude, and completely dismissive of my concerns. Doctor must be new or inexperienced in patient communications. Refused to actually fix the problem and made me do X-rays and exam instead of fixing issue. Left with them doing nothing to help me. Rather than focusing on my actual dental health, they repeatedly tried to upsell me on Invisalign and mouth guard even though that wasn't why I came in. They really like to shame you and make you feel like you need to spend on more upsell services. Talk about a Judgement zone!!! It felt like a sales pitch from start to finish. To make matters worse, they were impossible to deal with when it came to insurance--completely disorganized and unhelpful. Lied and said they called me back before appointment. When I arrived they didn't tell me I couldn't get my tooth fixed. I spent more time trying to sort out insurance issues than actually getting care. Anna was insinuating I didn't have insurance. I assume she thinks it's part of her job to judge if people are worthy of services or not. I should have been told before wasting 3 hours that my tooth was not getting fixed. Now I have to take off work and go back and get it fixed. Total waste of my time today. Overall, incredibly inconsiderate, unprofessional, and clearly more focused on profits than patients. Anna was not helpful and argumentative. Spoke to the manager after I left and she apologized for the unprofessional behavior or Anna. Aspen advertised "same day" dentures.When I took my elderly husband in, they were kind. They looked at his dentures and when I asked for an estimate, they sent us to the "finance" person, who would "review options" with us. There were no options; dentures would take approximately one month, at a cost of $5,000, which they were happy to finance. Really encourage everyone NOT to use this chain, as they do not provide what they advertise, and seems to be taking advantage of people who might be desperate for dental care. Only go here if you like wasting money. I went here out of desperation because it was one of the only places with decent reviews that my insurance company at the time covered. I needed a root canal and asap because my tooth hurt. I saw the red flags right away but like I said, I was desperate and young. I was told that I needed a root canal, a crown, several fillings, and braces. Oh and a periodontal cleaning every 4 months. I looked at the treatment plan and got most of the work done except braces. At first they said braces would be cosmetic for me, but then when I said no, all of a sudden it turned into a medical need. During my initial exam the dentist made me feel embarrassed about the state of my mouth. I think their tactic is fear mongering and knowing that people are already down if they have to go to the dentist. I felt gross, but I just wanted to get it all over with. Anyways flash forward to not even 2 years later (work was done between Dec 2022-Feb 2023) and I have to get 2 fillings redone, potentially my root canal redone, and my crown shattered during my wedding reception!!! Of course, I went to a new dentist because I'd never let Aspen Dental touch me again. Oh and guess what, I don't need braces and also my gums are completely healthy. The new dentist never tried to upsell me anything. Do not go to to Aspen dental. They insisted I needed Invisalign to adjust my teeth in order to do a root canal. They made it seem urgent, which made me feel pressured to agree to services, and they quoted me over $10K for everything. I decided to get a second opinion at a family dentist, and when he looked at the X-rays that Aspen took, he told me my teeth were perfectly fine. Aspen dental felt more like car salespeople than doctors. Would not recommend. read more

I made an appointment here because I broke my crown and my regular dentist is on vacation. I was seen right away, and both dental hygienists were incredibly friendly and upfront about what was going to be done etc. I didn't really know what to expect with the appointment (would I get a temporary crown etc.) and when I did see the dentist, she was upfront about what could be done/can't be done (because of scheduling). They weren't offended when I told them I do plan to see my dentist next week, but was just looking for this moment in case anything went bad (infection, more damage to teeth etc). The dentist filed down the area of the crown that was left because it wasn't sharp, and they sent me home with an estimate of what it would cost if I did come back for the treatment; they also said they would email my primary dentist the X-rays. Technically, all I had done was X-rays and some filing, but overall it was a good experience. read more

