We always get hibachi so I can't speak on anything else (except the spring rolls--also great), but the food is always delicious & big servings! The guys that do the hibachi are always great too. Great Asian food! Loved every bite and it was piping hot. Restaurant is kind of a hole in the wall on the outside. Nice and clean inside with table seating or hibachi grill seating. Quick service and we ate every bite. Beef with Broccoli: Meat was tender and the broccoli had the perfect texture. The crowns were soft and the stalks crisp, giving a nice bite! Hunan Chicken and Shrimp: Chicken was tender, shrimp were small but not overdone. The sauce was savory with the tiniest kick due to red pepper flake. If we lived in the area it would be our go-to take out or dine in for sure. read more

Decent food. BUT beware of that CoVid trick..... they are charging a "service charge" when you place a pickup order. Restaurants started that to help out staff during Covid. Some restaurants have just kept it which is not right. I added a three dollar tip for a small to go order. When I arrived to pick it up, the receipt did not show that I had already paid for a tip but the tip WAS included in the total price I paid, but ON TOP of that, they had added a three dollar extra "service charge" on there that was not on my online receipt which I took a a screen shot of. ( example: say my food total with tax and everything was 14.00 and I added 3.00 for a tip and my total paid was 17.00). So they took the three dollars that I had already paid and put it as a "service charge". If I had put four dollars as a tip then the service charge would have shown four dollars. They are doing this to get more $ without the customer realizing. The wait staff DO NOT get the original three dollars. I will not do business here again because they are shady and most people don't even realize what the restaurant is doing. So, that 3.00 I left will go to nobody but the owner but I wasn't going to leave another 3.00. JUST FYI - You are not required to pay ANY service fees at restaurants. Google it. I've been reading a lot up on this. If a restaurant, tries to charge you a service charge have them take it off the bill. Then leave your waitress a tip. read more

Not much for the eye - set back in a strip mall. But the food is solidly good. Our go to stop when we go through Palestine. Asian fusion in East Texas is rare. Chinese, Japanese, hibachi. The stir fries are good. Hunan Beef is my go to here. read more

This is actually the worst asian food I have ever had in any city, state or country. I am shocked at how bad it is. I tried desperately to like this place but I have to be honest. We tried the soup first, which was not hot in the slightest. In addition to it being room temperature water it had no taste other than a hint of salt. In addition, I accidentally left some cash here and was so put off by the whole experience that I didn't even want to go back to get it. You cannot beat this food for the price! I've picked up food to go from here several times and have not dined in or tried the hibachi. But the food is tasty and they give you generous portions. Best Asian food in town. It's a little run down but the food is always fresh and delicious. I've had spring rolls, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, lo mein, crab rangoons and more. We always do take out. I haven't tried the hibachi and not interested in the soups so can't comment on those. The portions are quite large too! read more

My friends and I eat at Asian City about once a week for lunch. We have a favorite waitress who recognizes us instantly and seats us in our favorite place, knows what we want to drink, etc. In short, she's a really wonderful, hardworking lady. Incidentally, the food was really good when the restaurant opened. I really liked this restaurant until just recently. The food started to decline and sort of settled to mediocre. (Some of the ingredients were changed/cut.) That was fine. The service was still good, the food was still tolerable, and we continued to eat there about weekly. Fast-forward to today: occasionally, I get the special called the Garlic Chicken. Sometimes I get it with the chicken, sometimes, I have them substitute Tofu (bean curd). There has never been an issue with the price since I am subbing a comparable product. After all the time and money I have spent at this restaurant (through the deterioration of the food, from menu items that are listed in the menu but never included in your meal) today, of all days, the manager tells my waitress to charge me extra for substituting tofu for chicken. Let it be known that nowhere on the menu does it say that substitutions cost extra. He does not inform me that I am going to have to pay extra, he simply has her toss it in on the check. I am pretty upset at this juncture and am talking about it to my friend. We are seated near the kitchen. The waitress comes back to pick up our money. She (apologetically) explains the extra charge when I ask. I explain to her that I don't really understand what the charge is for, since its a pretty fair exchange. May I note here that the tofu was awful today (not crisp at all, just squashy and undercooked), so I ended up eating all of two pieces before writing it off as total loss. I express this to the waitress as well. She tells me that the manager has heard everything I said and if I want it crispier next time, he can cook it that way. (He will never get to rectify this mistake) What irks me most, is that this guy heard me and knew I was upset. His quick fix was to send my waitress to tell me that he could cook to order, next time if I ordered it that way. Since this is the way he values his patrons, I will not eat here again. I can't imagine throwing away a customer for a couple of dollars. I will also tell my story to anyone who stands still long enough. read more
