Now let me start off. My dad is a chef and my parents have cooked chinese food for me my whole life. This, this is The only place for me to go when I want Chinese take out. It isn't really there for dine in at all, people usually grab food to go. The restaurant inside is very barren and there isn't much in terms of decoration for the customer, rather there are a lot of traditional Chinese decorations for good luck. There is one table where people can go and sit down and that's about it, it's usually for people waiting for an order. So for a take out place it isn't bad. The food. The food blows everything out of the water. I've ordered several different things before but nothing quite beats the number 10. The number 10 is myself and all my friends go to. They serve you a generous helping of general Tao chicken, 5 chicken balls, half a box of chicken fried rice and an egg roll for about $12. And I always share this with my boyfriend. The portion is HUGE. Completely worth it for your money. If you wanted to order the general Tao chicken by itself, they always include a small portion of rice for you to go with it. Now first, the general Tao chicken is always made so well. The sauce is sweet and tangy with a hint of spicy. And somehow, the chicken always retains its crunchy exterior. The egg rolls are always crispy and the inside rarely disappoints. After first bite, you want to have more and more (I usually order an extra few egg rolls). They always give you a big jar of plum sauce to go with it. The chicken balls are actual chicken. It isn't like other places where they fill up on the batter, you can actually taste and enjoy the chicken. The chicken fried rice itself is usually pretty standard and average with large chunks of chicken in it. All the counter people speak English quite well and in December before the year starts, they have free calendars! read more

Chinese food is either hit or miss in Ottawa. Sure if you go to Somerset, you'll hit the cream of the crop. What if I told you the best "Canadian" style Chinese food was off of Prince of Wales? I was surprised as well. Again, I'm not talking about dim sum, but rather the egg rolls, general taos chicken, beef and broccoli as well as chicken balls. This is some of the finest in the city. Not too greasy, full of flavour, excellent price point and above all general portions. read more

This is the only place I get my take out Chinese food. We got the won ton soup, spring rolls, chicken wings, s&s ribs, shrimp and cashews, scallops and veggies and finally chicken fried rice. All the food was excellent. We all enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend Asia Garden for Chinese take-out. read more

Stay away from this place!!! We ordered Won Ton Special and Beef with broccoli, both dishes were infested with tiny bugs that clearly came from the broccoli. Every flower we opened was full of them. We arrived at midnight from a 32 hour travel, very hungry. As soon as I opened the lid of the soup, I saw two small bugs floating on top. Disgusting! read more

I've ordered delivery from Asia Garden a few times. They have many of your standard Chinese dishes, and they also have combination plates for one person, or dinners for two to six people. The first time I ordered from them, my friend and I got a couple of spring rolls and egg rolls, their House Special Fried Rice, beef with flat noodles and black bean sauce, and moo she beef, which already came with six pancakes, but we ordered some more. All of the dishes were very flavorful and were delivered quickly. Their dishes are really inexpensive and have large portions, so you really get your bang for your buck. They even throw in free chicken fried rice and chicken wings if your order is over a certain amount. The family dinners include a couple of egg rolls, at least three dishes, and some almond cookies. Their combination plates are also a really good deal, especially if you like variety. I'd recommend trying one with the garlic spare ribs! read more

Pretty good Chinese food with great portions and a reasonable price plus deals based on the amount you order. Some dishes are better than others, but even the worst I've had there is average compared to other Chinese places. It's more of a take out place, but there are a few tables if you want to eat there (though they're often taken up by people waiting for their orders). Biggest issue is that they do often mess up orders or forget items. We live down the street so when it happens, we call and they'll send someone over to bring whatever was forgotten, but it seems like if you're any further you're SOL. read more

I just moved to Ottawa, and tried this place on a friend's recommendation. The first time I ordered, there was a rock in the Chop Suey. An actual bit of limestone rock, about the size of your pinky fingernail. Normally, I'd axe a place after that, but my friend insisted we try again, as that can't be a common occurrence. The next two orders in a row, they forgot an item each time. I'm sorry, but the place is dirty, they mess up the orders, and I once got a rock in my food. How many chances do you really need to give a place? I'm never going back, and will tell everyone else to stay away. read more

My second review on yelp ever goes to my second favourite restaurant of all times! I'm surprised it's only got 3 reviews and it's been open for years. They have the best Chinese take out. Well actually they have the best fried chicken. The spicy chicken wings are the best without a question! Spicy and juicy, always with the perfect crunch on the outside. They put some garlic and green onion in there as well which is great! Other things like chowmein, mapo tofu are also among the best I've had. read more
