Without a doubt the best place to be if you need a tooth pulled! The dentist was so professional and compassionate! I have lupus and fibromyalgia and he made sure I was comfortable and felt absolutely no pain before and after the procedure! In face it happened so quick I didn't even know he pulled my teeth! Review is On behalf of my daughter who had 2 extractions yesterday. She had been struggling for the last 3 years in Chautauqua county to get a couple teeth pulled and get partials. After every few and far between appointments she did manage to get here, she left in tears and pain and frustration. Yesterday when she left buffalo Oral Surgery, she also left in tears. Tears of Happiness, no pain, and sincere gratitude!! All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. The surgeon and his assistant were efficient, gentle and did their level best to make her comfortable. She said she didn't feel a thing despite arriving with a lingering migraine stiff neck and shoulders and over all already not feeling the best and hour drive to get there. ( Well worth the drive! ) She drove home with a brand new feeling of hope that her teeth were finally going to be taken care of and she could eat properly again in the very near future. She was seriously amazed at how good she felt when she left and even after the novacaine wore off! This place is awesome! On 8/22/19 I had an appointment for some extractions. From the time I arrived the customer service was great. The dentist & his assistant were very respectful, polite, funny and gentle with me. They made me feel extremely comfortable enough to trust them to perform oral surgery on me. My name is Matthew Dixon, I am writing this review regarding my full mouth extraction. I drove up from Atlanta, GA (School) Tuesday morning January 8, 2019, for a full mouth extraction surgery with Dr. Schulenberg at Buffalo Oral Surgery scheduled for today January 9, 2019. My blood pressure was high due to my anxiety about the surgery. Dr. Schulenberg refused to write me a script for Diazepam 5mg Tablets. He also refused to do the surgery due to the spike of my blood pressure from the anxiety. His front office team stated that I would need to get a script from my PCP for the Diazepam 5mg Tablets and then come back to complete the surgery. The next available appointment he had was February 28, 2019, I pleaded with Dr. Schulenberg to fit me into a sooner slot, however he and his office manager were unaccommodating, did not care that I am a U.S Marine, nor that I am a Law Enforcement Officer and that I drove 14hours for this surgery. I never complain about another medical professional because I understand the job, the Marine Corp has thought me to hurry up and wait when it comes to matters such as this. However this is a matter that just isn't sitting well with me. I am depressed about the condition of my teeth, I have stopped seeing friends & family, and have become an introvert because I am horrified for people to see my mouth. My social life has halted due to this major concern. I am deeply hurt, and saddened that Dr. Schulenbreg treated me and, how he spoke to me. I do not recommend this dentist. Showed up on time for an appointment to have wisdom teeth removed and they kept us waiting for over an hour then got snobby when I asked what was going on refused to put deposit for appointment back on my credit card. Over all a scary situation due to the fact the dental work was happening inside what appeared to be a residential home. This place deserves far more than five stars for their compassion, efficiency and willingness to listen. I was the patient albeit reluctantly. I had an ongoing issue with a molar. I thought a filling would do however that was not to be the case. I have an EXTREMELY high tolerance to novocaine. After four attempts at numbing my lower gums my normal dentist conceded defeat. She suggested that I try Buffalo Oral Surgery and hopefully get sedated for an extraction. It was with heavy heart that I made my appointment. Today was the day. I had a female surgeon/dentist. In my angst over this procedure I didn't get her name. She sat and spoke to me about the anesthetic issue and then started shooting me up. It took her about four tries as well. She had me open my mouth and I assumed she was just checking to see if the local was working. She spoke to me about a number of things and then sat back and said the words I so longed to hear - "You are finished. The tooth is gone". YES! Other than my anxiety there was nothing to bother me. The actual extraction was perhaps a minute or two? It took longer for the local to kick in. Am I over my fear of sharp objects in my mouth? Not in this lifetime however I know now that procedures don't need to be painful to be effective. read more

