I took my 93 yr old Mom to buy a lift chair and after visiting several stores she found one that she liked in Ashley. The chair worked fine for a few months but then it malfunctioned. This is when the nightmare started-You see Mom purchased the extended warranty but the salesperson taking the service call treated her like she was a nobody. Lying at first and trying to make her believe untruths. Eventually she was told that they would contact the repairman but that my Mom would have to do the follow-up. The repairman finally called but was unable to accomodate her with appropriate hours for a 93 yr old lady. He wanted to be at her home by 7-7:30 even after she pleaded her case that she has mobility problems, and that time in the morning was almost impossible. He matter of factly told her that she would have to wait another week to reschedule. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! read more

We ordered approx $4,000.00 in furniture from the Toms River location, N.J. We waited over 10 weeks for our furniture to be delivered. When we finally did get it over numerous phone calls, that were not returned we went into the store for a date of delivery. The girl working at the front desk was beyond rude, never looking up as she spent over 20 minutes looking down at her computer (trying to find my order) I then asked to speak to the store manager. As I am waiting an older woman comes in to complain that she wanted to return her furniture and stating " Her husband said it felt like it was going to break out from under him". I finally get a date for our furniture delivery and our furniture was delivered. Right away, my husband says "Something is wrong with this furniture it has NO support". In the mist of all this, our grandson was in Children's Hospital was numerous problems and surgery. One day I took off all the cushions to see what could be the problem, to find "WE HAD DELIVERED USED FURNITURE DURING COVID-19. The cleaning company that cleaned it, and the other customers name was still on my furniture. After several weeks of going back and fourth with a delivery PICK BACK UP from our home we still after 3 weeks have not received our CREDIT back to our credit card. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY... IT WILL BE THE WORST MISTAKE YOU EVER MADE. read more

NEVER EVER GO HERE!!!! DON'T DO IT! I promise I'm saving your sanity. We ordered a couch from here in 2020, they informed us (and we understand) that due to covid it might take a month or two to get delivered. It ended up taking them 5 months which we were fine with. Of course they delivered it broken and stained. Super disappointed, the delivery men said they refused to take it back down, Ashley's acted as if they were doing something nice for us by letting us keep their broken couch until we got a new one. The next 5 months were full of more disappointment when they kept calling to say they didn't know when they could have our new couch. We asked for some kind of help in witch they offered a $15 gift card on our couch that cost more than $1,300. After much work we got them to give a WHOLE $100 back and a note that the couch would be delivered the next month. Shocking, no check (they sent it to the wrong address which was then cashed by someone else with a completely different name) and no coun, in fact they said it would be another 5 months until the couch is ready. I'm no expert but I don't think it take 1.5 years to make a couch. This has been the most horrific, stressful customer service experience of my life. We still have no answers from anyone and to top it off the couch is horrible quality. Please do not go here, I promise it's NOT worth it. Quality and service are astronomically terrible. read more

Had the experience of being profiled as a younger Spanish looking kid who could not afford their furniture. Maybe I should have walked in there with my nursing scrubs to be taken seriously. Needless to say I had the experience of the sales lady telling me, "If you have a couch in mind don't waste my time so I can just price match that as well" needless to say I just walked in the store and haven't even asked her about a couch yet and was specific with which bedroom set I wanted to buy. She had to ask me three times if I knew which couch I wanted to buy and three times I told her no I don't have anything in mind could you help me find a matching couch that you have in stock. She then went on to say no we have couches online and they don't have couches in the store. I asked her for a suede couch and she acted like I could not afford that either. After explaining to her three times that I wanted to see if they had a couch I could see in the store she finally showed me around the store in a very rushed manner. At the end of the day I will not waste your time and will go back to value city furniture in manahawkin. At least there i was treated with respect, and actually talked to like a regular client not a child for some lady to yell at. I never knew I could waste someone's time if I was only in the store for 10 minutes ready to buy over 3k dollars of furniture. If I told my critical patients not to waste my time with their needs, I'm sure my manager who witnessed their sales person not to waste their time would have directly intervened and addressed that poorly handled sale. Thank you as well to the male manager too who sat 10 feet away from me on the couch with another lady associate and watched his employee tell his coustomer not to waste their time. Don't waste your time here buy from value city furniture in manahawkin. Went here for a dresser set that we wanted. I asked the woman how much and she said its 50% off and the final price was $1600 for two dressers. I was blown away that the original price was $3200.. So we tried numerous other furniture stores in ocean county and found the same exact dressers at Michaels in brick for $1200... I bought a mattress 13 months ago and it caved in. they said it is only warrantied for 12 months. so they said they will send a man to look at it. they left a message about coming at 730 to 930. i thought it was pm. after waiting 8 days the man comes and leaves and didn't wake anyone up. it was 730 am. I never heard of a 730 am appointment. Everyone was sleeping. now they want me to wait another 8 days to look at a broken mattress. The customer service was amazing. We were on our way to another furniture store, but decided to stop in. So very happy we did. Everyone we dealt with was super nice and helpful. We went to Ashley 's to buy a dresser and a nightstand for a very small bedroom. We faced a big challenge trying to find the right size nightstand. We wanted light furniture for the space. We had looked at other places and were beginning to lose some hope. Upon entering the store, we were greeted by a representative named Mike. Mike Mike to be exact. Think a camel and hump day. We explained what we needed and our dimension needs. He was instantly able to show us a dresser option, but more importantly several nightstand options. And due to his knowledge of the furniture throughout the store, we found a side table that perfectly matched the dresser, fit our space and had unexpected toots and whistles(built in electricity and cell chargers, cool). Mike made everything go seamlessly. Loved his positivity and humor. We have other Ashley furniture and their quality is very good. We would definitely work with Mike again. read more

