We showed up close to closing time but the staff didn't mind at all. Everyone was so friendly and happy to have us here. Our server, Samantha, was so sweet and attentive. I had the shrimp and mussels arrabiata. My husband had chicken parmigiana with a side of fettuccine Alfredo. Both were terrific. This is not the easiest place to find because it's set back from the major highway, but FIND it! My god, the food was absolutely delicious. I had the marinara pasta with shrimp and mussels. I was in town checking out Tyler state park and decided to look up a local place to eat. I'm so glad that I tried Italian Garden. The food was incredible. I ate here twice in two days and was more than satisfied both times. The meals were simple (shrimp scampi and linguine and clams), full of flavor and remarkably economical.. you could easily spend twice the price for the quality of food the kitchen staff was putting out. Not sure what everyone is seeing in this place. Pros: Went here for Mother's Day (after the rush) and was greeted by a nice server and seated promptly. The building is nice. That's where the niceness ended. Cons: It's loud in there. Really loud. They have vaulted ceilings and everyone talking creates a small roar. Add kids screaming into the mix and you have a sound that would put a heavy metal concert to shame. The food was awful. There's no other way to put it. The salad was pre-prepared and dressing very obviously out of a jar. You are charged $1 extra for a "Caesar" salad that is just a plain salad with Caesar dressing. Bread for the table was also hard (possibly over cooked or stale) with nothing to dip it in. I had the shrimp Alfredo as the entree and the shrimp was very undercooked, the Alfredo sauce was flavorless and watery (I'm honestly not sure if it wasn't just whole milk. Same thing with my wife's chicken Alfredo. This "Italian" restaurant that has no wine offerings at all. You are simply given the check and told to go up front to pay. The front desk was unattended for 5+ minutes while waiting to pay. In a nutshell, this place needs to do better. Updated late 2023: Tried again, same results. Honestly surprised the place is still open with it being tucked away off the main road. read more

This is a great Mom & Pop business that I'm happy to support. The restaurant is clean and laid out nicely. The wait staff is friendly and genuinely wants you to have a great experience. The menu was typical with lots of familiar choices. I've enjoyed their pizza, and several pasta dishes. All the dishes I've tried were lightly seasoned, which I feel could use some improvement. They serve a quality product but taste is a bit bland for my liking. Overall, I have enjoyed every meal, both lunch and dinner. When the wife and I don't feel like cooking and cleaning up the Italian Garden is one of our "preferred" local restaurants. Give this eatery a try. If you're in the area definitely stop by. We came for dinner and the atmosphere was great. It was dimly lit, the service was quick, and the staff was friendly. Most importantly the food was great! My husband had the chicken marsala and I had the fettuccine carbonara. Neither of us had leftovers. We ordered my son the kids spaghetti and it was a hefty portion for a child's plate. The bread and side salad was great also. They gave us plenty of bread, and the drink cups were huge also. I really appreciated the size of the drink cups, we never had to ask for refills. If you are looking for authentic outstanding Italian food, look no further. The Italian Garden food is so good you will be jealous of Lindale if you do not live here. First - The Soup (sorry we are not a salad family, so I do not know): Get the soup of the day. I don't care what soup it is; I think I had them all, it will be creamy, loaded with flavor, and your only regret will be that you didn't order the large bowl. I have never tasted soup so rich, even when I was visiting Europe, regretfully I did not visit Italy, but I did venture into at least two authentic Italian establishment and tried the soup, nothing even come close to The Italian Garden. Second - The Entrees: I have had the Shrimp & Mussels Arrabbiata, the Seafood Combo, Salmon & Shrimp, and Linguini Clam White Wine Sauce. All was good and the texture was spot on. The combination of onions, garlic, and butter will have your taste buds dancing and begging for more. The chef obviously takes their time ensuring that everything is clean so that one does not get that grit from eating mussels and clams that many places overlook. I look forward to trying more entrees. My wife has had Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Primavera, and Chicken Diane. Normally I must finish her plate, but not here. I get a taste and then she devours the rest. My wife is a petite little thing, but I think she hollow out her leg when she comes here. The bites I did receive were mind blowing. The combination of the peppers, onion, garlic, mushrooms, wine sauce and butter were perfect. My daughter only eats pepperoni pizza. The pizza is good. I only think I rate it good because I like to load up my pizza with all sorts of vegetables and meats. My daughter will have a few slices and we will take them home, but this is where it gets interesting. My daughter does not eat leftovers, normally I eat everyone's leftovers for breakfast and/or lunch the next day. Not this pizza. My daughter will eat this the next day. Third - The Atmosphere: It is just a nice little restaurant. They don't try and slam all the table together to get more business. They want everyone to be comfortable. The only negative comment we have is that it can be noisy inside when it's really busy. Stopped in for lunch for the first time. The parking lot is always full. To my surprise they were open dispute all the chaos with the snow. I ordered a Stromboli and was pleasantly surprised. Delicious and filling too! Husband ordered Spaghetti and meatballs. Been a couple of times. They care as little for the customers as they do for food quality. They are supposed to be owned by the same company as Little Italy, but the quality is definitely not there. I have personally tried to bring it to the managers attention, she was not interested in hearing it at all. Others have told me they have had the same experience.
