All Ashore at Seaside! I had a good experience booking this place for Saturday through Wednesday. Was it pricey? Yes, but I wanted to fully immerse myself in seaside for half a week by the beach. As always, be sure to check ratings not only on Yelp but also on other sites, weighing the pros and cons. LOCATION: You're just a two-minute walk from the beach, which is the biggest perk! Everything from dining to shopping is within walking distance. The hotel has its own parking lot, but make sure to display your hotel window tag to avoid getting towed. AMENITIES & SERVICE: Every day, there's complimentary coffee and tea available downstairs. The lobby features board games, a small bar, and lounging areas where you can relax or get some work done. Next to the lobby, there's a heated pool (it's a bit smaller than it appears in photos). You can also borrow bikes to explore the town--just ask at the front desk. Room service even sent me a text each morning to check if I needed housekeeping, which was nice. ROOM: We stayed in Room 22, located near the Ashore sign. It had a spacious layout with a king-size bed, perfect for two. The room featured a fireplace with wood, a couple of lounge chairs, a coffee table, a mini fridge (just big enough for small snacks), a TV, and standard hotel bathroom amenities. I appreciated the space, although the walls were a bit thin, so we could hear some noise from our neighbor and the downstairs when people slam the door... Overall, our room was clean and very comfortable.

I booked Ashore based on sustainability practices, location, and amenities. The pool was great- saltwater, warm, great for kids. It was really nice to have a sauna as well. They deliver complimentary breakfast to your room as well. Unfortunately, 2 days into our 4 day stay, the roof started leaking into our room. Totally understand things unexpectedly happen, however, the process of trying to resolve this was extremely frustrating. We got confusing, conflicting information (such as, you can stay in this room for a "discount" but no one could tell me what the discount was, then later we were told we actually had to leave the room). In the end we were given two options- 1) move from a Suite with 3 beds into a room with 1 queen bed and a sofa trundle and receive a 10% discount on their usual rate for the queen room (which was much higher than the rate posted online through their website) or 2) they would "let" us leave without using the two remaining nights on our reservation and not charge us for the remaining unused nights! (on the leaking room we were forced to leave) When I asked if they would consider a larger discount given the inconvenience and disruption, or a partial refund if we end up cutting our trip short because of this, I was told I could wait two hours for the manager to arrive at 4 pm to ask and see if she would grant a more substantial discount. It's important to note that the front desk staff have been texting and calling the manager throughout this incident but would not ask about this and said there was no way to get this information sooner. We decided to leave at this point. The manager, Luz, did contact me later but refused to give any partial discount or credit for this incident, because she stated there were no issues in the room the first two nights. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Ashore given this experience.

Fireplaces like this are in each room.

The Ashore Hotel was VERY highly rated on Booking.com and Expedia. It's OK, but it did not live up to the reviews. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, so it met my basic needs. It's very close to the beach and the promenade, which is also a plus. Hard-surface flooring, which is practical but not very cozy. Decor was very beutral/industrial. The only pop of color in the room was one red pillow. And there was no closet, and no door to close off the toilet and shower area. However, although the pictures and room descriptions all show fireplaces in every room, there was no way to turn it on - no switch, no button, etc., and no instructions in the room. There was no telephone in the room, and there was nothing to indicate how to contact someone with a problem after hours to report a problem. (The office closed at 10 pm, and I realized this was a problem at 11 pm.) To finish on a good note, though, the staff I dealt with were very nice. I had to check out very suddenly a day early due to a medical emergency at home, and they offered (unasked) to refund my last night's stay. I really appreciated that! So overall, they're not a bad place to stay, but not quite as good as they seemed.

Pill or candy my daughter found and was eating.

We regretfully had our first bad experience at Ashore. The first night our daughter found and started eating a pill or candy found on the ground. The same night my daughter tripped and fell onto the corner of the bed which had an exposed nail, causing a bad injury to her nose. Both incidents where reported to the front desk. After emailing them they applied a 10% discount...

There aren't the words to describe how wonderful this hotel is! They were so hospitable, and they were completely willing to help make my husband's birthday extra special. I ordered add on packages, and I had special requests to make personal touches to our stay. My husband absolutely LOVED opening the door to the room and seeing rose pedals on the bed, chocolates, candles and a birthday card with a personalized message. The room was spotlessly clean, and the decor was so unique, updated, and COMFORTABLE! They offered complementary boardgames, flavored water, and cruiser bicycles, in addition to the pool, sauna and a little fire fit area... and it was SO REASONABLY priced! There is also an adorable bar and restaurant with a fabulous menu. This boutique hotel provides an experience that there is no way you could ever get from any of the surrounding hotels. I won't ever stay anywhere else when I come to Seaside. The location is also amazing! Tucked away in the middle of it all, it is located right next to the Seaside Carousel Mall, and about a block from the ocean. Shopping, the ocean beach, dining and activities surround the hotel. I have no idea how I missed this gem before. I can't say enough about it. They have covered all of the possible considerations for an amazing getaway!