I actually do not want to give this store any stars. I purchased a split king mattress. After it was delivered I realized one mattress was lower than the other and it looked like someone had slept in it. What really convinced me was when I put the sheets on, one sheet was very tight and the other one was very loose. I purchased 2 of the same mattress. I called the store and let them know. They said someone had to come out and look at it and it would be up to 3 days. She would put a rush on it. They would also let my sales person know. The next day the sales person called and said she would call us right back, she had to speak to her Supervisor. Well it is now 6 days later and I have not heard from the sales person or customer service person to come and look at it. During the 6 days my husband has called and left numerous messages. No one has called us back. We now have to waste our time and go back to the store and speak to the store manager. I will never buy anything from this store again. I bought my Darcy Chaise Lounge on August 26th. The sale went smoothly - the customer service was excellent. They scheduled my delivery for September 16th, which was a bit far away, but I understood that furniture deliveries can take some time. The saleswoman told me that I would be getting a call a day prior to the delivery with the scheduled time slot. Two days before my delivery I received a call saying that the couch was no longer in stock and that I would have to wait until October to receive it. I was shocked - I paid for my couch, scheduled a delivery time and the product/service I paid for was no longer available to me. That always amazes me about companies - getting customers to pay for goods and services and then not guaranteeing delivery. I spoke with many representatives who were no help. They told me the couch was out of stock and there was nothing that could be done. I asked them if this could possibly happen again - that I would receive a call two days prior to the next delivery date with the message that the couch was again out of stock. They said yes it could very well happen. How is this business model working? If you go to a restaurant and order food you either get the food or don't pay for the meal. If you buy a car you either get the car or don't pay for it. Ashley Furniture had me pay in advance for a couch and then didn't give me what I paid for. It'll be two full months from the time I paid to the time I (may or may not) receive my couch. One thing is for sure, whether or not I get my couch this time around (we'll just have to wait and see, I suppose) I will never shop at Ashley Furniture again. read more

Initial purchase went well. However, do not purchase their warranty. They will give you the run around. Multiple calls to the warranty company and the store. Try corporate? Don't bother. They will not help. If you are looking for a company that stands by their product I would look elsewhere . Well. 3 years ago I spent over $10,000 cash at the Daytona location. Sold that house and moved it all into my Nashville home. Sold my Nashville home with the furniture. I have a new home this week in New Jersey, so I needed all new furniture again. So I walk in on a Sunday looking for new furniture and if I had to guess, their were about 15 employees and all doing nothing except maybe 1. I take my time and circle the whole store and found furniture I liked with still no help and even when I tried to get help by looking or trying to ask, noone helped. So on my way out a couple came in and got attention right away, got told the sales going on and even a free t shirt. So this really pressed my nerves so I turned around to tell the guy how I had previously spent 3 years ago over $10,000 at the Daytona store and he replied with a "thank you." I said " no thank you, because since I couldn't get help i'm not shopping here at all now for all the furniture"! So I went on wayfair and bought two new bedroom sets, mattress, dining room set and living room set. Now, will never go to another Ashley store. The people they decided to give attention to prolly never even bought anything. Place is a joke. When it comes to hospitality I have zero toleration for stuff like this. read more

