Very unsanitary and not clean. As other reviewers gave pointed out, it's a construction zone. My tech was on the phone the entire time, barely paying any attention to my nails. It did not seem like anything was sanitized, the towels used to rest my hands on were dirty, and the floor had garbage and dirt on it. I wanted to give this place a chance but I will not return. I want to start off with the positives-they had a fantastic color selection and my nails looked pretty decent. I wish I could come back for those two reasons but.... I got a dip manicure with removal of a previous menicure from a different salon. Upon arrival, theté were only two other clients being served. I was sat within 10 minutes and it went downhill from there. First, my natural nail was slightly damaged due to a poor technique during removal. Then, my nails were soaked for almost an hour while they catted to the other two clients. In total, I was here for almost 3 hours for just this manicure and walked out with some nice nails but very damaged and my skin peeling for the following week after the extensive soaking. After years of getting dip manicures, I can also confirm the technique used didn't seem the most correct. This led to chipping and broken nails very very quickly. I also did not like that the foot baths had no lines (I didn't get a pedicure myself but saw one of the other clients get one). Maybe that's personal preference though. The pedicure was fine, though it bothered me that they don't use liners for the foot tub, until I got home and a part of my toe nail broke off. It seemed like she cut my nail too short with clippers and not all the way so she then painted over it. When I made my appointment, I asked specifically for nail art hoping that I'd get someone who's good at it considering I'd seen other photos on google from them that came out great. If you're not good at nail art, please be honest. I'd rather get a plain color than a design done poorly. I was so disappointed with how my nails came out. They chipped the same night (though they're no chip) and there's what looks like dirt in the paint on one nail. Also, the polish is in my cuticles. I travel a lot for work, so I get to see many nail salons. I recently moved to Chicago and needed a new go to place. I've never been so disappointed by the quality of work. It must have been Tony's first day, cause not only did he not understand a word I was saying, but he looked like he had no idea what he was doing. It took me an hour and 40 min for a regular mani pedi. My cuticles look worse than when I walked in. He almost cut my multiple times, but I pulled back. The polish is everywhere, his GLOOPED on the top coat. When I pointed out there were bubbles in multiple nails from a heavy top coat, he needed a translator. Second time around, he still threw on the the thickest layer of top. I'll likely be taking the color off as soon as I go home. I wish I liked this place since the other lady and the man at the counter were so nice, but there is no chance I'll be coming back. read more

Ugh why didn't I look this place up before I went! I popped in for a manicure tonight and asked if they took walk ins. The woman seemed annoyed. Leaving definitely crossed my mind but she quickly ushered me to a seat and gave me a terrible manicure in less than 5 minutes. I came here to get a mani/pedi for a special event. I wish I had gone to my usual place instead. I received my regular pedicure first. The tubs, unfortunately, are not lined and I don't think they have an autoclave there to sanitize their tools. That isn't too much of an issue. The no-chip manicure is where my experience goes south. I came in with some old polish (no-chip also) on as I tend to let my nails grow out before redoing them. The tech immediately took a dremel tool to my nail without softening the polish with some acetone. After she cleaned the old polish off, she shaped my nails fine although one of the nails was shorter than the rest (not a make or break thing), and gave me another no-chip manicure. She didn't clean the polish up so some of the thicker clumps of gel polish were set on my skin - eventually I had to try and trim them without having the polish lift off my nail. I walked out of the appointment disappointed overall. My nails have not been the same since in the worst ways possible, which is what is warranting the poor review. They're so much weaker and have continued to break - my nails have almost never broken in the past unless subjected to a significant amount of trauma. There were also bubbles in the polish. The only good thing I really have to say is that we were seen quickly and the staff are nice. My tech was able to suggest a color that would complement my skin tone but I really hate the shape my nails are in now. I will not be coming here again. Ever. read more