Wow what a great rustic modern renovated motel! I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Super clean,m & comfortable & love the decor. Only stayed one night as we passed thru Seaside, very happy I chose this hotel. Decent amenities on site for the price- Free wifi, free parking, cute outdoor firepit, small heated pool & sauna, & bar/ coffee shop. Also loved the in room extra touches- mini fridge, bathrobes, & delicious smelling toiletries. Bed was comfy, shower was super hot & spacious and room was pretty quiet despite the hotel being pretty booked & lots of dogs staying there. I really liked the rustic modern look of this room- so pretty & relaxing!

Check in: awesome. Fast. Friendly. Free coffee and tea. Bar with wine and beers. They sell food Pool is saline and heated. The pool room was warm. There's a sauna and a shower. Towels were provided. We took down our bath robes to walk back to the room with. You can't have drinks in the pool room, but they do have a bar edge on the outside where you can have a drink. Rooms: A fireplace is in every room. My room also had a fridge. The room was big and clean. Loved the look and smell of wood. The king size bed was comfortable and the pillows were heavenly. The bathroom: The toiletries smell like lavender. I loved the rain shower head. It had great water pressure and felt great after a long day. There's a community microwave and ice machine on the first floor. They also have fire pit outside where you can sit around and enjoy the evening. In the Maine lobby, you can rent bikes, movies and games. They have a laundry facility. Parking was not a problem and it was free. This place is about a 15-20 min drive from cannon beach.

Suite Plus- kitchenette view to living room.

It's hard to find a place great for a toddler and hipster too... My 3 old cried when we left she wanted to stay. Highlights: salt pool (super warm -we were there during a horrible cold Gale Storm, the water was so cozy), board games, nice toiletries, free tea and coffee, sauna, access to all attractions and having a room with bunk beds. The staff was helpful (let us use their plates when the take out forgot them). Overall we'd go back again! Caveat (I don't know all the Oregon coastal towns) but the town is a little 1950's carnival carny vibe- not as "hip" as Astoria but we kinda liked it that way. A few things we didn't get to use, but they seemed great; the bikes and s'mores for the firepit ( it was too rainy to use them). If it is great place to stay in a intense Gale Storm in January- then I am sure it is extra wonderful in the warmer months.

Our Bengal cat was cozy and content with the open floor space.

The room design was so open and warm. The location was perfect and walkable to Seaside. The sauna, after a day in wetsuits at Ecola St Park, really hit the spot. loved it.

The entire town gives off major retro vibes which is right up our alley but back to the hotel itself. The highlight was most definitely the location itself and having a patio to soak up some morning sun while doing some bird watching or enjoying a book out there while your 3 year old takes a nap (if you're lucky). The facilities themselves were a bit dated. Hallways, elevator, pool, etc. A nice feature was the "fire" pits outside that activate around sunset. The cable as well was quite confusing and they didn't even have a normal guide channel. Small gripe, I know but you try navigating 150 channels blind trying to find Bluey for your cranky toddler. The continental breakfast was very middling to poor along with the coffee being weak (sadly). If they were a bit better value maybe somewhere along the lines of $100 a night they might merit 4 stars. They earn the 3 however primarily due to the location itself, the immensely powerful pressure from the shower and the aforementioned balcony and view.

She came back to the inn and rented us a remote room in another building. Our mistake was not checking out the room before hand and just taking it. It was an interesting two story old duplex. Old as in interesting and quirky. I loved that it had a kitchen and couldn't imagine what it was like to live there back in the day. Anyway the bedroom is upstairs - very steep short stairs and the only bathroom is downstairs. As I am of an age where I need to get up at least once a night to use the facilities, I didn't feel safe walking down the stairs half awake. Thank goodness the couch was very comfortable downstairs. While checking out the space there was a door across the hall from the bedroom about 2 feet above the ground. We opened the door and was surprised to see another bedroom - there was a little ladder inside that would have allowed an easy climb into the room. Breakfast was in the main building, just help yourself to drinks or wrapped bakery items. Also yogurt and other goodies.

