Then after the procedure my claim for payment was denied by insurance. I called the office and they told me that my insurance was not a participating group! Really? Why did they mislead me in the beginning that it would be covered and now tell me something different. It's not fun having a $1,480 bill that you did not expect! I take notes on conversations and have all this in writing. Very unprofessional the way they handled securing my business and then taking responsibly or helping in anyway about the bill. And for the actual procedure, the dentist had two pieces of his tool fall into the canal of the tooth and joked with the assistance about this never happened before and they hope to be able to get them out, all while I am speechless due to a rubber shield across my mouth. He did not explain what happened or reassure me that it would be ok. The end result was a three step/appointment procedure and I believe all turned out ok.

Actually, it was even before they got the motorcycles; probably since they first had teeth buds. We've always had a positive experience. The staff is super nice, very knowledgable and Dr. Trautman has a very calm manner of interacting with the kids. The folks that do the teeth cleaning are awesome and somehow have managed to make it an event for the girls to head over. They explain everything to them, and have never been the least bit pushy. I remember the first day my older daughter was there, sitting in the chair with huge sunglasses on, almost seeming to enjoy what was happening ... she left wanting to be a dentist. Now she wants to be a cat-unicorn though, so take that for what it's worth. The facility itself is clean and bright, with a big fish tank and a train that runs along the ceiling. It has an open floor plan so you can really see what goes on in the place and it's pretty interesting. The building itself is centrally located right off North Buffalo road, in the heart of Orchard park. I'm writing this review because after we left there today, my daughter was smiling like crazy and happy because she felt really proud of herself for having a great checkup and I believe that Dr. Trautman and his staff had a big part of that moment of goodness. So anyway, If you're looking for a great pediatric dentist, I would highly recommend Dr. Trautman and his staff. Thanks for reading all that jabber. Now go have some pizza. You earned it.

Dr Trautman has been honing his skills for 25 years, he is also an instructor at UB. He knows his…read morestuff, and his patients. He is the only dentist you'll see in his office, he is personable and funny. You won't come in wondering who you are going to see, he knows all of his patients and treats each one with much respect and care. As much a your child's pediatrician, a dentist plays a big role in a child's life. I highly recommend Dr Mark.