The wonderful staff at this store made a very difficult time for my family stress free. They went out of their way for us and did everything they could to help. Our sales person Pete was absolutely amazing. I live all the way in Florida and my family lives in NJ. My dad has just gotten released from the hospital and needed a recliner the same day. When I called and spoke to Pete he was so kind and so helpful. He got me what I needed and when I needed it and was even late to a birthday party for his son to make sure that my family had no issues when picking up the new recliner that my dad is currently recovering in. I am so outraged with this store! In February my mom and I went in for the Presidents Day Sale. Cindy was the salesperson and she was very nice. We each bought a bedroom set. It was delivered as promised with no problems. Therefore, we went back in June. We asked for Cindy and my mom bought another bedroom set and a furniture set for her den. We were going on vacation so we asked for an August delivery date. Well they pushed August back to September. Then in September, they said they couldn't deliver all of the bedroom set because the some pieces weren't up to spec. My mom didn't want just some pieces so the delivery was now pushed to late October. The day before delivery they called and now the bedroom set is discontinued. Good thing she didn't take just some pieces or she would have half of a set. The den furniture was delivered but she was told to pick out another bedroom set. Cindy called and had picked one out for her but she wanted to go in and choose one. She kept trying to call Cindy to set up a day. She couldn't reach her. Finally, she went in and asked for a manager. She worked with the manager and picked out another set plus purchased an additional chair for the den. They told her they would call her with a delivery date. NO ONE called. She continually called and no one called back. When she finally spoke with someone, they told her if she wanted the furniture prior to Dec 18th she would only get Pieces. HERE WE GO AGAIN!!! she said fine deliver what you can and then the rest on Dec 18th. The woman said she would call back. Of course, NO ONE CALLED. After calling several more times and time has passed, my mom said fine just deliver everything on Dec. 18. Then on Dec 17th they call to say they can't deliver until January. She was livid and asked to speak to a manager. She was told that she couldn't because no one was there. They offered her a $250 gift card for the store. Why would she want that now! We will NEVER buy furniture here again. My mom has spent thousands of dollars here and this is the service they give. My mom now has elderly company sleeping on air mattresses for the holidays because she can't get the furniture she ordered in JUNE! Happy Holidays! read more

We purchased a king size bedroom set, a kitchen set and a few other miscellaneous pieces of furniture over the course of three visits. Our total purchase was about $7,000. During our last visit, our saleperson treated us very poorly. She spoke to us like we were her children, ordering us to come stand by her. After we negotiated a price match and free delivery, she said no at the check out process, and started arguing with us about it. It was very embarrassing and unnecessary. My wife and I were about to cancel the entire order and leave, but she begrudgingly gave into her originally agreement. When it came time for scheduling a delivery, they did not ask what would work for us, they simply assigned a date. We said that date would not work, so a different date was chosen. Two days later we called to change the delivery date and the person who answered the call said no problem, they will change the date to the new requested date. Shortly thereafter I received a call from the saleperson telling me the date would not be changed. Trucks get booked and they can not change it. Keep in mind the delivery date was about weeks out. (In today's competitive market, most furniture stores are offering anywhere from three day to next day delivery.) She was matter-of-fact and quick with me on the phone about it. Bottom line, whether you are buying one piece of furniture or a whole house, spending $100 or $20,000, you should be treated well and made to feel like you matter as a customer.... especially considering in this situation you do matter, since the saleperson is working on commission. With todays competition and on- line buying, they need you more than you need them. read more

I purchased a reclining leather sofa and love seat. What we got did not match the design that was in the store. They are so over stuffed no one can sit in them. I complained several times. Finally someone came out to remove some of the stuffing which didn't remedy the problem at all. They told us it was simply a manufacturers variation and there was nothing they can do about it. I finally had to get something else (not from Ashley). I wasted $3000. I will never buy anything from them again. They do not stand behind their products. Well if you have a lot of time to spend waiting for call backs then this store is for you. furniture of good quality for the price. Probably wont last too long. Cheap, Ordered complete bed. Was told by message nite before they would deliver next day between 9 to 1 pm so I scheduled my work and husbands work for someone to be home. Daughter calls me at 7:20 to tell me that non speaking delivery men were sitting in my driveway wanted to deliver. Caused a lot of stress for me. I drive a school bus and it was difficult to make phone calls to get someone there asap Daughter had to catch bus in NY and five dogs had to be put in back yard a mess they parked in driveway and dogs parking the whole time. Then when they were taking my furniture out which I paid oer 100 for, they said they had no order to take it had to call their supervisor to get straight. cant get on bed box spring way too high, salesperson should have given me the option of smaller box spring which a friend told e about. So now I have to pay 53.00 to get lower mattress take off work again one of the drawers track not working, they ordered new tracks have to call to make apt to get new tracks put in. another day lost from work, My salesperson did not even know haw to transfer a call at store to schedule new box spring said I would et call back in pm got call back three days later. Manager when she called me had the nerve to say they don't train their sales people to use the phone. Is this not 2016??? read more

