What's up? Yesterday I had the Choose 2 with horseradish roast beef sandwich and chef salad. The sandwich had one slice of meat that didn't even cover the whole bun. The salad had very little meat and cheese and was probably 90% greens. The meat was sliced very thin and then cut into pieces half the size of my little fingernail. They were too small to even spear with a fork. Yet the price was as big as always. read more

McAllister in Athens has moved and downsized to a café set up where you go to a counter and order your meal and then bring it to you. It's much smaller than the previous McAllister's but the food that we had was fine. My husband was a little disappointed in the nachos as they were the kind where they pile a bunch of stuff on it big pile of nachos and you end up having beer or nachos and getting your fingers nasty and kind of like ballpark nachos with a bunch of pizza veggies on top. They tasted good and he ate the whole thing although he did say if I'm gonna pay this much I'm gonna finish it. I had the baked potato and it was pretty good! It was huge and I started off with the potato with butter and sour cream and then added a few veggies that I felt would be good. The whole thing was only eight dollars and when I say it was huge it was really huge and plenty to eat so I felt the price was good. I had sweet tea which is one of the main things I like when we go to McAllister's. The staff was friendly and helpful. They came to check on us couple of times but not too much to be annoying. For a bare bones interior they had some comfortable seating, they had seating designated for a wheelchair in handicap which is always nice. When we went in there were only a few patrons but as we ate the restaurant began to get a little bit more busy. It never got loud, and it never felt crowded. We finished our meal by splitting a piece of carrot cake which was enormous and amazing but a little pricey. All in all I would recommend this place for an elevated lunch when you're looking for something better than fast food. read more

Haven't ever had any issues with this McAlister's- not sure why all of the bad reviews but we have been coming for years. Always good pretty fast service and the food seems to be very consistent to other McAlisters we have been to. It's a great lunch option for this small town. Love that they also have a patio! We arrived and decided to order from the app at our table! Ordering was great! Drinks came to table and dropped off! Nothing was said! We ordered sweet teas with lemon! However there was no lemon! The 2 ladies the borough our food didn't speak at all. I asked for an more dressing and it was not pleasant! I would say the food was ok at best! Would probably not stop here again! Horrible to-go service!! My order number is 10156. Time 07:49 PM, 08/02/2021. I order two McAlister Clubs, cheese cake and two teas. I don't know who is in charge of checking the food before it goes to the customer, but they failed to do their job. The White/Female, with Black hair, pale skin who was placing the to go order on the counter was the last one to touch my order. She looked annoyed and that "pssh"attitude. Once I got my order to my hotel.... I was disappointed. I literally had a whole sandwich which was folded to look like it was in fours... I had broken sandwich style toothpicks in the sandwich. It look like someone took a bite into it. The second was fine but it was still poorly put together. The bread wasn't even toasted. Only thing that was right was the Broccoli and cheese cake. When I come into town/ Athens for business, I always go to MCallister's.. but after this incident.. I'm not doing my business with them. They need better supervision. very disappointed. read more

Won't be back. The food was lame, the water and ice tea were gross. Starting with the food: we split a salad. The service was good, by the way, as they split the salad for us. The minute amount amount of Guacamole was sour, roasted corn almost non existent. Grilled cheese sandwich: the bread had no taste, nor did the cheese and this is coming from a 12 year old boy! Disappointed!! My wife and I have been to this location before and it was good but tonight's meal was not! We ordered the ultimate nachos and they hardly had any cheese on them and a brown avocado. Terrible experience. Placed my order 30 minutes prior to my arrival. When I approach the cashier, she knows my order and charges the appropriate price. I LOVE McAlister's but we had a pretty awful experience this time. First off, the teeny boppers working behind the counter were beyond rude and didn't even acknowledge us as we walked in or even speak with us at all except to ask "and what to drink?" when we ordered our food. Second off, McAlister's changed my favorite sandwich, to something I wasn't gonna like. I wanted to order a tuna sandwich instead but they were out of tuna, and couldn't be bothered to make anymore I suppose. In the end, the food was okay but the service was horrendous. So my team was traveling through Texas for a tournament and we stopped here and we were excited for good food at McAlister's. When we walked in a fly dive bombed me and it was hotter than blue blazes up in this joint. The wait staff was impatient. They were out of spuds and that's what half of us wanted to eat. WHO RUNS OUT OF POTATOES??? They also didn't ask if we wanted lemons with our waters, we had to go back and tell them. One of us asked for a refill for two waters and a lemon in one and they just filled one and put a lemon in the other. The tables are covered with flies and really dirty. Now this is what a 4-cheese veggie chili pasta dish is supposed to be like! They usually aren't too terribly busy or crowded when I've come. The staff are very friendly & helpful, making sure I have everything I need without being too overbearing or overwhelming. This is one of our favorite places to eat, especially Sundays. Had a house salad with chicken salad. It was HUGE. I seriously could not eat the whole thing. The chicken salad was delicious. Meaty with cranberries, nuts and slightly sweet dressing. The girl that took our order was so sweet. She answered our questions about the different sandwiches with a smile. The restaurant was fairly crowded and our food came out in about 5 minutes. I always hesitate to go to McAllister's because I'm not big on sandwiches but the salad tonight changed my opinion completely. read more

I recently ordered McAllisters through Waitr, when my driver pulled up to drop my food off the food on the receipt was correct but they had given me all different sandwiches I didn't have any sides my no mac & cheese and the sandwiches were not what I expected and I called up there not to complain but just to let them know that my order was not correct I spent $80 through Waiter to get McAllister's and was very upset when it wasn't right I called up there and was on the phone with a very nice lady she explain to me they were very busy she was very sorry about everything that happened are used to work in the food industry so I understand and I told her I understood she told me that she would write my name and phone number down and then I would give a call back and talk to Kimmy I just recently talked to Kimmy and she says it has nothing to do with McAllisters it's all through Waiter when Waitr got the right order They had just put different sandwiches in the bag I talk to the manager Kimmy she was saying there's nothing she can do about it because it's through a third-party I just want to get on here and say that I am very displeased with how the way they treat their customer service I feel is not looking for free food but if I pay 80 bucks for a meal it should be right and I should be treated with A little bit of decency so I will not be eating at McAllisters no more their customer service is horrible and I've had nothing but bad experiences with them read more

At work (in Austin) we hired McAlister's Deli to do a small catering job for a luncheon in Athens and we couldn't be more pleased! Not only was the food good, but the people were so friendly - from the person I spoke to on the phone who took my order, to the person who delivered the food to my coworker. They even gave us a hand-written thank you note and some trash bags for clean up! I couldn't let this go by without giving them a kudos! The food is good other than the mashed potatoes. Everytime I go, the tables and floor is dirty. The employees are usually just standing around talking when they could be wiping off dirty tables so customers have a clean table to sit down at. They used to ask if we want refills but I guess they don't anymore. read more
