    Cheese balls appetizer
    John M.

We were in the area looking for a place to eat (a little late on a Thursday night) and found Asia de Lima. Due to the recent power outage, it took a while for them to make some of the dishes (and they couldn't make any pizzas), but overall it didn't matter too much....and, it was helpful that they warned us in advance that it could take an hour or so to prepare certain dishes. Here are some thoughts: - We started with some of the specialty cocktails they were offering. The Pisco Sour was really good, but a bit sweeter for my taste than I was hoping for. - Given the situation with the power, we opted to start with some items our server said could be served more quickly and decided that the three of us would just share everything. Our first item was the cheese balls appetizer and then we had the ceviche. We're glad we started with these because both dishes were excellent...don't underestimate the cheese balls...they are so good with the guava sauce on top! - Eventually our Churrasco Tiritas came out to our table, prepared with the Salsa Setas Curry and with the Assoz del Chef on the side. Wow, wow, wow! This was an amazing dish...so good, that I practically wanted to lick the plate! - Since it was so late by this time, we didn't have any dessert. - Service overall was pretty good, although our drinks sat empty for a long time and we finally had to flag him over to get some water. Bottom line: Asia de Lima has amazing food and the place is very small and cozy...I'm not sure if they are ever very speedy, but that seems to be the norm in Puerto Rico. We would go back!

Wonderful flavors - wide selection of of a melange of Peruvian, Thai & Italian. Ample potions -delightful desserts and impressive cocktail/beer/wines. Reasonably priced. Slow, inconsistent service but conversation with dinner companions was helpful during long pauses. Lovely interior and quiet....

So tasty and unique dishes. Their twist on a carbonera was delicious! Love the guava cheese balls.

This was a fantastic culinary experience! The fusion of the different Asian, Peruvian and Italian cuisines didn't seem like they'd work, but the concoctions were fab! We tried the cheese balls, Mongolian Beef with Chef's rice, Peanut chicken with feta and mozzarella and penne pasta, cranberries and pecans, and the ginger salmon with risotto. Superb! I was also excited to see the Pisco Sour on the menu -I hadn't had one in 20 years and a smoother sour you won't find anywhere! We topped everything off with the flan, which was silky smooth. Best food we had during our week in Puerto Rico! The owner/chef stopped by for a nice chat and Diego our server did a great job. Highly recommend.

We love this place! Presentation of the pyramid rice is so fun, the flavor is great, and interesting fusions. We love the chaufa, salmon, and aji de gaina

The food was fantastic, as were the cocktails. I had cheese balls appetizer, the Carbonara Thai and the Pisco Sour. Portions were large, enough to take home for lunch the next day. The decor & ambiance was nice & intimate. The reason I gave it a 4 star was getting the door open. It was difficult and I was sitting near the door so I saw EVERYONE struggle.

Service from staff and food were amazing! Love the ambiance! Will definitely be back again !

Nasty ass lomo saltado (1.5/10). Soggy potatoes. Salty thick gravy. Rubbery meat. waited 50 mins for this

Like someone else said, tasted like canned food. Salty canned food with the added bonus of an incredibly long wait time to not only enter, but even in waiting to receive the food. I was in the restaurant with 5 other customers and i waited 50 mins for some disgusting lomo saltado. Never again.

After a previous bad experience Wilmer, the owner, invited me back to dine as his guest. I had only one day left in Puerto Rico but I'm SO GLAD that I took him up on the offer. He walked me through the menu and selected the Ceviche and Salmon PeruThai. The Ceviche was a pile of fresh, lump fish in a lime mixture. It was SO good I almost ordered another! Then there was the Salmon. Perfectly crisp with a sweet sauce and sitting on a bed of root mash (like mashed potatoes but with root vegetables indigenous to Puerto Rico. Talk about a flavor explosion!! I also had a couple of their mule cocktails, delicious and they're not shy with their pours. If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you, Wilmer! Looking forward to dining at Asia de Lima again.

An Italian restaurant with no bread?) not a great start. Having said all that, the rest for our food was amazing! The arancini and the eggplant were exquisite. The taste of the savory and salty of the duck melting into the tangy sweet of the pear and port wine reduction was something I could've never expected. Plus, the ravioli squares were browned hard and perfect and topped with a succulent dollop of truffle butter. The sweet port wine reduction elevated the savoriness of the pasta and really went well with the crunch at the end, which rounded out the bite. 20/10!! My cocktail was also delicious and perfectly balanced! Genuinely can't wait to come back here.

It was still pretty, but I wished they did a bit more for the table back there to match the rest of the gorgeous interior. And as the cashier/register is also there by the back table, we had a lot of waiters moving in and out of our space to complete chores/tasks for other tables, which occasionally took away from the ambiance and immersion of the restaurant as our table felt like a prime hub. Again, this was only an experience for this table in the back, but something to note. Regardless, my group ordered two appetizers, a bottle of wine, and six entrees to get a full spread and taste of this nicer Italian dining. The Italian Sausage and Polenta appetizer was phenomenal - deliciously buttery, smooth, and a springy texture I've never experienced before. The bruschetta platter was good for what it was, but not stand out. I ordered the carbonara, and was disappointed. It was incredibly salty while lacking any other savory, spiced flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the salty pork and then further salted sauce overpowered anything else. I tried to salvage it with chili flakes and a lot of black pepper, but nothing could give it the rich flavor I was looking forward to or expecting. The ribeye, though, was phenomenal. Excellently executed, rich, juicy, perfect. Worth the money if that's in your budget. The other dishes were all delicious as well, and you can't go wrong with ordering any of them. I wouldn't recommend the carbonara, but I have seen other reviews rating it highly, so maybe I just got a hiccup this time. The waiters were kind and attentive when we asked for them. They seemed quite busy a lot of times, and it took a few rounds of them rush-leaving/coming back after we ask for us to be able to order cocktails or appetizers. It was also a busy night, so completely understandable. But overall, a really nice experience, and a beautiful date spot.

Both were excellent, but the Chorizo al Vino was my absolute favorite--absolutely delicious! For my entrée, I ordered the chicken lasagna. I expected chunks of chicken, but it was made with shredded chicken, and wow--it was incredible. The flavor was outstanding, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals of our trip. My husband ordered the beef lasagna, which was also made with shredded beef rather than traditional ground beef. He absolutely loved it. Our friends ordered the Milanesa de Berenjena and the Milanesa de Pollo with a side of gnocchi, and both raved about their meals as well. Since nearly every table seemed to be ordering pizza, we knew we had to try one. We ordered a small pizza for the table, and each of us had a slice. Now we understand why they're known for their pizza--it was fantastic! A special shoutout to our server, Rouil Rodz, who was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you.