If you're thinking it's going to be as easy as getting a checkup and a cleaning, it won't be. This is not a real dental practice. They get you in the door making it seem like everything is going to be normal, simple, and affordable, but really it's just a front for getting you to sign up for expensive "treatment plans" at the end of your visit. All the questions they ask you during your visit end up being line items on your "plan", and you have no idea until you're sat down with the office manager. At which point if you act confused why you're being set up for a thousand to thousands of dollars worth of procedures, you're treated like it was already all explained to you. Which it wasn't. In my opinion, they have a total a bait and switch approach to their new customers! I made an appointment this week via a local number listed for this branch and apparently got routed to a call center. I made an appointment for Monday and was told during that call that my cleaning, since I did not have insurance, would be $92 (normally $114) and that the exam and x-rays would be included. Today (SATURDAY) I get a call to "set my expectations" (their words) for my Monday visit. So NOW they say that for new patients without insurance (which I told the original booking agent that I did not have insurance) is the first visit is $19 for exam (and to be honest I can't remember if x-rays were included -- at that point I was getting so upset that they were changing my expectations that were set at the time of booking the appointment). Regardless, they could NOT / would NOT give me a cost for a cleaning and said that it would be determined at the time of the first visit and that I would have to come back for another time for the cleaning. This was NOT what I was told at the time of booking my appointment! Neither the agent that called me or the manager that I spoke to after that would commit to the price I was quoted at the time I booked the appoint. Needless to say I cancelled my appointment due the change in expectations that they were giving me. To me this is NOT a good business practice and I will not give any business to a company that changes the way they do business and charge their clients between the time of booking and before even get in the door. I feel this is a total bait and switch methodology ... assuming to get more business than the initial cleaning. read more

I'm only giving 2 stars for the front desk, assistants and some of the dentist. The manager and accounting department has not type of customer service skills and the billing is always incorrect. They tend to get you in the chair with an estimate, after an exam then bill you for "what they missed or the insurance don't cover". So, after you receive service, months later you get a bill. I use the Evergreen Park, IL office and the front and back office know me very well. But management and accounting has turned over several times. So, you get good personalities and bad. The beginning of 2023 I got caps and veneers. Throughout the year I had to go back several times to have my veneers placed back on, approximately 5 times and in November another one popped off again. Because it's been 6months, I'm required to schedule an exam which is going to cost me $180.00 for work that they did in January with the same issue that as been happening all year. I can't wear my guard because the are popping my veneers off. Now, throughout the year, I never had to schedule an exam to fix the problem but since my insurance won't cover it, they want me to pay for something that has been an issue all year. I mentioned that I just want them to fix the work I paid for and I'll go to another dentist. They never looked at my tooth any other time they fixed the issue but now it's a 6month corporate rule that I must pay for this exam to get my veneer place back on. After talking to the manage about a bill they claim I owe and I don't, and complaining about this issue, She very politely told me they won't do anything unless I pay them, also, that I have a nice day and hung up on me. This is happened on 12-19-2023 345pm Tuesday. So, good luck if you are attending this office. P.S. I thought is was just the location but I see now the Crestwood, IL and Orland Park, IL gave me the same issues. read more

My appointment was scheduled for 4:30pm. I was not brought back until 5:00pm. There were also other clients sitting in there that had been waiting longer than I have. I did not receive any apology or explanation for the delay in bringing me back 30 minutes late. It then took another 30 minutes to take my x-rays. The person who was doing my x-rays did not seem to know what he was doing. Not only were other staff members constantly checking on him, he had to re-do my x-rays multiple times. I woke up the next morning with cuts all over the roof of my mouth because of the multiple times he had to move the advice in my mouth. Never in my whole 43 years has it taken that long, nor have I left with damage to my mouth from having x-rays done. It has now been an hour, and I have still not actually seen a hygienist or dentist. I was brought to another room. This same employee then took some sort of ultrasound/x-ray of my mouth. Again, an uncomfortable experience as he was jamming the wand all over my teeth. Finally at 5:45, A hygenist comes in. Does his quick check of my gums, then tells me I need to come back for a cleaning. What Dental office does not do a cleaning at the new client exam appointment? This is seriously the most ridiculous thing I have ever encountered at a Dental office. It is quite obvious Aspen does this to make more appointments. I was pissed to say the least. Then, the Dentist finally comes in at 5:50. Remember my appointment was