This dental practice is THE BEST!!! Dr Amy Bryan is WONDERFUL. She pulled 4 wisdom teeth from my 18 year old daughters' mouth with no anesthesia (because my daughter didn't want it) and my daughter had ABSOLUTELY no issues at all. I was prepared for days of her being super uncomfortable and tears and there was NOT one single tear and we left the next day to go away for the weekend because her younger sister's swim competition was out of town. The parents from our team could not believe how my daughter was feeling. I had wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Amy Bryan and have 3 major complaints. Dr Schulenberg who used to work out of that office was great, but he has since retired. 1) I requested it be done via IV sedation. During the procedure I recall being conscious enough at points to remember being in pain and saying so while she was extracting my teeth. 2) 3 days after the procedure I continued to be in extreme pain and came in on a Friday to have them see if anything was wrong so I didn't end up suffering over the weekend. She took a very quick glance at it and said everything looked ok and it was part of healing process. It turned out to be dry socket that should have been addressed when I came in on Friday complaining of pain. I should not have had to suffer needlessly. It was eventually treated when I came back in that Monday. 3) I continued to suffer over the weekend and called Sunday because I no longer had any pain medication. Dr. Bryan told me to take Tylenol for the pain and seemed to dismiss my belief that this may be dry socket. She said the foul order and taste in my mouth was probably trapped food. read more

We got really lucky to have found this place when my daughter, who attends college in Buffalo, needed her wisdom teeth pulled. My cousin, who also lives Buffalo, was able to ask his dentist for a recommendation, which then led us to this terrific place. Since I live in Long Island, a lot of information had to be exchanged over the phone. Bill was the person I spoke to, and he was incredibly patient and thorough. My daughter filled out some forms on line, and they also talked to her about how to reduce the pain and swelling until her scheduled appointment. Yesterday, I flew out here, to be with my daughter during her surgery and recovery. Although they were running late, and we had to wait in the very comfortable waiting room for about an hour, once the doctor called her in, everything went surprisingly fast. From the office staff, to the dental assistants, to the surgeon, Dr. Amy Bryan, everyone was professional, kind, caring, and believe it or not, even funny. They made my daughter feel relaxed and comfortable. The best part is that today my daughter is recovering very quickly from the effects of having 4 teeth pulled. Excellent dental/medical services! This partially disabled, deaf patient in his 50s recently had some much-needed dental work done at Buffalo Oral Surgery, including multiple extractions. Beforehand, I was very anxious and apprehensive about the procedure. Dr. Rifkind and his assistant, Andy, were attentive and considerate, and very effectively managed to communicate with me to put me at ease, and to let me know exactly what they were going to do and what to expect. you have to pay a 30 dollar depsoit to make sure you are on time and keep your appointment . the problem i had was i had to sit in waiting room one hour and twenty minutes. if i had been that late for my appointment it would have cost me 30 dollars. just so unfair it only works to their advantage. i did get good care once i got in . that dont change their policy. i just think it takes a lot of nerve to make someone pay for being late but you can let them wait a very long time with no penalty . read more

Unfortunately I cannot say the same. The customer service I received was horrible. I don't know if you have ever experienced an exposed nerve but I was in horrible pain and the customer service I received from this place was even more upsetting. Besides the fact they WON'T set up your appointment without a $20 deposit, the secretary I was dealing with was very rude. Even after I expressed my concerns he refused to get someone else to help me and made it seem like the deposit was my problem. NOT the fact I had been trying to make an appointment for over a week and a half and had finally got things straight with my insurance and he's telling me the soonest appointment was almost 3 weeks away. Mind you I have a cracked tooth with a exposed nerve and sent in my patient paperwork over 2 weeks ago. I own a business in which I pay my employees $10/hr and I have over 10 employees. I was forced by my insurance to go to Buffalo Oral Surgery. Needless to say I was very nervous not having the ability to research and compare practices. My consult was great, everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable about the insurance, and made me feel at ease. Then came the dreaded Wisdom Teeth extraction. I am 31, so a little old for this and thus at higher risks for issues to go wrong. The sedation IV was put in and I never even felt the prick of the needle.
