We are visiting Palestine this week and this is one of the places recommended to me.We were initially put off by the greeting we received from one of the bartenders; she didn't particularly seem to want us there. However, after we stepped away to review the menu and came back to order, we spoke with a different bartender who was fabulous. We sat outside on the patio and waited for our food. The fried pickles were good, but not the best we've ever had; the breading was a little thick. However... I ordered a bison burger and it was amazing! Juicy, great texture, really good. First time visit. Wanted somewhere that was pet friendly and they have a really nice large covered patio. Our little fur baby enjoyed the visit sitting in her stroller on the patio. I had the Patty Melt which was very tasty. The fries were amazing and the cole slaw so very tasty. My wife had a regular burger which was ordered WELL DONE. Unfortunately it didn't get cooked as requested and as a result she wasn't able to finish her meal. Had a few good draft beers as well. Gave only 4 stars for two reasons: (1) Burger not cooked as requestd; and (2) When I went to close out my tab the young lady behind the bar never asked if we liked our meals. Arrived at 3 pm with a group of 7 adults and 5 kids on a Monday. Friendly staff and fairly fast service. We ordered a few beers, chili, kids chicken tender baskets, Philly cheesesteak and Cuban sandwich. Food wise everything was good. Service is very laid back. You order at the bar and take a seat. We stopped in on our way to Arkansas. The staff was friendly and acknowledged us as soon as we walked in. The restaurant was smaller than we expected from photos on Yelp. There was plenty of patio seating, though. Our group of 4 ordered the grilled cheese, chicken tenders, Cuban sandwich and Reuben sandwich. Food came out very quickly. Everything looked really good! The grilled cheese sandwich was very sweet tasting and the cheese was not very melty. The tomato basil soup that came with it was good. My son said the Cuban was somewhat bland and the corned beef on the Reuben was cut in thick slices rather than our preferred method of shaved corned beef. The chicken tenders were very good, the best of the four entrees, but the cream gravy had an unusual spice/flavor. All in all, just a very average lunch. read more

The Good: I'm from out of town and stopped here for dinner. The bar keep was friendly and knowledgeable about his beers and recommended a local favorite based on my tastes. It was spot on. The buffalo chicken sandwich was excellent as well. Service was clean and efficient. The Not-so-good: Someone dropped a glass and it shattered. An employee yelled out "$#!+" in front of a family with kids. Not cool. While my sandwich was very good, I did order it without raw onions but it came with raw onions. Finally while the staff was friendly, I felt alone when my food was delivered and the server just set it down and left. Nobody asked if my food was good or checked on me, and I was left to my own defenses looking for utensils, condiments and napkins. Found this little gem after taking a scenic railway ride. This little draft house is AMAZING. Ok ok ok- I hear ya, how can a draft house be that good. Well.... it's the Owner that makes the difference. I'm not generally a beer drinker. But my friend is and I'm willing to try new things so that's how we landed here. We sat at the bar and Chris patiently listened to me explain I don't like beer- so, what does he do? He suggests I tell him what I do like and then let him suggest a few to taste. That was a cool idea. And he was really amazing at explaining the different beers and their flavors and scents and well... he truly made the night just a lot of fun. So, do I now like beer- uhm, no. This is my favorite place to eat in Palestine. Never disappoints! Problem is I always order the same few things. Our last stop there the wife and I shared the jalapeño spinach artichoke dip and a 'Cuban' sandwich. Both were excellent as always, and I had an IPA and the wife had tea. I can recommend personally the Cuban, Reuben, smoked wings and the fish and chips. This is always our go to place with friends or family that come to town and want a great meal and a wide selection of brew on tap. It's well run and the service is good too. This is a laid back brew pub so don't expect anything to be fancy, but the experience is stellar. There aren't many places I would recommend in Palestine, but this place never disappoints! read more

I was in the area visiting a friend, and this was the place he chose for lunch. A great selection! As soon as I walked in, the staff made me feel welcomed. Since I had never eaten here, they gave me the lowdown on how to order and pay. Don't drink alcohol; however, they do have many beers on tap. (Local micro-brews to boot!) This place used to be really delicious however tonight it just did not deliver. Our food was very mediocre at best and it actually gave me food poisoning. They got our orders incorrect and it just was very blan and dry. Our burgers were extremely dry and overcooked but it wasn't worth the hassle of getting a new order placed. The pretzel was dry and over salted with really questionable gelatinous beer cheese. 2 years ago I would've said it was a must try but now I'd say skip and go elsewhere. The food berries is very diverse menu. You'll see Kasian food mac & cheese, chili there's even buffalo burger. The beer menu is also very diverse. It ranges from Hales to loggers to brown eels some IPAs, of course nitro stout they were session beers and I chose the cucumber, sour beer, but I felt paired well with the buffalo burger and fries. One of our favorite places to get food but was disappointed tonight. I got the fish and chips wife got the Ruben sandwich and son got the Cuban , theirs were okay but but not as good as usual. My fish consisted of two small pieces of what seemed frozen out of the bag and not their fresh and crispy three or four pieces that I have gotten before. All of ours come with fries which are normally very good but they were overcooked, hard and fewer than normal which was okay . Hope it was just a bad night. Will not take the risk and get the fish again though. read more

Met a couple friends here for lunch. Have to say. It's a decent place to eat. Although the ordering process is a bit different. You walk up to the bar area. Place your order and pay for it. Afterwards you find your table. They deliver food. The tea and water is self served. Although the water is served through an orange igloo brand dispenser you would use for camping. That's weird. I had the Philly cheesesteak with fries and coleslaw. This sandwich is massive. Big enough for at least 3 people. It was fresh. But lacked seasoning/flavor. Fries were on point. Fresh. Seasoned perfectly. Now. The coleslaw. It was a bit on the sour side. I didn't care for that. Overall. This place is a lot better than most places in Palestine. Prices are a bit high though. Oh. Great find in Palestine. Truly enjoyed the food and beer here and the atmosphere was great. They have their secret recipe bbq sauce which is totally different than the traditional bbq sauce we all know. They need to bottle it and sell it, it's that good. The pretzel is soft and tender on the inside with its pretzel shell on the outside. Also had the hot chicken sandwich (I really love it and recommend it).
