We purchased $4300 of furniture (sectional, ottoman, 2 lamps & a dining set) from Ashley on Hull Street 6/24/18. It's now 9/19/18 and we still do not have a dining set and we are still waiting on our cuddler seat cushion. The sales associate was nice and not pushy. We got a call saying they are going to deliver our sectional etc but the dining set was damaged at the warehouse and they will let us know when the dining set will be delivered. The dining set was delivered 2 months after the original purchase date and the table legs were not the right legs. The correct legs were ordered and 6 weeks later 1 leg was delivered via UPS. Where are the other 3 legs??? Our cuddler seat cushion after ~ 2 weeks started having ripples. We do not have children, pets nor a lot of company. We were told this sectional was the highest quality. After several emails, calls and pictures to customer care we have received on the first shipment 1 foam and a cover and the second shipment we have yet another foam delivered. Neither shipment contained a casing. We thought we would get resolution from the store managers but were brushed off to customer care. Funny how the store took our money but continued to punt us around. Good luck trying to get through with customer service. It took stepping out of my character, threats to contact the BBB and seeking legal advice to get resolution. Magically we will get a new dining set in 3 days and our cuddled seat cushion will be expedited and a technician will arrive to install it. I am trying to remain positive but I'm not holding my breath that this will be a smooth delivery. I'm glad my husband and I do not have the same work ethic and business practices as Ashley. If I had the same work ethic as the people I came across at Ashley, my patients would die! It's basic-treat people the way you want to be treated. People work hard for their money and want a great product and experience. We actually found a sectional at Greenfront (a local furniture store) and now I regret not giving them our business. This will be my last purchase with Ashley. read more

Great customer service! Eric the GM was an excellent sales representative. My wife and I just went to brows and end up buying a bedroom set. Thanks Eric for the Excellent service. read more

Do not buy from this company!! Dont even think of going in the store!!!!!!!We went in looking at furniture and ended up loosing $400. My wife and I couldn't decide whether or not a sectional would fit after trying to leave they told us the sales prices wouldn't be available the next day when we told them we'd be back after taking a measurement. But.....give them a 10 percent deposit and we could hold the price!! Guess what we did, so after finding out the sofa was to big they refuse to refund the deposit which wasn't for a specific piece because we were undecided on which sofa but was to hold a sales price. The manager of the store who's name is Brandon in Richmond Va, absolutely refused to refund the deposit, and wouldn't return my calls. Don't do what we did and just walk away. Update....their reply is automated and a bunch of BS! Read the reviews their reply's are all the same!! read more

The worst customer care anywhere! Me and my husband just moved to a new house. We bought a king bed frame and a sofa set two weeks ago but was never satisfied with what we got. We paid almost $3000 for two items but the love seat we got has the scratch hole just beside the head rest. As soon as the delivery guy left, we saw the hole and I immediately call the customer care but no one ever seemed to be cared about the issue. We paid for brand new set not for the used one. The bed has something missing so the guy couldn't fixed it and the customer care people assured us that they are going to send someone to fixed it the next day. I said okay despite having a full of people in my house sleeping in a carpet. We were so excited moving to a new house, but Ashley has us our terrible day start. Again, they were supposed to come next day early morning, but nobody shown up nor called us whether they are coming or not making us wait until 4pm when in fact I had to call to make sure if the delivery was going to made that same day. So so terrible that the customer care couldn't take it seriously and pros pond the date to next week, tues. really! so disappointing and embarrassing that we have guest called for the house warming party but has nothing prepared. Ashley ruined our plan and has us embarrassed. Cont. for the last time we have accepted the tues delivery but same thing happened. Nobody called us until we call them and asked them what time the delivery is going to be when the time was given early morning and nobody shows up till noon. Now my head has already spun up and on top of that the customer care was playing with us for the whole freaking week. I swear to god, this time they pros pond the delivery to Thursday!! Are you kidding me! I was so freaking pissed up and the frustration was out of control. I asked one of the customer care girl if I could talk to the manager. And the supervisor picked up the call and told me either it would be thurs or sat! I swear to god, i feel like to go and burn their whole store!! What and who in the world plays with the customer like this!!!! I finally decided to throw their junk off from my house before they make me destroy em. I asked the supervisor for my refund and she said, they do not have the return policy instead she would ask the manager to do some kind of adjustment. I took two days off from my work just to receive my stuffs and I end up losing my money and time. Ashley has the worrrrrrrrrrrst customer care anywhere. It's been more than two weeks nobody has shown up yet at my house to fixed the love seat hole or to take it for exchange. My only next plan is to take their stuff back to their store and get the refund including the the other costs. I have no words how much I hate Ashley!! This one star is for the reasonable price I got it for the bed. read more