Very unprofessional and also false. Also so much thickness left under the nail. I wish she told me from the beginning that she is not good at almond shaped french tip nail. I'm new to the Logan Square area. I came to Asia Nails as a walk in this week. I was greeted and told to look for my polish color. The colors wasn't much to choose with regular polish. However, the no chip polish has a bunch of colors. I got a pedi w/ reg polish and a full acrylic set w/ no chip and shape. I paid $75 plus tip, so $80 Pedi: I choose a yellow color. Honestly the guy did a bad job of painting my toes. The coat was uneven. He was literally scraping at the polish bottle to get it out. Weird. He never gave me any real convo. Full set: I asked for long pointed tips. He gave my natural nails a trim, cool. He seem to be in a bit of a rush, which I don't like. I need you to focus on me. The shaping came out good. The polish job was trash. I felt like he was clumping the polish on the nail but since the end came out ok I was silent. Overall: my no chip nail polish started to chip in less than a week. My toenails seem like all my old skin was not removed. The service was okay but I won't be returning. I felt like I got scammed. If you are gonna make people pay damn near $100 at least do a good job. I'll post pictures. read more

Ive had problems in the past with nail technicians either ripping my nails or just blatantly not listening to me. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Not only are they super friendly, but they do such an amazing job, Julie has helped me regain healthy nails, something I never thought possible! I usually don't leave reviews on yelp, but I have to for this place. Not sure if my experience was a freak one and if other folks are fine with regular manis and pedis, but if you read the "unrecommended reviews" section, you'll see tons of reviews from people just trying to warn others of their bad experiences all hidden for some reason. I came in because I couldn't get to my regular nail tech on time before going out of town for the holiday, and desperately needed a fill. It turns out that since my regular nail tech uses hard gel, it was extra difficult for the woman to file them down and give me a fill, but even with that misunderstanding I thought it'd be fine, just a little wonky. What wasn't ok was that the woman drilled over my cuticles with the nail file/Dremel multiple times!! Even with hard gel, there's no excuse for that. I was trying to pull away, but she literally went over them so often that I was like "is this just how it's done at other salons??" I kept on sitting there trying to justify why she was being so careless, even when a spot on my finger started to actively bleed. She kept on taking her eyes off my hands to look at the influx of people waiting to get service at the front (I had already waited an hour; they were short-staffed that day). It hurt a little bit at the time, but they mostly just looked dry afterwards. As with a lot of cuticle tears, it started to hurt more afterwards. Even today, two days later, they still hurt and are sore and tender to the touch as they heal. Other than the long wait time, there were no real red flags to me that signified this quality of service. The inside was nice, calm, lots of people chatting. I think that's why I didn't feel angry at the time, just weirded out and ready to leave. Now the anger has set in as my cuticles still hurt from the damage, and I feel dumb for passively sitting there and letting it happen :( I ultimately can't believe I paid for this fill at all. I'm almost embarrassed to face my usual nail tech when I get back to Chicago. Please don't go here. read more

My nail technician has so much knowledge she coached me how to make my toe nails healthier over the past year...other technicians had been doing a quick fix that made them unhealthy in the long term. Julie guided me back to healthy nails. Her removal of my gel nails keeps their natural health in tack. She is careful to not remove the surface more than necessary. This place isn't nearly as bad as people claim. Yes, a few years ago they looked pretty run down but they are trying to step it up. Julie, Linda and Kelly are all so sweet, you need to get to know the personalities of this sweet family. I will go to all three ladies for a manicure and eyebrow wax but Julie is my favorite. She did my nails for my wedding and she took her time with everything to make sure they were perfect. The place is great for the price. I started coming here when I was $14, and only got my nails done with the few dollars I had. It has been 12 years and no infections yet. lol I could afford to go to other places but they have been good to me and I want to be there for them. Great service, great price. I keep giving this salon a chance because I live in the area, but I'm literally disappointed 75% of the time. The last two times I visited, I was taken care of by men who each did not know what they were doing. My nails were filed unevenly. Nail polish all over my skin. Vincent took care of me today and I definitely would not recommend him. He left bubbles in my no-chip manicure and I had to frequently give him tips on how to do a pedicure. I came here for SNS dip powered nails, worried that it was going to be too thick of a layer as other nail salons I have previously went to have applied, but boy was I pleasantly surprised! This was the best SNS I've ever gotten in Chicago. Not only was it a thin layer and a great application by the nail tech who goes by Kelly, it lasted forever and even when my nails grew out it still looked FAB!