We finally made a reservation in February for a September stay lasting three days. It cost over $400 a night with taxes and fees. First, the good: Location. You're right on the Prom. Our room faced the beach and we could see the turnaround just a block away. Easy walking distance to Broadway's shops and restaurants. Our room was on the first floor and sitting on the patio was cool, even with all the attention you'll get from passersby on the Prom. Big jetted tub in the bathroom. There was plenty of hot water to fill it and it worked great. Nice big TV. Fifty inch screen, wall-mounted. Cable with multiple remotes was confusing, but this is usually the case with most hotels. Fairly easy access to an HDMI input on the back, so if you pack the right cables you can use your laptop to bring your streaming services from home. Nice big king size bed. Must have been fairly new. Fireplace with remote. Fake of course, but you could use it with or without heat. Mini kitchen was convenient. But there was a LOT of bad: After our first night, my wife was horrified to discover something awful on her side of the bed. The sheets, lower and upper, were hideously contaminated with some nasty filth. We don't know whether it was feces or blood, but it sure was gross! My wife is in the hospitality industry and went across the street to the office to demand a refund for our first night's stay. At first they only refunded about half the money, but before we left my wife went after them again and we got close to a full refund for one night. This is the only reason you won't see pictures of the filth here, although we have them. You would think they would thoroughly clean the room between guests, especially at $400 a night, but that is clearly not the case. Yuck! The room was fairly cramped, probably because this hotel was built before king size beds were common. Our room was on the ground floor, and although noise from the rooms on either side was not an issue, you could hear every step taken by the occupants on the floor above. And their dog. Leave your damn dog at home! Parking is weird and somewhat limited. I won't attempt to explain it here but it was a minor nuisance. Still a nuisance nevertheless. If you have a small car or SUV it's probably not an issue. The small refrigerator was very difficult to open or close, with the door dragging heavily against the carpet. The coffee maker didn't work, and flooded the countertop when used. My wife got them to replace it. The bathroom fan didn't work, which was frustrating. We reported this to the front desk and they sent a kid out with a ladder as we were leaving for a little while. When we got back, it still didn't work, and there was no further follow-up. The overall condition of the hotel is not great. The carpet wasn't terribly worn out but was far from new. The furniture was very old and worn. All the doorframes were worn out, loose and rather insecure. They use plain old fashioned keys, and will not issue more than one key per room. Another nuisance. The door to the patio was difficult to open, close, and lock. The screen door wouldn't stay on its track. I give them a pass on this, as it's an issue for every hotel we've stayed in on the Oregon coast, what with the salty air. Standing on the Prom, you can see how rusty the roof is. This is an OLD hotel. Its many problems will only be solved by a major remodel, or knocking it down and rebuilding from scratch. That work is clearly overdue. Would we ever stay here again? Hell no, and especially not at $400 a night. There are lots of hotels to choose from in Seaside and you can do better than this.

At 29" high, the bed was higher than I like, however it was comfortable. The toilet height was suitable for a tall adult.  The shower is a tub with no hand holds to steady a senior citizen when getting in or out.  A non slip mat was in the tub. There was a microwave and mini fridge (no freezer compartment). There is no in room coffee maker, go downstairs to the lobby.   I appreciate an ice water dispenser in the lobby of motels which this location did not offer.  I used the ice machine and water bottle fill station in the Fitness Center - remember your key card. There is one elevator to service 4 floors and it had a tendency to move slowly.  There were many puddles of water between the pool and elevator, thus the caution signs - the type of tile in front of the elevator was smooth and slick when wet. Parking was ample. Suggestion for big name chain motels is to have some non-ADA senior adult rooms where the bathrooms are outfitted with tall toilets, grab bars in or just outside the showers - be they tub or walk-in, and 26" high beds.

Comfort, convenience, and a different side of Seaside…read more We usually stay right off the Promenade when we visit Seaside, but Rivertide Suites offered a great deal, so we decided to try something different. One helpful note: several Seaside hotels have "River" in their names, so double-check which property you booked. Staying just a block off the main drag gave us a fresh perspective on the town while keeping everything convenient. We checked into a one-bedroom suite with a kitchen, washer and dryer, and balcony. The suite was perfect for our four-night stay, with extra pillows and blankets in the closet and a jetted tub. If the tub jets do not turn on, try resetting the GFI outlet beside the tub. The only unusual feature was the refrigerator, which sat on a raised platform and protruded slightly, but it did not detract from our stay. There is a bar downstairs serving food, drinks, and desserts, along with outdoor seating overlooking the river. We were especially happy to discover the rooftop terrace, which requires an access code. It offers a wonderful view over town and was a great place to watch the sunset. Breakfast is provided downstairs and includes a nice selection of cereal, milk, juice, yogurt, coffee, tea, scones, fruit, and biscuits with gravy. The hotel also has an on-site pool, plenty of parking, and friendly staff. Another bonus of staying off Broadway was discovering Lyon's Den just a few minutes from the hotel. They served food and drinks and had live music on both Friday and Saturday. Overall, Rivertide Suites was comfortable, well equipped, and a pleasant change from our usual location near the Promenade. We enjoyed the afternoon cookies and the complimentary Ivar's salmon chowder at 5 p.m. Breakfast was standard, though I did like the little packages of diced peaches. No non-dairy options for cereal. The biggest downside was the light in our room. The balcony door blinds let in so much light that it felt like daylight all night. There was no way to turn it off or block it, so we ended up hanging the provided bathrobes over the door and using a chair cushion to cover more of the light. It helped a little, but not much. One of the bathrobes was still soaking wet, whether from being unwashed or not fully dried. I appreciated having robes for the pool and hot tub, but a wet robe was pretty gross. The pool and hot tub are open to adults 24 hours a day, which is a nice perk, although both are quite small. We didn't use them, so I can't comment further.
