My wife and I were thrilled when we saw that Aslan was opening up in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, this place has horrible service. The bartenders both ignored us for 10 minutes. When I went over and said "Hello, do you serve any food" I got an eye roll and a plate full of attitude about how it should be obvious that they don't. I hope that they get rid of the basic betty running the bar and get some people similar to the great staff they have up north, and maybe we'll be back ... even if they can't make their wonderful poutine fries. read more

I had been waiting for Aslan to reopen since they don't have outdoor seating and finally got a chance to give it a try. They have a great selection of beers on tap as well as local cider and hard kombucha options. I tried one of their IPA's and a Yonder cider - both were wonderful! The interior of Aslan is very cool, lots of funky artwork. I went in on a Friday evening and it wasn't too busy, but I've walked by other times and there's a line of people waiting to be seated. I came to Aslan for my birthday and tried a few different ciders. They have a pretty good variety of beers on tap and a good selection of local ciders. They have a very chill atmosphere with fun murals painted on the walls. The server was friendly and very knowledgeable. read more

We came during the soft opening and was pleasantly surprised by the turnout. It is at a great location, easy to access from the street and they have plenty of seating available. I am such a sucker for craft brews and was very impressed by the dark ale. From what I understand, this is another location, which means it IS a solid place that people frequently go to. The servers were friendly, which is encouraging due to the fact that it was the soft opening and they did not show the stress they probably felt. I got the Bellingham brown ale and it matched the rainy, gloomy weather outside in Fremont. They had selections ranging from sours to IPAs. Another thing I appreciate is that it is apparently dog friendly and met many pups while having a couple brews. Did not really explore/try out any food options because I was just a few doors down doing so. If I am ever in Fremont again, there is a high likelihood I am coming back to try out the rest of the items on tap. read more

I had the best experience ever at Aslan! We went towards the end of the night to wrap up my birthday celebration, and I wish we would have gone there earlier so we could spend more time there. The beertender, Brian, took awesome care of us out of towners. He knew that he was talking about when it came to the beers and giving recommendations, but also telling us about the area and the best spots to go. We are fans for life and will definitely send our friends there who live locally, and will be back whenever we come to town! read more

Review in the Time of Covid: I went here for takeout only. At the time, it didn't look like anyone was sitting inside and drinking. It's a smaller space, but I look forward to visiting after Covid. Lots of refrigerators with cans and a few bottles to go, easy to grab and pay, but a narrow walkway and single door, so people need to be mindful to keep space. I was excited to try Aslan's beers after only trying a few at bars in the past. I loved the informative chat with the person working, and managed to pick up a couple of their saisons, as well as a 6 of their rauchbier. I love German styles, so I was excited to see they had a few to choose from. They do allow you to purchase by the can, but I decided to just go all in on a six pack and I was not sad. This place is brand spanking new and overall this place is definitely worth a try. There is a major brewery from Bellingham behind this place that I believe has been around since 2012. It just opened literally a week ago, so I'm sure there is going to be a period of time where this place dials it in. Perhaps they will even add more taps. The beer selection is a little bit of everything, from IPA to Saisons to Sours. It's not a place that specializes in one particular area like lagers only. I'd recommend this place if you want a dog friendly area and some easy drinking beers. I'll keep coming back though to get a sense of what this place will be like when dialed in. Again I'd be hesitant about any negative reviews about this place until a few months in, since there is a ramp up time. My only hope is that this place takes some risks given all the capital behind it. read more

Finally, Aslan where I don't have to drive up to 2 hours to get to. Aslan Brewing is one of my favorite breweries, the Bellingham location a frequent stop for me on the way to/from Canada. I was so excited to see a taproom open up in Seattle! As other reviews mention, the taproom is very small compared to Bellingham. Combine that with the top notch beer that is Aslan makes for a pretty crowded spot on the weekend afternoons. Note that they also have more limited food options. But! Prime location in the heart of Fremont, with great beer--bring some great company and you're guaranteed to have an awesome time. read more

They have gluten free options but are NOT celiac friendly. I asked if they had an extra frier for fries, or cross contamination, etc. The guy told me that I would be fine with my burger and GF bun. I did end up getting sick from who knows what, but they were clearly not careful with the cross contamination. read more

I had a horrible service experience. I came here on a Friday with a friend, ordered food from Local Tide and then went over to Aslan to order a beer. The server asked for my ID, and after looking at it, claimed I didn't "look like my picture" and refused to serve me. She asked for another form of ID, so I gave her my credit card with my name on it, and she still refused to serve me. She asked another co-worker to look at my ID and she claimed I didn't "look like my picture" either and asked me to leave, so I did. I'm 23 and look young, but nonetheless I felt disrespected and embarrassed. I came back the next day with my passport, hoping to at least have a manager acknowledge that I am the individual in my ID picture and that they were wrong to deny me service. The workers and manager again refused to acknowledge that they were wrong, and told me to get out. I had been here before and never had a problem, but this was pretty outrageous. I won't be going back and would not recommend going here (The food at Local Tide was stellar though, had the cod and a beer). read more

WORTH READING. We came to visit our hometown friends this weekend and were looking for a place to enjoy a drink and meal before the airport. We called in advance to ask if they could seat us at two tables as we are well aware of Covid rules. Instead of kindly informing that they do not allow split tables as a result of their rules, she responded "oh no, we don't play that game".
