I was billed an additional $2000 after I already paid what I was quoted. My insurance company sent me a letter saying that Aspen needed to send copies of X-ray reports. I went to the office and my concerns were dismissed-"it takes about a month." 2 months later I received another bill (I was told not to pay it) and when I called the billing office they told me that they were still waiting. How long does it take to fax a report?! And I understand that there could be additional charges but $2000?? I feel like I'm getting the runaround and nothing is going to be resolved. I would recommend this specific practice to anyone!!! They are absolutely amazing and did such a great job on my implant! I'm so very thankful to everyone there for the care and compassion they had with me while also receiving five star work on my teeth!! Any negative reviews on this specific location is a load of crap. Shady. I recently moved and had to find a new dentist so I went to Aspen. They lure you in with easy appointment scheduling and overly friendly salesman staff. I wasted my insurance-covered check up only to get x rays and be quoted almost $2,000 for a deep cleaning that I had to schedule later. I saw a dentist regularly in NYC and went to a specialist for another issue yet somehow none of them saw this horrible infection I apparently had to fix immediately. The office is dirty and they put you in an open room with zero privacy. I can't imagine this would be a good place for anyone remotely anxious about dental care since you can see and hear everyone else getting treatment. Now I'm trying to get my x rays sent to a new practice and no one is helping me even after I completed all the forms they asked for. Absolutely avoid. read more

$3800 for 5 fillings that should cost $1500 with good quality. Terrible workmanship, liar and thief office manager, and 3 loan officers employed with desks in the waiting area. Disgusting. I went to the Blasdell Aspen Dental in October because I had broken a tooth. Once I got there, I proceeded to wait almost TWO hours in the waithing room, and never once did the office staff let me know they were running behind or there was an issue. (This was at 4 in the afternoon, so it was not a surprise to them.) I finally got in for an X-Ray, and then was in the exam room another 45 minutes waiting. When I finally saw a doctor, he took about 60 seconds to tell me to yank the tooth, which would require me to get an entirely new set of very expensive dentures. Once apprised to that, we decided to root canal/crown the tooth. The techs and Todd in billing were excellent, apologizing for the wait and helpful when I was trying to figure out the best way to use my insurance, but this was by 1000 the worst visit I have ever had to a dentist office. When I replied as such to their email about a review, I got a standard "we're sorry" response, but nothing else. read more

Went in for 1 crown in July 23', between then and November 23' I was there 9 additional times and still no crown. The scans for the permanent crown were not viable at first, and then the 'permanent' crowns they did try to make did not fit at all. They made me pay for the full service back in August 23'... ended up asking for a refund to go elsewhere and I'm still fighting them to get a refund, currently April 24'. Customer service phone number might be more useless then the dentist that work here. Dr. Carlson also did not have any empathy when I was in a lot of pain too and ended our appointment early because I was physically shaking and couldn't stop crying in pain. Went to another dentist with just one look at my tooth he sent me to get a emergency root canal, also did the crown in 1 day! Where is my refund????? *Thanks for asking me to reach out to customer service, but I've called practically every other week. Horrible place. They are un organized and unprofessional. Sadly we kept giving them chances. I wish we had stopped at the first sign of an issue. This all began a few months ago when my husband made appointments for us all to get our check up. We have a family of five and they refused to allow us all to come in on the same day, even though we live 25 minutes away and it's very inconvenient to come in multiple times. Anyway, they split us up into two days. When it was time for me to go in with two of my kids, they told us, AFTER we had driven there, that they were over booked and we had to reschedule. This was the first red flag. Because we made the appointment a MONTH in advance. The next big issue was when I came back in for a few fillings and they put the Novocain in the wrong place. way down in my jaw, TWO shots, and then did a tooth mid-way between the jaw and front teeth. I felt it all. I'm a grown woman who has had 3 kids so I dug my fingers into my thigh and just bore it. I was NOT about to allow more shots into my body that wouldn't help. THEN after he was done, I was feeling out of it. My head was spinning and I felt sick. I didn't notice that my tooth wasn't level in my mouth. That became apparent later. Like a lump in my tooth. It was the only point that was touching on that side of my mouth. I was grinding my teeth in my sleep from it. I had to go back and allow (the lead dentist apparently) fix his mistake. He did. He was nice about it, but he KNEW it was 100% his fault. Today, my son who is 18 went in. I was with him but waiting in the car since I wasn't about to sit in the waiting room with a mask on for 30 minutes! That's stupid. But my son came out after being in the office for only about 15 minutes. I knew something was wrong the moment I looked at him. The dentist, same guy, his hands were shaking SO badly that the needle bumped into my sons teeth! My son pulled away and the dentist had the nerve to tell my son that he was making HIM nervous! Hello! WHAT? the dentist is supposed to be professional! My son asked him if he needed a minute, and the guy then told my son, "Once I'm in there I'll stabilize." Um.. no. That is not ok at all. Which thankfully my son told him, thank god I raised him to stand up for himself! So the dentist asked him if he wanted to do this or not, and my son said NOT. We left, and we are now looking for a new dentist. DON'T trust these people! They'll hurt you! read more