Finally, Ashley came through with a solution that resolved my issue. The process for addressing customer issues is a long one and takes persistence from the customer. I feel it should be the other way around. Regardless, problem solved! Thanks Ashley. read more

Made several purchases, over past years including couch set, bed set, kitchen sets, last was a red(pleather) couch which had issues... so was exchanged for another set and paid extra as well. T.his was march-april 2016, Was assuming extended warranty would transfer over or thought I paid the extra to transfer it... Have a issue with a nail ripping a cushion on inside.. daughter cut 2 fingers as well. when pushing cushion back in , and the couch broke when trying to move in living room. they deny the original mfg warranty .. the Extended warranty denies claim...so your pretty much at a loss.... Good luck with getting ANY support-phone calls. The furniture is bought outside..not made by Ashley..alot is VERY cheaply made... If you are not making payments, expect NO customer support or service ....Will be contacting the AG and everywhere else. Ashley Furniture is always my first stop when I need new furniture. Every time I go I have a good experience. The staff is friendly without being pushy. They actually let you look around on your own if you like and are ready to answer questions at a moments notice. The prices are very fair and reasonable. Today I bought a love seat, recliner, and an end table. I got a great deal and they included delivery and 5 year damage protection plan. Horrible! All Ashley furniture stores are awful in terms of customer relations, service AND their products. Bought durablend furniture in Virginia and in Arizona. All peeling. Lawsuits and complaints nationwide. I have to keep calling customer care because I don't get call backs. They pretend they never heard of problems with durablend. They refuse to give me the name of supervisor. You would think the young workers in customer care are paid by the minutes that they keep a complaining customer on the phone rather than give them to supervisor or resolve it. All that's left to do is go to the store and raise the roof and let customers know how Horrible this company's representatives are!! read more

I needed a new couch and had some ideas of what I wanted but was open as well. The woman here showed me what fit withing what I wanted, was not pushy, and extremely helpful. Went to several other places the same day looking and got no where near the same treatment. One play just said okay our couches are this way, pointed, and then said let me know when you find what you want. Ashley Home Store made the process easy and simple and I didn't waste time looking for where the couches fitting my requirements were. The delivery was nice and smooth as well and they actually came earlier than the window. Great couch too and for a great price! read more

If I could give this company no stars, I would do just that. I purchased my furniture (sectional) in May 2020. I paid cash! No financing. I was told that my items were in stock and would be delivered by July 1. I was excited as my bday is July 2. My sectional did not arrive in July. I called several times in July and was given different dates for delivery. I was never contacted, at any point, regarding the delays. I was on hold for greater than 45 minutes on each call I've made to customer service. The beginning of August I received only parts of my sectional. Two of those parts are defected. I was told my other parts are still in production and will arrive on 8/26/2020. I was told to call CS with my complaint of my defected equipment. I was on hold for greater than 1 hour. I was told someone will send me paperwork to fill out. I completed the required information and emailed it back. I never heard anything else. I called 3 days later and was told that someone will call to make an appointment. I was contacted days later and an appointment was scheduled for a technician to come out on 8/26/20 (the same day my other parts should arrive). Due to the unfortunate service I have received from this company I decided to call today, 8/21/20 to make sure everything was "a -go". I was told today that one part to my sectional (Console/storage) wasn't ordered and I have to call the store, the other part to my sectional (right arm facing chaise recliner) will not arrive until 9/17/20. I was also told that the technician appointment needs to be rescheduled and they are not sure why. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done immediately. I feel taken advantage of. I will be contacting BBB. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy. read more