scheduled at 4:30. She was nice enough, but loved talking about my expensive Louis Vuitton handbag. She then recommended I do Invisalign as my teeth had shifted after my braces from years ago. Sure-I don't mind it being recommended-but the filling I need redone is due to it being in between my teeth....not because I need Invisalign. I saw her for all of 6 minutes before she brought me to see the business manager. It was insanely unprofessional to have a computer screen shoved in my face with thousands of dollars of "recommended" treatment for me. Plus....I didn't even get a cleaning done???? When I told her I wasn't interested in Invisalign, she told me my Dentist said it was needed, and that she had to check with her before taking it off my bill. She then asked me what was preventing me from doing it. Again-unprofessional to the max. If a client tells you no...that is that. I understand that the dentist was very hopeful that I would pay a lot of money based on my handbag-but that made me want to say no even more. She then told me the dentist wanted to see me that week for my cleaning (that should have been done already)as well as my filling repair. I told her I worked, and could only do evenings, and that my next available evenings were not until the next week. She still scheduled me for an afternoon slot which I would have had to leave work early for. As I knew I would be canceling it anyways-and because I really just wanted to get out of there, I took it. Plus-the two hour scheduled slot would have easily turned into 4 hours-which I truly just don't feel like spending at the dentist. Then I had to pay for them?? Who ever has to pay for a future appointment at the dentist? Again-ridiciulous. I was in such disbelief when I left Aspen, that it took me two days to look up reviews. It all made so much more sense. Time delays, bad experiences, Money,money,money. All this company does is try to make money. Nobody cares about the client and their experience. So now...I can't have a real dental exam without paying for it because my insurance paid for theirs. I can do the cleaning somewhere else, but guess what?? They require an exam at the same time. Interesting concept right? So I get to pay for that out of pocket now. Thank you Aspen for that. I never write reviews-however, I am angry enough to want to write this one publicly. I am terrified of going to a dentist or doctor for any reason. In December just in time for my birthday I got an infection which was painful and I could not ignore. I made an appointment for the same day online quick and easy. Everyone from the techs to the office workers and the dentist were kind and considerate. I ended up having everything done that I had put off for way too long. i was consulted every step of the way and without insurance they helped me get financing so that I did not have to wait. They get their money upfront by signing you over to a credit card company. They will make great efforts not to submit your dental insurance correctly inorder to sustain maximum profit. Aspen Dental is the Best Dental Service I have ever had. Let me explain. First off, since childhood with a horrible dentist who filed all my teeth down, before pulling the wisdom teeth, I ended up with periodontal disease. My gums bled since high school. I am in my mid to late 50's now. It got so bad, I couldnt take a breath of air without my front teeth getting that nerve pain, example, taking a ice cold drink of water, or hot coffee. I knew I had periodontal disease, so I asked about their full mouth dental implants. Compare to others, these folks were reasonable and in my opinion gave me the best option. PLUS 20% off the treatment plan. I couldnt resist, not that I am cheap mind you. So I paid half up front, and the rest upon the start of the plan. DR MITHILA SHARMA, if you ask me, is a miracle worker. Pulled all teeth in a day, only felt woosie on the last tooth, It was totally infected. That went well, the she drilled and installed the base implants and bone marrow on 7 of the 8 implants. We had to do a bone implant because of too much bone loss on my left top side. I still have little feeling on that side due to all the absess infection for many years. Since that time, I got my temporary removable dentures, took me a while to get used to them, now we have installed the fittings on 7 out of 8 implants. Took the casting for the new dentures just the other day. I cant complain about anyone from this facility, Jesus Echezarreta, DDS, did fine work, until one day, I think because of my diabetese, I got woosie while putting in the posts. Roxanna Delgado Rodriguez, DMD, has been working on me for a couple of visits, with her, absolutely no pain, as with Mathila Sharma. Jesus, tried but I think the novacaine got the best of me on that visit. Anyway, Sue or Susanna is a wonderful technician as is all the others who work in the dental area in back. The Ladies working in the front too have always been nice as well. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to get in with a appointment. ALL IN ALL after a lifetime of dental horror, I finally got to Aspen Dental, and I highly recommend them to anyone, who is a woosie on pain, like me.