The staff is wonderful, Dr. C, not so much. He is very sarcastic if you aren't happy with a partial not fitting right. I had been back 3 times and was told if I ,wasn't happy, I could get a refund. All I wanted was it to stop cutting the inside of my mouth. Very unprofessional when he told me he had a degree, (I had not questioned that all) and he knew better than me what was right. Dr. Yumang used to be there as the director and he would not have put up with this attitude problem. Dr. C did not bring the partial to me after having it adjusted, he had the nice young girl bring it. Luckily, it is not cutting me anymore.. Well, I will not be going back unless for cleanings, maybe. I didn't spell out his name because he may have been having a bad day. read more

I hate leaving 1 star reviews more than anything and I have been debating whether I should leave one or not, but going to this location was one of the worst decisions I have ever made and it has negatively impacted my life. If being extremely nice and inviting people was the only thing that constituted a good dentist office then Aspen Blasdell would be an excellent place to go. Everyone there was super nice and personable. Unfortunately the work I got was overpriced and I left in worse shape than I went there in. I had moved so I needed a new dentist and they found a few teeth in need of a filling. I had no pain in any of these teeth so I know the cavities were not that bad, especially because I take my dental hygiene very seriously, but I agreed to get the fillings. Every single filling that I got at Aspen Dental was a complete disaster. They still hurt to this day and I had to completely alter the way that I chew food as I save up money to go to a new dentist that can hopefully repair the damage that Aspen did to my teeth. Not only does every single filling hurt (my old dentist never put in a filling that hurt) but the molar on the roof of my mouth on the right side furthest back was cracked in half because the dentist drilled too much of my tooth off. I didn't notice until after I left and felt around my mouth with my tongue only to be horrified that literally half of my tooth was missing. To make matters worse that filling came out later that day and when I called to ask about it I was told that the dentist knew which tooth I was talking about because he figured it would have fallen out since he didn't put a band in there. Not even sure what a band is, but if it's something that needed to be put in, he shouldn't have taken the easy way out and neglected his job. At the end of the day, going to Aspen made three of my teeth hurt really bad all the time and it straight up ruined one of my teeth. I am definitely never going back and I could not in good conscious recommend them to anyone. read more

I can't say enough good things about Aspen Dental at McKinley in Hamburg. With a broken front tooth and the help of the wonderful Joleen Palmowski I got in very quickly, by next day I had three fillings and a new tooth - totally pain free. I mean totally! I made an account just to give this review. I went there two years ago for a routine cleaning/exam and was advised that I had five cavities and needed fillings in all of them. I had never had a cavity in my life: a bit skeptical, I asked them to show them to me, and they dodged the question. I avoided the dentist for two years. I went to a different dentist (WNY Dental Group), and was told I have no cavities whatsoever. All to say, I have no trust in this business and will never return there. read more

Dr. Yumang and the staff at the Hamburg location are great! I had to get some fillings done and Dr. Yumang was so gentle that I didn't even feel anything!!! I have been going to this dentist for a few years now, and have generally been satisfied with the staff and job performance. Recently however, there have been a couple of issues. First of all, although my insurance covered my entire dental bill, the person in charge of submitting the bill failed to do so and i got a bill in the mail. When i called, this person told me to call her back in 3 weeks to remind her to re-submit the bill to my insurance. First off....not my job. Well, a few weeks later i received a final collection notice and had to call again. This same worker told me, oh, ok i will submit the bill, and it will be off of your account tomorrow. I feel this shouldn't be something i should need to worry about. Secondly, There is a new Indian doctor who replaced Dr. Yumang. While the general staff was very pleasant and accommodating, the new dentist was testy and rude. She seemed to act like she was doing me a favor and spoke to me like i was a child. And i almost forgot the most annoying part of going to this dentist. Its their obsession with trying to force you to undergo unnecessary treatments. Every time you try to make any appointment, they are obsessantly trying to talk you into scheduling unnecessary money making procedures. Try to say no, and you are pressured even harder. Used car salesmen have nothing on these guys. Because of these reasons, i will never go to this dentist again. read more
