I nice pick up window this is how you order. They did not have blue crab or crawfish today. So I went with #2 snow crab. Try the home made lemonade it's very refreshing.

Can I get these guys 6, 7 or 8 stars!? This place is the best place to get seafood (mostly shellfish) in Lakeland... and I've been searching for 3 years! This is a carry out location, so they'll make you lunch or dinner so you don't have to worry about dirtying your stove! (However, I highly suggest some news paper and lots of paper towels so you can get in there and really enjoy this treat!) The portions are generous and the seafood is FRESH at this family owned hole in the wall treasure!!! We were trying to figure out where to get some seafood for Ash Wednesday after a long day of work, so we finally ordered from Krunchy Krab, and my only regret is not coming here sooner! It's a takeout only place, but the food comes out piping hot so you can head home to enjoy fresh! Bonus points on the preparation! The shrimp were despined & had no heads! The green lip muscles were opened and served on a half shell. My mom hasn't stopped talking about the corn... she even stole my dad's!!! The snow crabs are meaty and tender, cooked to perfection. The potatoes soak up their glorious, slightly spicy sauce! It's flavorful more than "spicy," so most pallets will love! On top of all the yummy food, the service was fantastic too! You can tell that this is a locally owned business that's a part of the Lakeland community. A+ for nights you want amazing seafood without any of the work! Orders can be small for a few people or huge for a party. I'll be back... a lot! See you there soon!!!

In the mood for seafood and stumbled across this place on Yelp. Food was good and flavorful! Food is cooked to order. Also food is brought to your car when it's ready. I enjoyed everything and will definitely be back!

Earlier today I called Krunchy Krab to place a to go pick up order at lunch for the #4 Snow Crab. I arrived about 20 minutes later and my order was ready as soon as I arrived. My ride home was filled with mouthwatering spice filled aromas and I was eager to get home to enjoy my lunch. I was not disappointed. The #4 Snow Crab included 2 crab clusters, 12 shrimp, 12 mussels, 6 sausages, 4 potatoes, and 2 corn. This was enough food for two people. All the food was covered in a flavorful and lightly spicy sauce which paired perfectly with the tender crab, shrimp and mussels, the savory potatoes which soaked up all the sauce, the juicy corn, and the flavorful meaty sausage. Overall, Krunchy Krab is a great place for flavorful seafood.

Four clusters, two corns, and two potatoes. $35 after taxes.

Tried to pre-order takeout online to avoid a wait. I did not see tray I wanted available online, so I called to see if they still sold it. The gentleman that answered the phone said yes and hinted that they do not do call-in orders. I guess I sounded trustworthy, because he said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I assured him I was on the way, and sure enough, my tray was ready when I showed up. There were two men working inside, payment was quick, and the older gentleman was kind enough to load my tray in the back seat. The crab legs were yummy and perfectly seasoned. I could have ate five of those corns! Have a craving for seafood, but practicing social distancing? Give this place a try. It's completely takeout! This was my first visit, and thanks to Yelp, I was able to use the pictures to help recognize the building. On the drive over, I passed by Simpson Park, which I heard so much about. Never knew they had a pool!

The best crab legs ever. If it weren't for Yelp I would know this place existed and it's SO close to my house. So so good. Perfectly done. Yay!

Very good! From out of town and thought we'd try this place out. Very friendly people and really fast. They let us take a sample of their food to see how spicy we wanted. The food was delicious, WELL WORTH IT!

