New Chinese Buffet Family Food Adventure!!! We were so excited to have a new Chinese buffet to try. We went twice. After seeing this establishments parking area packed for a couple weeks we finally stopped in to try it. Right off this place has a smaller footprint in regard to seating and food options than most Chinese buffets I have been to and that is many, over my years. Since it was our first time we gave it a shot hoping the food would be good. I will break this down into two different reviews for the 2 times we have visited this establishment. The first visit was during the dinner rush around 7:30 pm. The food was fresh and tasted good. Most dishes were what they should be, but with so little options it was like eating a similar dish every-time. Moving past the lesser options and even though it was the dinner rush. The food was actually mostly luke warm. Not all dishes, but a decent amount of them. I even got a few things after they were freshly topped off and the food was still not as hot as we would have liked it. There were 6 of us and unfortunately we all felt the same way about the food. It was good, but Luke warm. The server was friendly, but we felt very rushed as the check was brought after only a few plates with not much on them as we started by sampling little portions before we filled our plates with what we found that we liked. The place is new so it was clean and the ambience inside is nice. While we were eating I took a look at the receipt and I noticed the cost per plate was almost 20$ without a drink. Food to Value ration is poor in comparison to other buffets that charge a similar amount. We decided to give this place another chance even at the cost vs selections because the food was good and we were in the area and wanted Chinese. Our 2nd visit was a bit later than dinner rush. We arrived at about 8:30 PM, still an hour in a half before closing. We sat down and when we got up to get our food we noticed some dishes were more filled than other, but we thought maybe they were just catching up after the dinner rush. Nope we were wrong. They did not fill a single dish back up while we were there. It was more like eat what's left were not cooking more of anything and they were pretty much out of Sushi as well. We ate the food and it was definitely not as good as the first Again, the server was nice, but we felt rushed even though there were only 5-6 tables. There were also 2-3 tables of staff that were sitting down in the restaurant eating food that they were bringing from the back. I Bet it was fresher and hotter than their buffet customer options. In closing for both these reviews. I have seen a decline in how many cars are in their parking lot and I have not seen any good reviews. I think this place will only make money with people that don't want to drive to Winter Haven or Lakeland for the better larger Chinese buffets. All I can say is we won't be back, but... Recently opened here. Not huge but the raw and cooked seafood selections are amazing. Cold shrimp, Crab legs, Oysters, Clams, Mussels. Then about 6-7 versions of each hot related several ways, seafood boil, chicken wings, marinated chicken, beef filet strips, spare ribs, beef and broccoli, Asian string beans, cold salads, ample variety of cold desserts, Hershey's ice cream cups etc etc Only down side is if they run out of something you liked lol. I liked that they seemed to care about cleanliness ( a biggy for me if I ever go to buffets) and customer service too. The place can use a facelift inside but as long as it's clean and the food is good for the value , which it is makes it a win in my book. Ample seating but not huge so if you're a big party try to call ahead or be prepared to wait. They also offer a senior citizen discount which in these times is a huge plus!! Have been there twice and both times we were very happy. One warning good and bad what you liked the first time may not be on buffet the next time you go ( my husband wanted the honey walnut shrimp the 2nd time we went but was not on buffet). Good thing is they add some new dishes we tried and liked. Created this review because when something exceeds expectations then you want a new restaurant location to stay in business. I ate there today for lunch, nothing special. A lot of the entrees I tasted were on the just barely warm side to cold. I think one of their problems is that very few people are in there and the turnover of food sits. Lots of versions and desserts. Service is very good price was ok for lunch. No drinks included. I will not return but continue to go to Buffett City on Cypress. read more

This is a new business at the time of this review, only open a month now I think. First off the location is hard to get in and out of. Parking has been busy but they do have plenty of it even though it gets tight. The building is small so it can get pretty full fast. The staff are neutral, not very friendly but not rude. We did feel like they were rushing us out the door though and I don't like to feel rushed. We don't usually eat a huge amount either. Since the place is small there's not a lot of room to put out the food. Dishes are only accessible from one side but there are two-stacked so in many cases you have to reach over another dish to get stuff in the back. This is not the best for keeping things hygienic. Also the spoons can fall into another dish because they are stacked. I had one person just leave some tongs sitting inside the food of another dish instead of putting them on the side or plate. They have an ok selection of sushi. The typical rolls. They have a good selection of seafood with crab legs, baked fish, muscles, shrimp, scallops, crayfish, octopus etc. they didn't have a huge amount of chicken, pork and beef dishes. Some didn't have much flavor. They have ribs and good portions of meat on skewers and wings. I think there were only two noodle dishes. They have two or three soups, a small salad bar and small fruit area. Desert is very basic. No cookies, mostly sheet cake and a few flavors of frozen cups of ice cream. Price is pretty good if you want to indulge on seafood but if you want much of the other things typically at a Chinese buffet I would go elsewhere. Pro- plenty of selections to choose from. Food looked appetizing. Cons-even though the steam buffet was generating lots of steam, everything selected was room temperature at best. Almost 3:00pm when we arrived. Some of the fried selections were cold, dry and tough ( chicken wings). Was our first visit and most likely our only visit. read more

Not as well run as others like Lings of Lakeland on S. Florida Ave. The only hot vegetable is string beans. The later from 4:00 PM you are for dinner. For example, at 4:00 the broccoli in the chicken (the ONLY other hot vegetable) Is somewhat crunchy but by 5:00 p.m. it's pretty mushy. The older the food looks mushier or dry. The sushi, aside from salmon on rice (tends to be pretty dry), All has fake crab in it, and all is unlabeled so you don't know what it is. The raw oysters are small and some of them are little mushy- So you worry about freshness. The crab legs should be hot but they're on ice. I've gone in when they're almost out of food in the trays and and they're not quick to replenish them. . The cost is the same as other buffets although not as good. The ambulance is pretty plain except for the fancy round Asian buffet sign on the wall. read more

This place was a hot mess--except for the food, which was lukewarm at best. Every dish tasted like it had an identity crisis, and the whole buffet could probably fit on my kitchen counter. The service? Let's just say our waitress stared at the check like it was a riddle clearing the table. Super awkward and uncomfortable. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is the definition of "you get what you pay for"--except I'm still wondering what exactly I paid for. The food looked like it had been sitting under heat lamps since the last lunar eclipse. The General Tso's chicken was somehow soggy and dry, the sushi was warm (never a good sign), and the crab rangoons tasted like regret wrapped in stale wonton. I was highly disappointed with my visit to the Asian buffet at 314 Havendale Blvd., Auburndale, FL I went in and I was with someone and we were going to get one adult meal and one kids meal and when we ordered that the employee Maggie said oh she's a kid then after we were seated, she kept saying how tall the kid was and then my face started to get red and my throat felt funny so I thought I may have been having some kind of reaction so I stepped out for a second and the kid was still inside the restaurant then Maggie and another employee who I'm guessing was her mother sat at a table and stared at the kid and then came up to her and asked her how old she was what grade she was in and what school she went to and kept going on and on about how tall she was, the kid explained that her dad was really tall and she also had on boots which gave her a lot of height and then they turned around and started speaking in a different language and laughing the food was disgusting and the service was extremely terrible. The restaurant was very small with very few people in there. Overall, my experience was terrible. The food was terrible. The service was terrible and it's safe to say that I will never ever be returning back to this restaurant and I hope that no one else has to endure this kind of service from this place. read more
