In fact, it's the first grocery store I've been to in the US where the courtesy clerk (bagger) automatically brings your groceries to your car. I don't know if they do this with everyone, but we had assistance both times we shopped here. Maybe it was because my sisters are pretty, or because we had a cartful each time, or both. The prices are low, but I deduct a star for their very limited selection of whole grain breads and pastas. TIP: get the Brookshire's Thank You card to save money. It takes about 2-5 minutes, depending on how fast you type into the kiosk. It's a nice store in a very small town.

Hubby & I headed out to see a good friend's new house & we were looking forward to grabbing a delicious Cheeseburger & Crinkle Fries at The Phalba Store. Man, this has to be one of the BEST Cheeseburgers I've ever eaten! I'm a sucker for Crinkle Fries, too. The store is so clean and welcoming. It's decorated with red booths and chairs, antique farming equipment & tools , old fishing rods & lures, old Barlow & Case Pocket Knives with Old Gunsmoke TV Shows playing on the Huge Flat Screen. There's also an old 70's Pin Ball Machine in the corner. I like it! The store carries minimal groceries, Bread, Mustard, Mayo., Pickles, Chips, Cookies, Candy, Paper Towels, TP, Cleaning Supplies, Cold Drinks, Ice, Tylenol, Advil...etc. It's all fresh and the store only carries @ 5-10 loaves Bread, packages of Cookies, & Bags of Chips, at a time. That way the food stays fresh. The Phalba Store also sells Local Seasonal Vegetables......cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, squash, purple hull peas, blackeyed peas, etc., all very reasonably priced. The Shinning Star to me is their Cheeseburger & Crinkle Fries! I hope The Phalba Store will continue to stay open for many years to come. It's a great little Stop if you're ever out that way. I've never heard of a Beef Jerky Outlet so I was very interested to learn about what I may find inside. As expected, there was a wide range of meat and flavors. They even had a vegan jerky option ( I did not purchase that although I was almost tempted too). There was also dried fruit and a small section of candy for those wanting a sweet treat after their salty fix. Due to COVID19, samplings where not allowed to be passed out, but the store was very clean and well organized. The gentleman at the cash register seemed a bit stoic and quiet, but he was very helpful when questions were directed towards him. Prices were on the higher end, but it's not one of those things you have every day ( or at least that's the case for me) so its worth the splurge.
