I'm Vietnamese, I'm Asian Tday is the first time I go to Buffet with my siblings. You guys should try because the food really awesome. The waiters take good care of us, they will take away your dishes as soon as you eat them clean to make sure your dining area is really clean. When you get inside they will ask you what water to drink and get them for you Dishes are added quickly and hotly Fruits, vegetables healthy, ice creams, cakes, that things we hadn't tried yet because time was up :(( We'll come back

I really wanted to like this place, because its the Asian buffet in town. The prices have gone up since the last Yelp review, I have updated them in the picture. Other reviews also mentioned crab legs. I went on a Saturday night, and there were no crab legs. The only 'steak' available was strips of sliced beef you could get in the hibachi, which I do not consider to be steak. As far as the sushi, which I was looking forward to, they had a whopping two varieties to choose from on a busy Saturday night. It was actually the same roll but one had extra fake crab mayo topping on the top. No raw rolls were available. Still, I did try a wide variety of the food. Honestly, the hibachi was the only thing that tasted even remotely close to 'good'. It still wasn't good, but at least tasted fresh. I was really hoping to find a go to Asian buffet in Rochester, but cannot bring myself to come back here.

    My hibachi creation.

Updating my review because I went for Dinner the second time.( First time was lunch) and I will say it was by far better. The food in general just tasted better. There is also a few things they have at dinner that they do not have at lunch. Probably my most favorite is that they have already prepared steaks. They serve them at the hibachi grill. They are already cooked, and the guy working the hibachi station will just heat them up for you. It's a fairly decent size steak too..about a 6oz portion. I got two of them. I am on a low carb diet so I was happy they had steaks included with the dinner buffet. There was also a good amount of things I found on the buffet that allowed me to stay true to my diet. As my previous review stated, the waiters were all attentive and made sure my drink stayed full. Everything looked extremely fresh from the hot buffet items to the cold ones like the fruits/deserts. Once again the items on the raw hibachi station looked well maintained, fresh, chilled. Still the best hibachi I have seen at a Chinese buffet. I am a frequent flyer to Chinese buffets. I have been to all of them in Rochester and this is by far the best one. Beating out my previous favorite for the last 15+ years now, the original "China buffet". Other Chinese buffets take notice! You better step your game up or you will be losing more business to Asian Buffet.

We have been here a few times in the past and, in my opinion, they are staying consistent. As far as Greece area Chinese buffets, I think this place is the top. Overall, fairly clean with very friendly staff and a large seating area. I would say that the most notable aspects of this place are the very large dessert selection (simple options like cookies, ice cream, and little squares of cake) and large variety of meat and seafood dishes. For example, today I tried a Hong Kong style of cut beef. Actually quite good! I also tried some kind of spicy chicken that was very good and they regularly have large bbq ribs. I also really enjoy their fresh mixed vegetables, hibachi fried rice, veggie sushi rolls, crispy fried cream cheese wontons, and lemon pepper fried chicken wings. What keeps me from giving five-stars is that some of my favorite dishes are not well done: the egg rolls are mushy, the lo mein noodles are thin and lacking in flavor, and the fried sugar donuts are not very sugary and overly fried. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will switch these recipes up in the future.

Ask the Community - Asian Buffet

Is there a family / kids night?

    Yes!

How much do they charge for lunch /dinner per person and is it all you can eat?

6.99 for lunch 11.99 for dinner. Drink not included. It is all you can eat. If you come during lunch and eat through dinner they will charge you for dinner if you eat any of the items that are marked "dinner only"

    How's the sea food?

The steamed seafood was pretty good! Clams, Crawfish, Shrimp etc. (I wasn't there on a day with crab legs but those are hard to mess up.) The seafood "bakes" and stuffed shrimp etc. didn't look that great so I avoided them.

You are seated at a tablet in front of a conveyor belt with the sushi making it's way around the restaurant. You can take whatever catches your eye as it passes in front of you, or you can order from the tablet. If you order from the tablet, little cars bring the food on a second, higher conveyor belt above the first one, or sometimes a robot brings it to your seat. So there are 2 moving belts, robots, and servers. It's a lot! Fun, but be aware. It is cool that you can see things moving past and try different things. The plates on the belt are also less than a full order, which means you can try more things, if that's your style. Service is pretty quick since you're helping yourself from the belt. They do a good job making sure there is a variety of items on the belt and seemed to restock pretty quickly. You can mostly chose from rolls and nigiri. I do like American style rolls, and enjoyed the options. The guy prefers nigiri. We ordered some tempura and picked some nigiri from the menu as well. I really enjoyed the veggie tempura. They have good salmon - we tried the peppered salmon, which he thought was too much, but was smokey and peppery, and I enjoyed. There was also a spicy yellowtail, and plain salmon that was also nice quality. We shared an ice cream sundae with one of the little fish shaped cakes for dessert, which was really good. I liked the little cake with the red bean paste inside. It was fun and pretty low key.

