Reeeeeeeeally good food fresh so much to choose from i would recommend anyone take their family

Buffet City feels like a mix between a tourist hotspot and a local go-to--and honestly, it works as both. It's located in a busy plaza with Publix and other shops, so parking is easy and plentiful. The restaurant can get pretty packed, but unless you're coming in with a large group, reservations aren't really necessary. The buffet leans heavily Asian, offering sushi, a wide variety of seafood dishes, classic Chinese favorites, and a hibachi station. That said, if you're not big on seafood (like me), you'll still find some solid American options. Many Asian buffets tend to limit those choices to basics like pizza and chicken tenders, but Buffet City goes a bit further. I was pleasantly surprised to see pot roast, mashed and roasted potatoes, and even fried chicken. They also have soups, salads, and a dessert selection that's actually pretty good. Come prepared--this is definitely an "elastic waistband" kind of place because you're going to want to eat your money's worth. The restaurant is surprisingly clean and well-kept, and the food stays fresh. The hibachi station has a great selection, and the chef is quick and thorough. Service is decent. Staff come around to refill drinks and clear plates regularly--but be warned, if you're not finished, guard your plate like it's gold. Same goes for your utensils--leave them on a plate, and they're gone. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience--the food, the atmosphere, and the fun of loading up our plates with a little bit of everything. Hope you enjoy it just as much! Went here on a Saturday night. Everything we got was mildly warm. My husband loves sushi, but said this sushi had a really strong over powering fishy taste. We got the strawberry shortcake ice cream from the freezer and it looked like it had started to thaw and was refrozen and it tasted like the stick. We have eaten here before with no issues, so maybe an off day? read more

My first time in Buffet City. My parents loves this place and I hear them talk about this restaurant all the time. We went right after church and wasn't too crowded. I love that they have oysters, shrimp and clams and all of the seafood. There are a lot of buffet options. I didn't get to try them all. I did like the raw oysters and salt and pepper shrimp. The low mein was good. The egg rolls were okay. They had all kinds of Chinese food, soup, salad and desserts. If you want cooked food, they have chefs that will cook it for you. The service was okay. The servers didn't smile or talk at all. The price point is good for a buffet and definitely a better buffet that I've had in a long time. The ambiance is simple and clean. FAMILY BUFFET ADVENTURE!!! This is our go to place for Chinese +more buffet style eating. They have everything you can think of plus Sushi and Hibachi. The food is good for the price and the options are almost limitless!!! How engaging the servers are is hit or miss, depending on who you get, but most places like buffet's have the same challenge, but the plates are removed and the drinks are refilled speedily so that's a bonus in comparison to other buffets we have been to!!! I have tried many buffets in Polk county and this is by far the best. I didn't include pics b/c there are so many already!!! We've been to this location several dozen times it's always good food but it's a buffet. It's a Chinese buffet as far as Chinese buffets go. It's pretty good. Is it five stars now no buffet ever will be five stars but it's definitely a four star buffet. I highly recommend going. read more

Went with friends on New Year's Day, very clean and busy Chinese food buffet. Almost everything imaginable on the buffet lines. From the traditional Chinese food selection to roast beef and pork loin ( cut your own) , sushi, fresh fruit, desserts, and ice cream. The waitresses come by occasionally to check on you. The restaurant is in the middle of a large strip mall with a Publix nearby so there's plenty of parking. Will be going back to try some more of the delicious food offered at a later date! read more

This place has changed so much over the years, and not for the better. The quality of the food is poor, the preparation is subpar, and the table service is lacking. At the end, we were even told "NO TIP??" Our server never checked on us for refills unless we specifically asked, and didn't bother to see if everything was okay. Yet, they seemed very concerned about the tip. The hibachi chef was rude, made the food sloppy with too much sauce, resulting in a soupy mess, and carelessly threw our plates on the counter. The meats at the hibachi station were not kept at the correct temperature and were sitting in bloody water and chicken water, which was unappetizing. They should at least drain the water. Many of the items on the buffet were stale, old, and cold. We were there for about 35 minutes, and during that time, they never restocked the lettuce at the salad bar or the shrimp, both of which had clearly been sitting out for hours. To top it all off, the fish pond reeked of hydrogen sulfide and desperately needed cleaning. The buffet is $16.99 per person, plus drinks, which is reasonable. However, the table service was non-existent, and our server received a zero tip, which upset her. This is my honest opinion, and I suggest you visit the place to judge for yourself. Buffet city is an all you can eat Chinese buffet bar. You have plenty of options and everyone can get what they want. They do have a sushi bar and a hibachi grill however, the only reason for the four stars is because of the cross contamination as I am allergic to shellfish, they have their chicken and shellfishvery close and sometimes overlapping. read more

