Ng's Cuisine is one of my Chinese go-to restaurants in Ottawa over the past 2 years. They serve authentic chinese dishes and have staff that speak Cantonese. One of their servers are also from GTA so it feels nice to have someone from my city! They stay open slightly later than others, and their food has always been fresh. I highly recommend their sizzling plates, I've tried a few of them and they're all pretty good! A nice aroma and presentation to the table that will get you salivating a little. Still haven't found a place that's 100% GTA quality, but this can fill the craving while you're in Ottawa.

My family and I had takeout here recently and I can't say that I was too impressed. They forgot one of our dishes, the food was overall meh in my opinion, and it wasn't ready until 20 minutes after they said that it would be ready. I called in my order, which was Dinner for 5B (BBQ Pork Wonton Soup, 5 Spring Rolls, Moo She Chicken with Pancakes, Pineapple Goo Loo Pork, Spicy Beef with Vegetables, General Tao's Chicken, Shrimp with Snow Peas and Young Chow Fried Rice) $69.95. They said it would be ready in 30 minutes (at 11:50am). I get there at 11:55am and the place was PACKED. There were people standing around everywhere waiting for a table. Staff and customers were yelling, screaming and pointing. It was a zoo! An older lady told me that my order wasn't ready yet but I could pay right away. I was fine with that because I didn't want to spend any additional time in there. So I paid and then stood there for like 15 minutes and finally the lady said that my order was ready and handed me 2 plastic bags all tied up. I grabbed my order and bolted out of there. It wasn't until I got home that I realized that they didn't give me any Moo She Chicken. They gave me the pancakes, but no Moo She Chicken to eat it with. I guess I should have called them to see how they were going to resolve the issue, but I was not in the mood to go back to the restaurant (they don't do delivery), so I just let it go. Now I thought that since the place was so popular the food must be amazing, right? Wrong! The BBQ Pork slices in the Wonton Soup were really fatty. The wontons themselves were ok, but there weren't many of them. The soup was mostly broth and cabbage. The spring rolls were really greasy and mostly wrapper, cabbage and onions. There were tiny specks of ground pork and some slivers of carrot. The pancakes (sans Moo She Chicken) were dry and tasteless. The Pineapple Goo Loo Pork was ok, but the pork was really fatty. The sauce was a nice sweet and sour sauce and there were chunks of fresh pineapple (not canned) though. The Spicy Beef with Vegetables was one of the better dishes. The beef was lean and tender. The vegetables were good (broccoli, carrots, celery, onions and bell peppers). The dish was mildly spicy. The General Tao's Chicken was good. The sauce was sweet and tangy. The chicken was tender, but some pieces were too fatty and some pieces had way too much batter. The Shrimp with Snow Peas had good sized shrimp, but the shrimp seemed under-cooked and this dish was too oily and greasy. The Young Chow Fried Rice was dry and tasted like old rice. After eating the food, I was super thirsty all day. I ate here when it was called Lichee View and I liked it then. Apparently it's still the same owners and chef, so I have no idea what's going on, but I did not enjoy the food at Ng's Cuisine. However, I must be in the minority because the place was packed and it is apparently very popular. Maybe if you eat in the food is better than if you get takeout. I don't know. However, I will not be going back to find out :(

My go to place for dimsum! The best part is that it's not in Chinatown so the driving isn't terrible! They only have a small parking lot so I would recommend getting there as it opens because the parking lot & tables fill up fast. I love that they still push the carts around! The food is good and the service as well, though sometimes the staff forgets to bring more water or tea around to the tables. I'd recommend going for dimsum especially if you're not a fan of driving in Chinatown!

This place is usually busy when we come by so they must be doing something right, although I find the food just average, nothing spectacular. Good option when you don't want to drive into Chinatown. They offer a late night snack menu.

BF and I decided on going out for Chinese on Saturday night. His parents often come here so we decided to give it a try. I would have given this a 4 stars rating if it hadn't been for the incredibly long wait. We were waiting for about 15 minutes for a table, this is reasonable and we were not bothered by it. But once we sat at our table, it took quite a while before the waiter came to get our order (which we had written on a piece of paper). We didn't get our food for almost 1 hour after that!! I don't remember when I ever waited this long for plates of food to come to our table anywhere in Ottawa. We ordered: Shrimp shu mai (dim sum), sweet&sour pork, sautéed veggies with cashew, shrimgs in lobster sauce and steamed rice. No complaints about the food, everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. I especially enjoyed the breading of the sweet&sour pork, it was very delicious and much better than any type of fried pork I'd had previously at other restaurants. The shrimp in lobster sauce was a first time for me, but I enjoyed it. Everything was seasoned well! The portions were large, so we took all the leftovers home and had them for lunch the next day. The prices for the portions are great! I would come back, perhaps on a day that isn't as busy, to see if the wait time is any better.

Authentic Chinese food that tastes good. We came in 11AM on a Sunday and had no issues with the speed of service. They were serving fresh dim sum with plenty of variety. We ordered steamed lobster with garlic, soft shell crab and shrimp fried rice. The prices were high for the value. The lobster was $30 and I wish they gave larger lobster chunks since we barely got any meat. However, the flavor was still great (although the garlic was a little overpowering). The soft shell crab was our favourite and it was extremely tasty. It was cooked really well and we loved the combination of spices. Again, for $20 for the dish, we wish more was provided. The shrimp fried rice was the biggest disappointment because it was overcooked and you could taste the burnt rice from the pan. Overall, these are definitely not Toronto prices but it's the best you can get in Ottawa for good tasting authentic Chinese food.

We would recommend this place! My Chinese wife and I just came home from dinner at Ng's Cuisine. We both felt very satisfied on quality, quantity and price of the food. We had a good dinning experience. This place was recommended to us by a friend who is also in a mixed marriage. Her husband is ethnic German and he doesn't like Chinese food, except for this place. We found this restaurant to be very authentic. My wife would describe it as Cantonese style food (southern China). They also have Dim Sum which again is a Cantonese / Hong Kong thing. Saturday night dinner the place was packed with a waiting line. Still got a table for two in decent time and the food came very quickly. This place is good for larger groups of 5 or more as most of the tables are this size with a large lazy susan in the center. The food was very comfortable, good flavor without relying on using a lot of salt. We did not notice any MSG. Neither of us felt thirsty after leaving which is a good sign and no heavy oils in the food. My wife only thought two of the dishes used too much sugar, but it was still enjoyable. Portions are large, we ordered one of the "dinner for two" combos and we have enough for lunch tomorrow. I noticed the portions going to other tables were also large, good for sharing with a group. The dinner for two was $31 after tax and this included tea, a soup, two main dishes, big bowl of rice and desert. It was very good value for money. The dinning room was nice, clean and well put together with just enough decoration. One entire wall was a mural of the famous painting "Along the River during the Qingming Festival" from the Song Dynasty. Personally speaking, to have traditional art in the space added to the authentic feel of the food. There was no music played in the space, but this was good as people talking was quite loud in the small room. Only one TV displaying ads mostly in Chinese with no sound. Two things I could fault the place for was not enough parking. Its a small restaurant but still many people were parked next door in the DQ parking lot. This place is also not wheel chair accessible, as there were single steps at the front door and the washrooms where in the basement. I think we will be back to this place to try more dishes.

The place was packed. Food was good and good price. Just the seating was not hygienic.