Can we show this family business some LOVE?!! Where do I begin??? May I give it six stars? Ten? What's a 72 mile drive for PHENOMENAL seafood?!! This walk up restaurant has been open 13 months. The older man at the window is the chef's father. The menu is on the outside wall & is easy to read-- prices are clearly marked. There are no inside or outside tables. It's TO GO only. I was greeted immediately by the father-- w/ his big smile & big personality. After ordering a shrimp meal & two sides--snow crab & clams, he told me he was "going to save (me) some money." So he finagled it so I'd have a different meal than what was listed on the menu, charging me slightly under $20 rather than close to $30. After paying, I realized I had forgotten to order a bottle of cold water; he insisted (twice) that I take it @ no charge. After my order was prepared, he walked my bagged container out to my vehicle, insisting on placing it in my cooler and onto my front seat. Before I drove off, this friendly & most kind gentleman reminded me that all the food cooked here is cooked to order-- it's all served hot & fresh. There are three levels of seasoning (mild for wussies like I), & it's the "garlic butter that makes each meal so good." It was well more than an hour before I arrived home to weigh the food & eat 4 oz of my entree. The container weighed 2.12 lbs! And the food was still warm (& delicious)! Everything cost just under $20, & there was enough food for two-- if I should want to share, which is highly doubtful:) The Snow Crab, Shrimp, Clams, Sausage, Corn (a full ear), & Potato (one large, but sectioned) were HEAVENLY! The garlic butter was a nice added touch. I will definitely return! If I lived closer, I'd stop in weekly. This business is just off Memorial & close to MLK; it is a clean area, albeit poor. There's a nice park across the street, & the single family homes are well maintained. This is an entirely different (& safer) area than it was when I last visited Lakeland two decades ago. Kudos to the city of Lakeland planners for their revitalization efforts!

Traveling from Orlando to Tampa to see some old friends... why not find a new place for lunch? After all, we do love some seafood! Krunchy Krab is located in a neighborhood across from a park. It's a small building with parking accommodations for about 2 small cars. You're otherwise able to find parking on the street. Luckily there were no other patrons there when we arrived so life was simple. Also, there is no seating to eat, this is a carry out only spot. We chose to sit in the park across the street to eat. There were some interesting characters roaming the park but no one bothered us. Come to think of it, this wasn't the best looking neighborhood but hey no one bothered us at all. Just be prepared to take the food with you.. Oh and one more thing, no wet wipes available. Thought this was pretty odd for a place serving food such as this but then again, if you're taking it home I guess you don't have to worry about it. The food! Delicious! Customer service was good also, very friendly family working here. They were quite gracious and happy to answer questions and provide any additional items we asked for. And I needed plenty of napkins and possibly a shower afterwards.. Didn't think to ask them about the shower but they were generous with the napkins. I saw a handful of other reviews that talked about how well seasoned the food is here and they aren't lying to you. My better half and I were really impressed with just how tasty everything was and well cooked at that. The only thing that could have been a little better were the mussels as a number of them were still closed after cooking. I'm sure that if we'd gone back and asked they would have taken care of that for us though.. I'd say do yourself a favor and check this place out if you get the chance. We liked it so much we went back a second time a couple of days later on the return trip to the airport.

They gave me a sample since it was my first time. Also told me to wait in the car and they would bring my food out

Amazing little Crab shack I stumbled upon. I'm so happy I found this place. I've been craving crab and didn't know where to look. Great service, favorable food, very good portions and the price is just right. I got the #1, 3 blue crab, 13 shrimp corn, potatoes, and sausage for 16.99 (18.99) after taxes. They let me sample a potato in their garlic butter sauce to try it out. Best sauce I've ever had. They have 3 heat ranges; No heat, medium, and spicy. Medium was perfect for me. The owner was super nice. Asked my name and if I was new then talked me through ordering. They also had boiled eggs and peanuts which he offered. He told me I could wait in my car since it was raining and you have to wait outside and brought me food out to me. I will definitely be back. Try also deliver.

