They were steadily busy throughout the evening so a wait is possible if you were to arrive at peak time. The setting is casual and in an old house- hence the name. If you ask to be seated in the back room, you'll have a view of the lake. The servers were very friendly and efficient. Food and drinks were prompt! We shared the onion loaf to start and had a variety of dishes around the table from steak, lobster tails, grouper, scallops, and the multitude of accompaniments. Everything was cooked beautifully! Especially the scallops. That was probably my favorite since they melted like butter in the mouth. I also enjoyed the hush puppies that were served with every main dish. Bonus points for the fact that many of the dressings and sauces are made in house. Since it was an occasion, we had some chocolate cake for dessert which didn't disappoint. The cake was rich and fudgy. My dad is a regular so I am definitely sold. The man is a critic and if he is impressed, I know something must be good! I was also impressed and can't wait to come again.

Happy Hour: just for some drinks and unfortunately not explained by the waitress and not indicated on the menu we got We had a watermelon smash (12 dollar) and a harborside margrita (13 dollar) which were very good. We ordered the gator bites (18,50 dollar) ... hugh portion. The drunken mussels (16.50 dollar) were delicious but too fast too cold We ended with a pineapple rum cake (13.50 dollar - for me too sweet) and a NY cheesecake (10.50 dollar) which was delicious. Total of the bill: 116.63 dollar. We decided NOT to tip, due to the fact we got a surcharge fee because we paid with a credit card ‍ In all these years, we NEVER had this Sorry guys, it's that or a tip. In spite of the beautiful view on the lake, we will not come back.

I checked TikTok to get some real reviews, most were pretty positive so we went to check it out. We were greeted immediately and waiting about 5 minutes to be seated. So far so good. Greeted by our waitress... she was eh... not the most chipper young lady. She wasn't rude but she definitely had an emptiness about her... almost like she really hates being there to paint a better picture for you. The food was alright at best. Would I go back there again? Probably not. We didn't have a great experience here but it wasn't a horrible one either. A better waitress would have made the experience better for visiting but the food was still just alright. I wish I took photos, but it would just look like the rest. Looks good, just really depends on your pallet overall.

Awesome Local Florida Seafood!…read more When I first started eating from this food truck they used to serve fries with the protein. Since the accident with their truck and they have been using the smaller trailer truck they stopped serving fries. Instead they replaced it with 4-5 Hushpuppies and a small sauce container of coleslaw. To me its not worth buying the plates without the fries because you feel its less food for the price you pay. My favorites are : Crab bites / crab cake balls. They increased the price to $10 and you only get 5 pcs now. Apparently the size is bigger than before. The new size is golf balls size. Fried Shrimp / you pretty much pay $1 a shrimp. You get about 10-11 shrimps per plate. They are huge shrimps. This costs about $11. Fried Grouper Sandwich / this is my favorite when it came with fries. Because I don't eat the bun - I eat the grouper like fish and chips! The grouper is huge! And tasty! It is one of the popular item on the menu! The cocktail and tartar sauce and the coleslaw are house made. To me the blackberry lemonade and coleslaw tastes like publix. I only follow them to grab eats when im craving but since they stopped serving fries I slowly decline following them nowadays. The cod fish and chips most of the time the fish is tad overcooked .. and no more fries! So I stopped ordering it. As much as I hate to not support the locals .. until they bring back fries in the plates, I wouldn't support as much anymore.

We found Melanie's Seafood! Small place and simple decor. All the cooking is down out in the open. Our server, Cricket, was friendly and inviting and gave us some good recommendations. I had the Mahi Mahi Reuben sandwich with potato salad. My wife ordered the Crabcake sandwich with their own coleslaw. We just drank water. The food was really tasty and welcome. We haven't had any seafood in a while so this was greatly anticipated and it was not disappointing. So tasty and different. The coleslaw was really interesting and flavorful. I asked for the ingredients and was told the secret. Not giving it away here! The restaurant is clean, simple and organized well. It was somewhat quiet because the start of the college football season just started and everyone was watching at home. The service was terrific and attentive. I recommend checking out this place.

From the time I was seated, to my waiter (Matthew) service and talking to the owner (Ray). Being from The Villages area, my friend & I like to visit restaurants that are not in our area; usually we go to lunch. My friend got the Chicken Parm & the piece of Chicken was huge & very tender. My choice was the Italian Deli Sandwich which was very yummy. I am a travel agent who does many local bus trips & I am planning on bringing a group of 34 ladies to this establishment. Before I got home, Hailey (Ray's wife) already sent me several group menus. I was very impressed with how quickly Hailey responded. FYI - I did not make a reservation so Ray did not know I was coming over ahead to time. They just treated me like anyone else. I would highly recommend this restaurant for you personal pleasure but also if you have a group who would like to go somewhere different. When you walk in the ambiance is like an upscale place but the pricing is great and compares to other eateries. So do your self a favor & give them a try. You won't regret it.

We were seated in the back room for a birthday dinner celebration. The room was extremely dark and we couldn't turn on the other lights because it was connected to the most dustiest ceiling fans that had at least 1/4 of an inch thick of dust. The woman who was coming in and out of the room to pour water in the water glasses had an attitude like she didn't want to be there. I asked her a question about the menu and she very dryly told me "you can't order that unless you are on the other side" then walked away. That's when I was inquiring about the bistro menu. At that point I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat anything there due to their lack of plant based items or even easily adjustable items so I just ate the bruschetta. However when we placed the order for the bruschetta it never came out. So once we asked about it, it was then comped and brought out. Our waiter was very irritated and annoyed it seemed with the large party he had to tend to but his assistant which was a younger more personable guy was way more pleasant to be around. The cost point for the food was beyond the taste and size of the portions. When I asked about kid options, the waiter told me he could have the chef make a kids steak or chicken tenders and fries. It was my mistake for not asking for the price since I assumed it was a kids portion. Granted the tiniest steak did come out I still had to pay over $24 which I would have purchased the regular adult size if that was the case. So some clarity on the menu options for the kids would have been greatly appreciated. I can go on and on about this place but ultimately I would recommend not to go here unless you don't care about customer service or price points. Upon leaving the family event, and getting home I then realized my debit card was never returned to me by our gracious waiter. So once we returned to retrieve the card another day we were greeted with the rudest and most annoyed individuals at the host station. Needless to say we will never ever return.

Older lady, you can tell she's been around as a waitress for a while. Kind of reminds me of like the old diner waitresses "What are you having" lol. Anyway, she was awesome. She let us pick off both options. We ordered the pirate one which is BBQ choices and we got some of the sea dog options for the seafood side. So sweet. We first got our bread. It was good. Tasted like a yeast bread. Came oiled and with sweet butter. It also came with a salad as well for the table which had cheese, tomatoes onion and greens. The salad dressing was light and sweet. The main food came. It came with ribs, flank steak, pulled pork, brisket, beans, string beans, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, sausage, and shrimp. 3 sauces came with it, regular bbq, mango bbq and mustard. The mango bbq had real mango in it. Now, preface by saying I understand this isn't a 5 star Michelin chef meal and I wasn't expecting much. However, this was actually very good. The steak was very good. Not dry. The brisket was good. The ribs were good not dry. The pulled pork was dry. The salmon was good, The shrimp was good, Sausage was good, the string beans were ok, the macaroni was very heavy but good and the mashed potatoes were good. Overall I was very impressed. Then for dessert came our chocolate chip covered ice cream with heath bar bits. So very fattening.