To be short and sweet. The experience in the store was fine. However he said the mattress would be delivered Thursday the 16th. 100% and now today comes in getting the call that it can't be delivered for another week. They even tried to get it delivered the week before. I took off work and prepared for this date because he lied and said it would be delivered today. I would have been fine if he hadn't lied. Purchased replacement couch cushions in August 2018 and the money was taken out, but still haven't received cushions as of 12/6/18. Contacted them multiple times via phone, email, and visiting the store and constantly get the run around. They say that the cushions are coming, but they never do. They told us we would receive an email with our tracking number within 24 hours and that was about 4 weeks ago- still no email. DO NOT SHOP HERE! They are the WORST. I can't give this store a star rating because I am extremely disappointed in the customer service and the lack of integrity displayed by my salesperson. I went in the store on 8/26/18. I knew exactly what I wanted to purchase because I purchased the exact item for my other home, but from a different Ashley store. I found the powered recliner on the floor and asked the salesman for a price...he gave me a price I was comfortable with. When he wrote up the sale....either he wrote the number down wrong or the person that keyed in the order keyed it wrong but I received a manual recliner the exact color and size I wanted and thought I had ordered. I noticed this error a month later because my father passed away and then my son passed away. So I was not home for the delivery. When I noticed the error, I called the store and was told the salesman would need to call me......I am still waiting for that call. I tried many attempts to speak to someone to no avail. Customer care said they couldn't help because the chair received matched the number on the receipt. I had no control over what was written because the sales person is tasked with that duty. I looked online and realized the price I paid is the price plus an additional $100 for a powered recliner. As I stated I was okay with the price quoted but I want what I paid for. I paid for a service agreement because it was suggested because of the powered aspect of the recliner. So, not only did I pay for a overpriced manual chair which was suppose to be powered but I have also paid for a service agreement that is not needed for the manual recliner received. I have made many purchases from Ashley but I can guarantee this last one will be the last one for me and anyone that will listen to my story. Thank you for this forum to speak my truth, Kim J. read more

Bought a couch from Ashleys Furniture, W Broad Street, Richmond Va.. Paid over a 1000.00 dollars for it. Have had to replace cushions twice within six months. Appears Ashleys uses cheap foam padding., The Foam is only 4 inces think with a 1 inch white filler glued to the the foam... Repair man says they are having lots of complaints due to this. You would think Ashleys furniture would fix it. We were told this is the type of cheap foam the manufacture uses and if we wanted a better foam we would have to pay for it ourselves. Pretty bad if you go to Ashleys to look a a couch. Unzip the cushion and if you see the white filler. Do not buy this product of any other Ashleys product till they fix the issue. Will be posting a video of this on Utube. Its almost gotten comical about what cheap material Ashley's uses read more

Our entire house was purchased from Ashley Furniture on West Broad. We had an issue with our Ashley mattress that is less than 2 years old. When we purchased the mattress we paid $1300 for just the mattress. It is now sagging, coming apart and very uncomfortable. They sent an inspector out and they told us it was no good. We went into the store over the weekend to get another mattress with our $1300 credit. The no longer make the mattress we purchased so we picked out another mattress. The one we picked out was $300 less than the credit we had because there was nothing we liked for the same price. We asked our salesman if there was something else we could get with the remainder of our $300 credit and was told that the manager said no. We spoke with the manager who told us unless we found a matress for the same price that the credit would just go away since we weren't spending the total credit. WHAT?! You mean we paid $300 more for the crappy mattress we bought less than 2 years ago and it failed and now that we cannot find another one for the same (or more) than the one we purchased our $300 more we paid is just down the toilet? POOR POOR customer service. We talked with the manager for about 30min explaining to him how much we have bought from THAT store. He told us that is the way it is and there's nothing else he can do about it. I will NEVER buy anything else from this store or any other Ashley. BEWARE of their warranty's..... read more

Sales person came and said that the delicery guys will wear shoe and not spoil the carpet, they will have blankets on the furniture, corners will be covered and they fix everything. She didnt mention about getting our room ready for the new furniture to be set up. Today in the morning, two guys came to set up the furniture. They were very rude. They said they wont touch the existing furniture. They used filthy language. THey wore shoe and made stains over the carpet. Absolutely awful! The second I walked out the door they seemed to be finished with me! It took three phone calls to get my invoice emailed to me! Then I called a couple of times to just to check the status of the couch and verify the delivery date, no one returned my calls or sent me an email! I finally called the weekend before the delivery date I was originally told and they informed me that the delivery was push back another two weeks!! Then I finally spoke with a manager who suggested doing a split delivery on the pieces they had in stock and he assured me that he would email me the confirmation for the delivery and once again they failed to email me! And final piece is supposed to be delivered tomorrow and have yet to hear from them and calling the store just goes to voicemail! read more