If you've never been, this place is huge. The buffet itself is also large with a large variety of choices. Hibachi grill is also available. We were seated promptly, and drinks arrived quickly. Most all items on the bar were replenished regularly. Sushi bar had someone making fresh and putting it out constantly as well. Overall food was good. The only thing that really bothers me is that parents let small children go up and make their own plates. Sanitation wise this is not good because I watch children dropping the tongs picking them up and putting them back in the food picking up the food with their hands, licking their fingers and still reaching for things on the bar. This isn't the restaurants fault. Maybe implement an age restriction. Like 10 and under have to be accompanied by a parent, something like that to help with this sort of thing. As we walked in we were warmly greeted by Joel. He seated us in a nice comfortable booth and proceeded to get us our drinks. Joel explained the buffet and told us seniors get the happy hour price between 2 to 4pm. Angela was our server and was very nice and friendly. She was always on point for the refills. The best part of the lunch buffet was the polish sausage link, the Lotus seed buns, as well as the sesame balls. The sausage was very juicy and that's why I took the the entire sausage link. It was that good. The Lotus seed buns and sesame balls were nice nice morsels of sweetness. Just to add they had the best egg Foo young with gravy. It was definitely restaurant quality! We were in town visiting Legoland and Peppa World for a few days and came for dinner twice! why? because we have a super picky eater who would bankrupt us if we went to any other place, trying to order dishes to suit him so hence we usually default to buffets. plus we like buffet experiences in general anyway. given that we're used to buffets, this one did seem to lack in terms of options. their pricing policy for kids is based age. the prices were fair, did not break the bank but I would say I've definitely had better. there were some hits, and some misses. what I found interesting was there were about 5 varieties of cooked chicken. oysters were fresh/decent as well, but I would say bland and flavorless. I didnt love the sushi much but they were really nice about giving me sheets of seaweed for my picky little eater. their dessert, more specifically the ice cream was the most variety I have seen at a buffet. read more

Everything was splendid, Everything was Clean, the food was staying hot, Service was kind and attentive, but not pushy. Sushi was Generally very Qualified by eye, but some looked dull and couldn't see the rice grains so just check for quality. Food was good, water didn't taste like chemicals. I have eaten here several times at this point, and I have to say that it's been nothing short of awesome every single time! We usually eat lunch because it's cheaper, but tonight decided to go for dinner. They've raised the prices a dollar or so since the last time we visited. They had so much to choose from for dinner! I really enjoyed the fried fish. I noticed that they also had crawfish, roast beef, ham, fried whole prawns (which I also enjoyed), and several different styles of Chinese chicken. I tried some (of what I was assuming is) honey shrimp and it was the best I've ever eaten. It was tempura fried and tossed in a creamy/sweet white sauce. So yum! As always, our waitress was so sweet and kept our drinks filled! I can't wait to bring my dad back in a few weeks when he comes to visit from out of town. I know he will love it just as much as I do! I tell everyone, most buffet food is gross, but here you'll be sure to clean your whole plate! read more

BC in Winter Haven has been my go to place for over a decade. The food is good and the price is right. I have watched the prices increase over the years. It was 7.99 when I first went there and now is 12.99 (adult senior buffet for lunch). Drinks use to be included, but last year they stopped that and now a drink (soda) is an additional +-$2.49 I understand that prices go up and I accept that. What I don't understand or agree with is what happened yesterday.... My wife and I ate lunch there and when we left we each had one ice cream bar. It was +100 degrees outside and we planned to enjoy our ice cream on the ride home. We were abruptly stopped by the hostess and told that "You can't take that out of here" What? When I questioned her she said that some people have been taking four or five ice cream bars when they left and that has ruined it for everyone" Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. Here's why: 1. Why didn't they address the problem with the "people" that created the problem? 2. Why create a rule for everyone when you should have done your due diligence in the first place? 3. If you believe this is so aggregious why don't you post signs that say "All food must be consumed in the restaurant?" 4. How do you intend to enforce this new and unposted rule? Will you now check my wife's pocketbook? How about my pockets? 5. Would it be better (acceptable) if I took one bite out of eight ice cream bars? How would you enforce that? You created an unfortunate unnecessary confrontation with a customer. You made a big thing out of nothing. If you are going to enforce this you have the responsibility to post signs, inform customers BEFORE they come in and treat customers correctly. Hopefully you will take corrective actions. Initially I thought I would never patronize you again, but now, after writing this, I am curious to see if anything changes or even if I get a response. If you have a group of people who want a wildly different choice for a meal then this is where you need to go. The choices are many and varied. I was very pleased to see chicken wings on the menu as the chicken wing place was all out of them. Honestly if more of the dishes were piping hot when I went to the buffet I would've given 4 stars but unfortunately a few of my choices were warm and not piping hot like I would like them to be. We've seen the billboard for this restaurant for years but today is our 1st visit. We passed an older couple in the parking lot on the way in and they love it. The buffet is huge, with all of the Chinese staples and a decent salad bar, sushi buffet with sushi chef right there, a Mongolian grill and long dessert bar with ice cream. We all sampled multiple things on the menu and there wasn't anything that we didn't enjoy. Even the chicken items on the menu had some decent quality chicken. Service taking used plates and refilling drinks was quick and friendly. This far, this is our favorite Chinese buffet around Central Florida. We will be back. read more

The good: hibachi done well, and pleasantly (unlike Ichiban, in Kissimmee). Most of the fried items. The buttered shrimp. Service is good, compared to competition. Price is better than many places. The not so good: many items are overly-sweet. Pot stickers usually dry/cold/old. Fried rice isn't great. Some food stays out too long and just gets piled on top. For the price you really can't go wrong. They have a wide selection, well-stocked, and the sushi was impressive for a buffet. Most AYCE Chinese buffets with sushi usually offer pretty shady or basic rolls, but these were way better than the other sushi place I visited in Winter Haven (see my other reviews). The restaurant has been recently redecorated and I really loved the koi pond (I didn't want to obstruct the walkway by stopping for a photo). The selections offered are excellent. Sushi, standard Chinese buffet fare, Mongolian grill, American, and the biggest dessert selection that I have personally seen at a buffet since Reno. Clean atmosphere, good food, and low prices.