The bar area is kinda dark and you can see straight into the kitchen, but the trade off is that the bartender is usually your server and your drinks are the priority. I usually opt to share an app with my BF (current fave: BBQ shrimp, which have literally nothing to do with BBQ but are nothing short of divine) and then i usually just order a side of fried oysters (highly recommend, SO good!!!) If you are in the Lakeland area and you are hungry then this should be your first choice. We had "Sean" as our server and he was beyond outstanding. He was very attentive and very friendly and he took time to inform us about the specials, most popular items and was able to make suggestions based on our wants. We started with a dozen grilled oysters, half cajun butter and half garlic butter. They were very delicious. They were tasty, fresh and a nice size. My wife went with the grilled wild caught salmon which was described as the wagyu of the sea. And she said it was the best salmon she has ever had. I went with the pick two combo which included catfish, shrimp and cod. And I know that's three but instead of two pieces of catfish, I got one and two piece pieces of cod. My sides were hush puppies and red beans and rice. Let me tell you first of all it was a lot of food, everything was absolutely delicious. But the red beans and rice were amazing, plenty of flavor. And the sweet tea was excellent. We were to full from dessert but we will try some next time. We also met a manager and the owner and they were both very personable and friendly. They both acted like regular people and they both made us feel welcomed. Lastly we sat outside because we had our service animals with us and they also took very good care of them. They provided cold bowls of water and we order a chicken breast for them. Which they cut up in small pieces and provided them with to go bowls for them to eat out of. The crawfish sauce was excellent with 2 big shrimp on top. Everything was cooked well. The green beans on the side were nice and fresh. Rice was great to get that extra sauce. Wife had the Seabass and it was delicious as well. Great portion with a very tasty chimichurri sauce. I will try that next time as it was a hit. Green beans and potatoes on the side. Kid had the pick 2 and it was also very good. I actually liked the coleslaw. It was not mayo based and had a great taste. I ate it all! To start we had the fried pickles. Huge portion. Pickles were a nice thin slice with a seasoned coating. One of the better fried pickles we have had. Fighting for that last piece. Convenient location in an outdoor mall. It was lunchtime and the parking lot was about 3/4 full...a good sign. Prior to entering the front door, I couldn't help but notice numerous license plates from around the country attached to the ceiling of the entry. We were welcomed by a maritime theme, again, along with numerous license plates tacked up in numerous places on the wall. I immediately noticed a few amateur "ham" radio plates. We were greeted by a friendly hostess. The place was bustling with the sounds of many customers chatting and laughing as we were escorted to our table. She presented us with menus and told us our waitress would be there shortly. After a short while we were welcomed by Madison, a lovely, young "bubbly" waitress. She presented us with their complimentary signature biscuits with cinnamon butter and their delicious coleslaw. We had already reviewed the menu and were eager to try their Alligator Nuggets w/horseradish dipping sauce and an order of Fried Calamari. We gave her that and our drink menu. She would be back shortly for our main menu selections. In the meantime, we sampled those excellent biscuits and cinnamon butter and coleslaw. Both...delicious! My wife and I were both there for their catfish, which was recommended by our friends. I got their blackened catfish sandwich and their criss-cut sweet potato fries. My wife got her catfish sandwich southern fried along with the same sweet potato fries I had ordered. Our friends ordered their mahi-mahi with fries and shrimp and scallops linguine with Alfredo sauce. Madison came back shortly with our appetizers. My wife was the only one of our group that hadn't tried alligator before. She was very surprised, commenting that it tasted like chicken. Ha Ha! Both appetizers were excellent. After a short while, the kitchen staff came out with our main menus. Lovely presentations on all of them, and "first bites" were all well-approved! Madison returned a short while later asking how everything was going. We shared our delight with all the meals. Of course, there was no way any of us could possibly have finished our meals, so Madison came back with plenty of "to-go" boxes. It was a very worthwhile experience for us...and our friends who were delighted we had enjoyed our time there. It will be a definite return visit when we come back. We each chose a different fish dish from their lunch menu. Since they are named "catfish" country, I decided to get that. My husband ordered the cod. We chose the fish to be fried -- and they were lightly battered pieces and perfectly cooked. Each basket came with two sides. I got green beans and a baked potato. He had collards and cheesy grits. We both loved our fish choices. The only thing that I didn't care for were the green beans -- more like pole beans and peppery southern style (as in mushy). He thought his collards and grits were wonderful. I think we've found a new favorite place to stop mid-state.