This store has a lot to offer. Many different furniture options in what I consider 3 price ranges: inexpensive, mid range, and fancy the difference is that they are all, in my opinion, in a price range that makes all three affordable. The quality is spot on and the customer service cannot be beat. In these times when choosing where to spend your hard earned money, customer service should be a top priority with every business. I find that is not the case. With Ashley furniture, you're going to be taken care of whatever your needs are. We bought a leather sofa with electronic recliners. OMG is it comfortable. When they delivered it there was a flaw in the back of the leather. They let us know as soon as it was delivered to the warehouse and gave us the option of delivery with replacement of the leather at our home (pending order and delivery of leather 2 weeks) or a new sofa delivered in 2-3 weeks. We opted for the sofa to be repaired and we don't regret it. We did not have to follow up to find out if they were coming, they called us and let us know, set an appointment and even called the day of the appointment to come early. Nice :) Lastly, they seem to have sales a lot and the sales are pretty dang amazing. Go check them out. You won't regret it! read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with this company. I would definitely give them 0 stars if possible. I purchased furniture back in September/October of 2017 and am still dealing with issues as they continue to send furniture that is damaged! I have a headboard that they have brought replacements 5 times!!! Each time they are damaged upon arrival at my home and I'm given a half hearted apology by the customer service team on the phone and am told that a manager will inspect the next one before they bring it. By the admission of the delivery guys- the managers do not inspect them, which is why I keep having the same issue over and over. I have asked to speak with managers as well and conveniently they are always all busy. Additionally, I have 2 dining chairs that are damaged and I'm having the worst time getting them replaced! They delivered chairs damaged, then sent a tech to fix them, tech couldn't fix them and claimed he would order 2 new ones, instead he had 1 chair back mailed to my house (mind you I was told I would get 2 new chairs) and that one was damaged as well!!!! Keep in mind all of this crap has been going on since October. I'm tired of counting how many delivery drivers and/or techs have been to my home- we purchased other furniture as well and some of that had to be either fixed by a tech or a new piece delivered. I will NEVER EVER buy from or refer anyone to Ashley furniture. They are awful and no one cares!!! I wonder how many more months I will be dealing with these issues. read more

We had a HORRIBLE experience at your Ashley Store on Broad Rd in Richmond Va. My wife looked at furniture on 12/17/2015. The sales rep, Entisar basically lied and was deceitful to my wife. My wife was thinking about a few items and stated she needed to speak with me and we would come back the next day. My wife was in the store for 4 HOURS !!Entisar wrote up the order and asked for $300 deposit to hold it and filled out the paperwork. My wife again asked and was reassured that we can change it if I did not like it. We came back the next day at about 5:00 and decided we did not want a head board. Entisar flat out said "there are no refunds" . Not even listening. We asked for a manager and she first was getting one then said there wasn't one then the assistant was busy. I said we are canceling the order because the way we were treated. We have a Buyer's remorse and it is less than 24 hours. Entisar kept saying "no refunds", not even listening. An "assistant Manager " came over and said she will leave it for the store manager but stated there will be a 30% restocking fee. The order wasn't even placed or picked! I asked that the manager call me the next day. I never receive a call. I called the store on 12/23 and spoke with Linda and asked if the manager was there. I was on hold and the manager was busy. I again stated my concern and was assured the manager. Tim Green, would call me back. I called another day and I felt the person did not even take the message. I have not hear from anyone in the store to date. Entisar also stated that the furniture would be delivered by the holidays as we were having company. That was clearly impossible. My experience with Ashley and Entisar and Tim Green was pathetic ! Obviously, Entisar was only concerned with her commission and not service after sales! Or actually any type of customer service. I even contact corporate Ashley 3 times and no response or even an email We do not need the furniture anymore and I request my $300 deposit to be refunded. It is a shame this occurred. There are many choices out there and we have purchased from Ashley in Syracuse and in Long Island in the past. That is why we went to the Richmond store. The service, the honesty and the lack of respect for the customer is appalling! Stay away. Stay very far away! read more

Purchased furniture during Presidents Sale. Was told it would take about 4 weeks to receive it. Then 2 weeks later was told it'll take about another month because its out of stock which will then make it 2 months with no furniture. Store promised 4-6 weeks turn around. I can wait that much longer asked for my money back was told I signed a all sales were final form. Id agree to the document if I had any merchandise. So right now I have no furniture and none coming soon and no money!! I did not feel like anyone in the store was sympathetic and was willing to figure out what they could do to satisfy the customer. The only thing offered for my inconvenience was a switch out but guess what.. all of the furniture that was comparable to what I paid over 2K in cash for wasn't in stock or had the same "delivery" date!! read more