Over the past year my wife and I have furnished our new house almost exclusively from Ashley and until recently we were quite happy with them. Unfortunately, it seems that their customer service has drastically declined. We purchased a new kingsized mattress and kingsized bed frame on Labor Day Weekend. Our delivery date was set for the first week of October. When we received delivery, the frame was missing the footboard and thus could not be assembled. My wife and I had rearranged several rooms in our house in preparation for the new bed and could not easily change it back. We slept on the new mattress on the floor for two more weeks, waiting for the footboard. When it arrived we were informed that it could it could not be assembled because it was defective. Fast forward another two weeks and we finally have our frame. Unfortunately, during construction the delivery team broke my bedroom closet door. They also suggested that the three slats included with the frame to support the box spring and mattress would be insufficient for the long term, recommending we contact AF to obtain a roll slat to reinforce the existing slats. Through the course of the month, my wife and I were constantly on the phone with AF trying to get answers, delivery dates, and, finally, some satisfaction for the shoddy service provided. I say constantly because we were frequently call-dropped, placed on an endless hold, or put into the cycle of "I don't know, let me connect you"- on and on, without even so much as an apology. I wasn't going to post this, but the real kick in the pants came today. On requesting the roll slat (a simple feat that- no joke- necessitated 6 separate phone calls) we were told that our frame was fine, but if we wanted to BUY a roll slat we could. After everything AF put us through, the very least they could have done would be to provide the roll slat gratis. I guess good customer service, like chivalry, is dead. read more

This is the worst store. First, it took us several hours in the store to order our items even though we knew what we wanted. Our salesman (Pete) was too busy trying to sell more furniture (tempurpedic mattress) to other people - he knew he had a sale in us. Second, the day they delivered our furniture, they called ahead and said that they did not have the correct mattress for us (oops) and we would have to wait a couple of weeks for it. So I was already annoyed before they even got here. Once they got here, they had the wrong chairs for our dining room set (we ordered a pub style table and they brought the low chairs - not the stools) and they brought the wrong dresser. Come to find out, this was an error of our salesman - I guess he was too distracted with his other sales and entered in the wrong codes. I then called Ashely to rectify the mistake and they refused to do anything for me other than get me the right furniture - no money off or a future credit. The next weekend, I had to spend another beautiful summer Sunday waiting for my furniture arrive. This time, the chairs were the correct ones, but as they were bringing them in, I noticed several scratches and nicks on the chairs. They were able to cover up the scratches. I was annoyed by this because I paid good money for the chairs - I would rather put the scratches in myself, I don't want them to come with scratches. A few months later, I spilt something on my dining room table and it took some of the finish off. I call the warranty place, only to find out ASHLEY never created my warranty account - they were supposed to according to the warranty place (not sure who I believe, but knowing how disorganized this Ashely store is, I believe the warranty place). It is yet to be seen how the warranty shapes out, but I will never go back to Ashley. I do actually love all the furniture I ordered (King size bed and frame, two dressers, and dining room set). This store, however, offers poor customer service and is extremely disorganized. read more

Do not order from this store, it has been a total nightmare to receive a couch that was promised for July 15th. I ordered my couch with my salesperson Cindy knowing that I was having a party for 100 people and it was needed before July 25th. They assured me I would have delivery for July 15th , of course delivery was cancelled they said it was back ordered and I would receive delivery August 11th. I was devastated and with much back and forth they gave me the floor model for the day of the party as long as I picked it up and returned the next day which I did. August 10th I called and they told me no one scheduled me for the 11th I would definetly get it the 18th. The 14th I get a call telling me it was back ordered again and I would receive August 27th, I was assured my ticket would be watched and I would definitely get it this time. Lo and behold I get a call on the 25th telling me the couch is not coming once again , this time because they are in the process of changing warehouses. I am now promised September 10th I have completely lost faith in them and do not believe anything they say. Save yourself tremendous aggravation and don't be bothered ordering!! They have a bedroom set I want but I will never trust them again . I will let you all know if I actually receive it on the 10th. read more

Our experience dealing with Ashley has been excellent. The advice we received regarding our mattress purchase was helpful. The price was also very reasonable. We received a call last night as promised with the 4 hour delivery "window". Then we received a call this morning indicating they would be earlier than expected which was greatly appreciated. The two delivery persons were professional, friendly and experienced. They took care to put down mats so our floors did not get wet or dirty. The mattress was totally protected to ensure it arrived in perfect condition. The delivery people did not leave until we indicated that we were pleased with the condition and the set up and the removal of our old mattress. We would have no qualms about dealing with this company again. read more