Nothing spilled, everything still looked fresh, which already put me in a good mood. Now the food... I cannot believe how good the lobster roll is. If you haven't had it, you haven't lived. It's that kind of good. Like pause mid-bite, close your eyes, what is happening right now kind of delicious. The miso soup was a whole experience by itself. Warm, comforting, and it just felt nourishing. Not just something on the side, but something you actually appreciate with every sip. And the Brussels sprouts... I added just a little soy sauce and wow. Completely took them to another level. So simple but so good. This is one of those places where everything hits. Fast delivery, great packaging, and food that actually lives up to the hype. I'm already bookmarking this spot.

We came here on a packed Saturday night when RIT's Nova group was hosting a fundraiser, so we got discounted AYCE and we knew a portion of proceeds were going to their organization. The wait was about 50 minutes at peak dinner time, so that was fair. I was very impressed with how clean and efficient everything was, including the cart at the end of the table for used dishes. Our food came out fairly quickly as we ordered on the tablet, and it was the kind of quality you always hope to get at a sushi joint: nice sized portions, very fresh tasting, lovely presentation. I appreciated that you could also help yourself to the rotating belt options for no extra charge. The only things we paid extra for were fountain drinks, and even those included refills (or so we were told - we only had one). The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. I hope whatever issues people experienced here in the past have been resolved because it sure felt like a top tier experience at an affordable price to me! My one beef is that the menu was missing a mackerel option but I'll be back another day to see if they have it

I chose this place because it offers not only sushi but also some dim sum dishes. It's a great place to try something new. We waited almost an hour for a seat on a busy night, but since it's an all-you-can-eat restaurant, I think it was reasonable. There were about 10 people ahead of me on the waiting list, and the food quality remained delicious throughout the meal. The service was also keeping up with the demand. The sashimi was incredible. I can't say I don't like any sashimi, but I love them all. Almost every sushi and sashimi we ordered was delicious. However, there's one thing I don't care for: the sticky rice shumai/shu mai. We think it's lacking in flavor. Overall, we had a great time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was good. I do think there's room for improvement in the dessert menu. The food was really good! On par with many other sushi places I've been in Rochester. I don't eat meat, and there were still so many veggie options for me. I especially loved the veggie dumplings and tofu skin/avocado roll. My bf loved the spicy crab onigiri and the beef skewers. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. They are known as an all you can eat place, but we got two rolls for take away instead. From what I saw when picking up, the place looks nice enough inside, but nothing special. We ordered a Dream Roll and a 2 in 1 roll. Neither were that great and the dream roll was missing the tuna and salmon it was supposed to have and they used a crab stick instead of real crab which was disappointing as well. The 2 in 1 roll was ok but nothing special. I will say that the order was ready early and they were gracious enough to included eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side as I requested, because it was not available as an add on, so I am going to assume the service is solid. The Chef was making our sushi in the front of the restaurant. Which is really important to me. A chef who doesn't hide his kitchen is confident in the quality of their food, and their cleanliness. I ordered 2 sushi rolls. I cannot remember which ones. But they were extremely fresh and tasty. I will think on it while typing and see if I remember. I have "Chemo Brain" so it hard. I know you're not supposed to have Sushi while on Chemo, but I have been craving it for weeks. I decided it was time for treat. My Dr told me yes, as long as I picked a top notch place. My husband is skeptical of sushi, so I ordered him shrimp fried rice, and Hibachi beef with veggies and rice. We ordered online, ahead of time while we were out running errands. We arrived early. We were graciously welcomed by both the Chef, and a very nice woman. We took it to go, and drove home. Super easy, and I think it is a husband and wife team. A very kind woman packed our bags. I was so happy that she put the Sushi In a separate bag, than the hot food. This might sounds simple, but it is a HUGE mistake that many restaurants make. I usually always get my sushi hot or salads wilted by steam when we order to go, so it was a nice treat, that care and common sense was used. The sushi was amazing. Ooh I remember now! lol. 1 of my dishes was a tempura roll, with Tuna on top, Avocado, and spicy sauce. The 2nd dish was similar, but made with real crab meat. It had something in it that gave it nice crunch. May have been tempura chips. My husband liked the shrimp fried rice, they chopped the shrimp up small, so at first he didn't see any. But he liked the flavors. He said it made the flavor more consistent. The Beef Hibachi dish, he said wasn't worth it. Too little beef. There were a lot of squash in the mixed veggies. He is not a squash fan. I helped him eat it and I liked it. But I can see that the portions are not "Big man" sized. Which I knew taking him there. But Japanese food is not usually pig out plates. It's nice healthy food. That's is what I wanted, and since I am sick, I got what I wanted. haha! He actually really enjoyed my Sushi. He didn't finish the shrimp fried rice, so he cooked up some chicken later that evening, and mixed it with the shrimp fried rice. we ate again as a 2nd meal. It was delicious. We both decided they have excellent sushi, one of the best places I've had in Rochester. We will be coming back again. We will probably stick with Sushi and maybe try their noodles. I think next time we will eat there. Even though we had some things we didn't care for. I did want to judge the menu, until we try more of it. It was touted on Google and Yelp as a sushi restaurant, not as a full service Japanese restaurant. As a result I am giving a pass on what we didn't like. Because what we did like was AMAZING.