I walked into Ashley Furniture on Broad Street to get some ideas prior to closing on my house. I was enthusiastically greeted by Michelle, who seemed genuinely excited that I was about to become a new home owner. She walked me through the showroom and was so knowledgeable and obviously proud to be a part of the company. I wasn't ready to purchase at the time, but I will absolutely return after closing on my house and will look for Michelle. When I left, she walked me out and opened the door for me and thanked me for coming in, as did the store manager, EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT BUY THAT DAY. This certainly has never happened to me before. I'm not reviewing the furniture itself but the customer service I received. Everyone was friendly but not pushy. We were given space to look around and when I needed to ask questions, the sales team was available. John was extremely honest and down to earth in helping us make a decision about purchasing a bed for our daughter's room. I'm taking off a star for customer service because the only warehouse for pickup is in Fredericksburg which is a long drive. Also, one of the other sales associates gave me false information about what was actually included with our bed. However, once I picked up the bed at the distribution center, Adele was extremely helpful in trying to accommodate my needs. She went above and beyond to speak with staff on the warehouse floor to make what I needed for the bed. She was patient, positive and understanding all on a very busy morning. Jack, who loaded my bed into the car opened my boxes twice to help me with an issue and was also patient and extremely courteous. Overall, my experience was positive. read more

I had the worst experience ever with this store! Do not make any purchase with Ashley Homestore! They have the worse Customer Service, and they are not forthcoming regarding delivery of furniture. Additionally, they have a no refund policy, so once you make your purchase, you are literally "stuck" with the furniture, and have no recourse as far as cancelling your order, and going someplace else. I made my purchase of a queen bed on December 11, 2019, and was informed by the Sales Manager, I would likely receive the furniture by Christmas. I should expect to receive a call on December 23, 2019, if not at some point during that week. However, when I was emailed my paperwork the following day, the ETA was December 31, 2019. I quickly contacted Customer Service, yet, due to the ETA on the paperwork, no one would hear me out, and of course, the Sales Manager who assisted with the sale was unavailable, as was the Store Manager. Nonetheless, the Representative took my information, and advised I would receive a call from the Sales Manager), or Store Manager, well the call never came. I continuously contacted the store, to no avail. Hence, on December 31, I contacted Customer Service, only to find my furniture was on back order, and I should be in the following day. So I called the next day, only to be told, the furniture would now be delayed until January 3 or 4 due to damage. I was informed the dates given are only estimates. Well how long are you going to estimate the date? This could go on for months! Frustrated, I went to the store, which was a waste of time, as they were no help, and of course, there was no Store Manager available. Mind you, at this time, I have been without a bed since December 23. Finally, I called on January 4 and finally spoke with a Customer Service Representative, who was caring, and professional, she was able to find the item on back order in their inventory and schedule my delivery for January 7, almost one month after my purchase. I will never purchase from Ashley Homestore again! read more

We recently purchased a new bedroom suit for our new home. We explained that we were moving out of the Richmond area to ensure delivery would not be a problem. We were told that deliver would not be a problem and that by purchasing a mattress with our furniture we would get free delivery. Again we made sure that we would be able to get the furniture delivered without issue. The sales said 2 -4 weeks. After having to call to find out where our furniture was I was told it would be an additional 3 weeks before we would get our furniture because they don't come to this area but twice a month. Well don't you think that would be something we would have liked to know BEFORE we made the purchase? We were told we are welcome to come pick it up. Really??? And when asked if they would reimburse my expenses to rent a truck.... 'Oh no I can't do that'. Come on man!!! I will never buy another piece of furniture for Ashley again. It's ashame because we like the product but the service we recieved leaves a lot to be desired. They got the sale and don't care that we are sleeping on the floor. read more

My wife and I purchased a bed frame, mattress set and two cocktail tables. They said it would be a month to gather all the items together and get them delivered to me on 5/9/19. It was a little frustrating to hear that it would take so long but, it is what it is. I stopped by the store on 5/6/19 to confirm delivery and was completely blown away when the customer care team said they were still waiting on 4 pieces to come in. I only had 5 total. Not a single person in the store could explain what had happened to my items or where they were. Thank god I have the opportunity to cancel the entire order before I am charged. I work at a location on Broad St. and behind us is a Rent-a-Center. An Ashley tractor trailer is delivering furniture to that store at least once a week. I can't believe Ashley has completely dropped the ball on this. My wife and I have purchased furniture from Ashley before and have dealt with long wait delivery and astronomical delivery fees. NO MORE!!! Ashley-you have lost my business forever! read more

The service was terrible. It took a week for someone to call me back so that I could make a down payment. I had to threaten to come to the location just to have the manager give me a call back. And when it came down to the delivery date the only date they were able to bring it was friday which was the a day prior. eventually they were able to deliver it on saturday with no extra charge the thing is i never received a call from dispatch until 15 minutes before my furniture was delivered. the customer service for this company is absolutely horrible and i would not recommend that anyone use them. read more
